Nulln 755 August 16, 2014 Share August 16, 2014 Their talents are being rich. Really though, that's all the show has given us with them. DT's is a little easier to explain. Hers is a tiara. It could represent her easily getting followers. How the other kids just gather around and listen to her and follow her, and pretty much become her little zombie friends. SS's seriously is probably her being born into privilege. She might be in a situation where she really just doesn't need a talent, and just depends on others. How she is pretty much the peanut butter to DT's jelly, if peanut butter were a little friendship leech. She knows who to be around to give her an advantage in life. DT is giving her a social advantage as a child, by being popular.

Jeric 46,852 August 16, 2014 Share August 16, 2014 Talent and personality are not constants in the show. They are also not always mutually inclusive. If it is just talent, then I always had the idea that DT has a talent for valuing or crafting finery and SS would be in restoration of finery. Anyone want to guess why I'm going with those specific talents and even the word choice I used?
Pastel 7,630 August 17, 2014 Share August 17, 2014 Young ponies' cutie marks rarely explain their talents anyway, just look at Twist:
murp662 16 August 17, 2014 Share August 17, 2014 While DT and SS seems to be suffering from the "random Cutie Mark syndrome", similar to the dozens of background-ponies with the same hourglass or cherry Cutie Mark, and the only function of their marks is to reinforce their names, one can speculate on to what thier marks actually represent. Diamond Tiara could be a naturally gifted leader, as seen in Ponyville Confidential where she is able to get the school paper famous far and wide (even though that's not a good thing, and she used others to do so... isn't that what leaders do in the first place?), and the large influence she has on the school kids in Twilight Time. She could also be a beauty pegant contendant or a... jeweler? I have no clue. Silver Spoon talent could be... eating soup? Or... collecting spoons? Perhaps a resturant critic? The most common theory seems to be some sort of silver smith, even though silversmithing is a rather complex work. Yet, we haven't seen anything about her family so it could be a wierd possibility. Of course, both her name and Cutie Mark are a play on the phrase "Born with a silver spoon in the mouth", meaning being born into wealth without actually doing anything for it and having everything served to you on a plate. Perhaps her wealthy upbringing have ruined her ability to learn to earn things herself and have left her unable to work normally in the social life, making the only one she could befriend a similar rich filly like Diamond Tiara. And blindly following the point of DT, her lack of social skills tricking her into believing it to be the right thing, she further ruins any chance of having other friends or seek other happiness. Also, as her name matches her Cutie Mark so perfectly it could mean her parents never expected anything other from her in the first place, making her talent and fate completely meaningless in the end... Or she could be the very first spoon-bending Earth Pony psychic. I'm gonna root for that one.
Octavia_Melody2 187 August 19, 2014 Share August 19, 2014 According to TV Tropes, since their marks match their names exactly, their talent is self-obsession or narcissism.

I think thats the best wording I've seen on this thread. Mostly those two just place holders/bullies in the show to give the CMC a hard time but learn in a lessons in life which will bring them closer to their true selves and cutie marks as they grow up. Not much depth if you over look at them...
The Crimson Cross 7,532 August 19, 2014 Share August 19, 2014 My theory is that being a complete pain in the ass can contribute towards someone's success. For some bad experiences we can learn certain things, so maybe it's just Diamond Tiara & Silverspoon's destiny to be jerks. Though... That's not to say they won't amount to anything when they're older! Now with more added tea leaves! Fractured 2,684 August 19, 2014 Share August 19, 2014 According to TV Tropes, since their marks match their names exactly, their talent is self-obsession or narcissism. Diamond Tiara has never shown a penchant for narcissism. Cold hearted? Downright evil at times? Yes. Narcissistic? No. SilverSpoon doesn't have enough character for that to be true one way or the other, though. Produced by the phenomenal J.R.
