"It's okay Ariel. Shining Armor is really nice. He's Cadence's wife." Thunder explained. "That's right. We've been happily married for two years now." Shining Armor proclaimed as he went to sit on the throne seat. "Well...I guess I'll take the spot now that you're leaving." Shining stated. Cadence nodded.

Ariel gave a quick nod of acknowledgement to Thunder, but hardly seemed to relax that much as she persisted in trying to hide herself. It seemed as if she had a hopeless timid streak that wouldn't go away; perhaps that was merely part of her nature to be timid around new ponies, though it had likely been exacerbated by her former parents' mistreatment of her in the past.

"Why are you so timid Ariel? I'm not going to do anything bad to you!" Cadence said with a giggle as she opened the castle doors and went back outside. Thunder's crystal mane shone in the bright sun. He swung it around letting the bright colors shine radiantly.

Ariel glanced at Cadence and then quickly averted her gaze, not seeming so willing to give an explanation - if she could even give one. She couldn't give all the reasons she was timid, she just was. She was distracted from that line of thought when she saw Thunder's mane shining and sparkling in the sun, staring at the sight with wonder.

"Ariel...wanna learn about the Crystal Empire?" Thunder asked as he found some fresh grass to lay on. The group followed him and went to lay on the grass. Rainbow curled with Blitz. Storm lay by himself. Thunder took Ariel off his back and laid her by Princess Cadence who nuzzled her again.

Ariel gave a barely audible whimper, trying and failing to cling onto Thunder for a moment as he lifted her off of his back. She then looked up at Cadence, her ears flattening once more. She didn't cringe this time at the nuzzling, but she still seemed somewhat reluctant.

Cadence gently curled with Ariel. "It's okay." She said lovingly. Thunder picked up Rainbow Dash and laid her belly up. She blushed at this. Thunder gave Rainbow a light tickle on her belly, which caused Rainbow to laugh that silly laugh she's known for. Cadence licked Ariel lovingly.

Ariel tensed up for a moment, and then looked up at Cadence again as the loving princess curled around her. Somehow, it made the filly feel a bit safer, if only marginally so. Her ears perked when she heard Rainbow's laugh, a happy sound that also helped to make her feel better. And as Cadence licked her, Ariel found herself starting to relax, giving a little smile.

Cadence rolled on her back and placed Ariel on her flat and sleek belly. "Awww." Thunder said with a smile. "Cadence really likes you." Thunder said with a giggle as he continued to tickle Rainbow who was laughing sillily. Celestia giggled at this. Thunder was still in his Crystal form.

Ariel seemed to relax further, making herself as comfortable as she could upon Cadence's belly. Then, not a moment after, she was distracted by a glint of something she saw out of the corner of eye. Turning to look, she saw that it was her own flicking tail, still crystalline like the rest of her, catching the sunlight and sparkling. She giggled at the sight, being reminded that she was still a little Crystal Pony as she waved her tail from side to side, watching it glimmer.

Cadence giggled as well. "You like being a crystal pony don't you?" Cadence asked Ariel as she lied on her back looking at Ariel on her flat belly. Meanwhile Thunder had cuddled with Celestia. "Well...It feels like...royalty cuddling with you Princess." Thunder stated.

"Yeah!" Ariel giggled, still admiring her own crystalline tail. "I look so pretty!" She then paused a moment, and looked back at Cadence. "Princess Cadence, is this spell gonna wear off, or am I gonna stay a Crystal Pony?" she asked curiously, genuinely wishing to know whether or not the spell that crystallized her to begin with was temporary or permanent.

"When you leave the empire, it will wear off. Since the light from the magic of the Crystal ponies is flowing everywhere, you will stay a crystal pony." Cadence stated.

"Oh! Okay, then!" Ariel said happily, readily accepting that explanation for how the crystallization spell worked. Knowing that she would be a Crystal Pony herself for as long as she stayed within the Crystal Empire, the filly suddenly found herself liking the Crystal Empire a little more.

