Are Ponies Naturally Good At Singing?

Spirit Rush

It's very easy to learn how to sing. As kids, we sing a lot, and soon, we're able to develop our singing as we grow older.

I think it's implied that some of them are, in universe, better than others (since Fluttershy was being lauded to the high heavens by everyone who heard her) and the musical numbers aren't actually a thing that really happens. That said, I personally think that the magic of the land makes them all good singers at specific times, but for some of them natural talent and training takes them further than others, hence the Ponytones and Sapphire Shores and whatnot.

It dosent mean that they are good at singing they are pros. They did so they can teach people.

Fluttershy and Rarity seem to be the actual singers of the group, since they actually perform on stage and such.  The others can sing, but only when it's a spontaneous musical where nopony would actually know the words.  It's just like any musical.  Like how every Disney character has a phenomenal voice for no apparent reason.

In reality, singing is extremely difficult.  To actually make a tune sound right is much harder than it looks.  I mean, anyone can sing f*ckin jingle bells and it sound fine, but try singing The Type of Pony Everypony Should Know outloud.  It just doesn't sound right at all.  Sooo much harder than it looks.  I have enormous respect for talented singers.  Most things are a lot harder than they look.  I typically have enormous respect for any talent.

@,

Except for dealing with stress, dealing with dragons, and anything not related to their cutie mark

And as for ponies being naturally good singers, no. It's just musical convenience

They are better than most humans are when dealing with those issues. I wish I could make a dragon move in a none violent fashion in under 22 minutes.

No, remember what came out of Scootaloo's mouth? 'Hey look, some younger ponies..' personally, THAT WAS THE WORST SONG EVER. I guess that they all don't, but they can sing.. What's even harder is that no technology exists in the pony world, so the only way to sing is to sing perfectly... or sing on a stage with all of Equestria at your hooves.

@,

That was one pony. Twilight, RD, and Rarity did about as well as any human against teen age punk dragons...they hauled ass.

How about Granny Smith being afraid of the Timberwolves, which are glorified sticks

Well, if I had two voice actors, I'd be good at singing too!

Feel free to add me on steam if you want to play something. Also don't be afraid to message and talk to me. I've had bad luck when I start a conversation, so I more then likely won't start one.

If bits of wood could form themselves into wolves and attack you, I'd be afraid too. Just think what the rocks can do.

@,

....AJ kicked a rock at the Timberwolves and they shattered to pieces. I could probably take apart a Timberwolf via brute strength when a freakin pebble kills them

And then that rock forms into a cragodile, and that cragodile forms into a storm giant. and then that storm giant breaks free the Titians.

@,

...I think you are being sarcastic. The Cragodile is made of rocks and much weaker than it should be

As is the case with any musical, I've never seen the songs in the show as instances of the ponies actually stopping what they're doing and breaking out into song; rather, song is just the medium through which chunks of the narrative are being told. It's a catchier way of relaying information than through straight exposition.

To support this thought, rarely do any of the ponies in the show actually acknowledge that they are singing (The Ponytones' music and a couple of Pinkie's random songs being notable exceptions).

AJ's an exceptionally strong pony, if you recall. Her kicking a rock at you would probably equate to getting shot with a fairly high caliber bullet.

Yea, and I am pretty sure that 5.56 or 7.62 x 39 couldn't do shit against a being that can just randomly rebuild themselves similar to Majin Buu, so yea I would also not mess with timber wolves!

It's still a rock. And the King Timberwolf, who by nature should be much stronger than his compatriots, also died to a rock. These things are scared away by the banging of pots and pans

It's still a rock.

And the damage it inflicts is massively different depending on how much force it is launched with. That's basic physics.

What's those random numbers?

Anyway, they can choke to death, come apart easily, are scared away by pots and pans, etc. They're probably flammable too.

Their regen is nothing like Boo's, Boo's was combat effective, it takes the Timberwolf a long time to reform

But it didn't shatter upon hitting it, did it? They are made of sticks in the end, so unless these sticks are super sticks, then it would be a matter of ease to just break the thing to pieces