Cadence still lay on her back giggling softly as Ariel laid on her belly. "I could make my belly a little more comfy if you'd like." Cadence said with a giggle. Thunder laid on top of Celestia and was blushing lightly. "Wow Princess, I never knew you would let me do this." Thunder stated.

By this point, Ariel had curled up on top of Cadence's belly. She then looked at Cadence curiously when the princess mentioned that she could make it a little more comfy. "You can?" she asked, wondering how Cadence could do that; magic naturally being her first guess.

"Yes...but I won't do it here." She then noticed Thunder cuddled with Celestia. "Awww! Ariel, look!" Cadence said with a giggle, pointing to Celestia who was cuddling with Thunder Dash who was on top of her. Blitz and Rainbow had cuddled. "Ugh...I guess I don't have anypony to cuddle with..." Storm stated.

Ariel nodded at Cadence, then perked her ears curiously when told to look somewhere, her gaze following the princess's pointing hoof to Thunder and Celestia. She gave a smile and a giggle at the sight, finding it to be cute herself. Then she looked to Storm, still smiling. "You can come cuddle with us," she offered innocently.

Thunder rolled off Celestia and came to Ariel. "Why don't we go back to the house and cuddle. Or, want to learn about the Crystal Empire?" Cadence asked Ariel as she continued to stroke her fur lovingly. Celestia snuck on top of Thunder. "Oh you!" He said with a giggle.

Ariel closed her eyes, enjoying the stroking for a few moments before she looked at Thunder, and then looked at Cadence. She paused, then smiled as she answered, "I kinda want to know more about the Crystal Empire..." She truly was curious about this new place, and wanted to learn more.

"Well...okay." Cadence stated. "So where should we start...oh yes. A long time ago, before you were even born, the ponies here ruled themselves in peace and harmony. They were a special species of pony. They came about when regular earth ponies discovered a powerful crystal that was able to change them fully, giving them the ability to crystalize themselves and use the light within them to do certain things. Ponies soon found what is now The Crystal Empire. That crystal they found turned into the Crystal Heart, that kept the place powered by their continuous joy and happiness. But...evil sprung up. What the ponies did not know what that an evil spirit lurked. The spirit turned into an evil pony named King Sombra who invaded the Empire and enslaved every single pony. It wasn't until some of the Crystal Ponies used the light within them to defeat Sombra who had hid the Crystal Heart in his castle. He did not die the first time, and came back for a second chance to attempt to reclaim his kingdom. But he was defeated again, and this time, for good." Cadence stated as she continued to stroke Ariel's mane.

Ariel listened quietly as Cadence told the tale of the Crystal Empire, almost immediately fascinated with the story. In her mind, she was trying to imagine the scenes Cadence spoke up; her vivid imagination worked a little too well at that, causing her to shiver a little when the image of a monstrous King Sombra was evoked. Then she smiled when she found that there was a happy ending with Sombra's final defeat. She was quiet for several moments after Cadence finished the story, simply trying to process all of that new information about the Crystal Empire's past. After that, she uttered one word, not sure what else to say: "Wow..."

"Yes...it is a lot." Cadence stated. Thunder looked at the sun up above. It was a little past noon. Suddenly his stomach growled, loud enough for everypony to hear. "Oh, I guess it's lunch time already." Thunder said with a giggle as he rubbed his belly while laying belly-up cutely.

Ariel was quiet for a little while longer, still taking in the entirety of the Crystal Empire's story. Then she flicked her ears when she heard Thunder's stomach growl, her own stomach growling soon after. She had almost forgotten about even being hungry. She giggled, "I guess it is lunchtime!"

"How about we eat right here at the Crystal Cafe and then head back to Ponyville." Thunder stated. "That's a great idea!" Cadence said with a giggle as she gently placed Ariel on the ground and got up. Thunder and the others got up. "That felt really good snuggling you Princess." Thunder said to Celestia. "Glad you enjoyed it." Celestia said with a giggle.
