Just talk to her about it. I'm sure as your parent if you just explain that you enjoy a show, and that it isn't some odd fetishistic behavior. I'm sure she'll come to terms with it if you just talk to her about it in a calm sensible manner.

Have you tried asking her exactly why she has a problem with it?

Like asking her what particular aspects of a show that she herself (I'm guessing) hasn't even watched? Plus you could tell her of the already booming amazing fandom it's created. :V

Thank you Apple, I love it so much!

Normally I would just post the picture, but as it seems, it is too big to put in the signature here, so here is the link to my MLP personality test results:

Honestly....If she has a problem with something like that, then that is HER problem. Tell her about it, be honest, and if she has a problem with it, whatever, her fault. I kinda have a low tolerance policy for people actively getting angry at someone enjoying this show at this point. People need to get over it.

tell her " yo mom! I watch what I want, swag"

^I'd recommend this... Ummm... In a more polite and proper manner of which she might understand better... Ummm... If possible of course.

How about, "Mom, why you gotta hate"

On a serious note though, you should calmly bring up the discussion of.. since when was there an age or gender restriction on TV shows? MLP: FiM has proven itself 100 times over to be one of the most enlightening, educational shows with spunk, personality and humor in a PG manner. How in the **** can you be disappointed in something like that? It's way better than what adults digest on the TV these days.. -cough- Jersey Shore -cough- The Kardashians -cough- MTV -cough- I'm 16 and pregnant -cough cough chokes- x.x

Ummm... I... I guess, that's...... Better...? Kinda... :/

I would probably say to her specifically "Umm... Mother, you see... There comes a time in each child's life where they have a bit more freedom and independence of choice... Such as what video games to play, which TV shows to watch... And of course the big one... Which college to attend... Now you see, this may seem a bit odd to you, as there would happen to be this television show on the air currently by the name of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic... Now you see, from the name alone you could probably guess that it is indeed, My Little Pony, like that old toy lineup that had a show created shortly after mostly for marketing initially... Now you see, this is a newer iteration of this whole series, and is actually relatively not nearly as much commercially a "girls-only" kind of deal as some of the previous parts were generally coined... Now this show has created an increasingly large fanbase of which is being expanded pretty much daily... Now I would like to let you know that I would just so happen to be a part of this "fandom"... You see, they call us all "bronies" and I am simply stating that I, as an increasingly independent young person, do in fact have enough free will, to decide that I like this show and fanbase and am able to call myself a brony... And if you have a problem with that, I would advise you to please realize that the only person you truly can only control every single aspect of right down to the very core, is you... I am independant, and I will watch this show and become active in this community as I please... Thank you for your time."

^Now that is how you state your individualism ^3^

This is how I "came out".  I posted this on the Warframe forums, and had everyone I know read it.  Perhaps it will help you.

My mom is now a Pegasister, and we watch the show together.  After reading this post, my dad said that it should be published, that everyone in the world needs to read it.  I cannot overstate how lucky and deeply honored I am to have them as parents.

Be a bit more open about it, usually when you try to hide something, people will most definitely think its bad.

That and you will miss out on making friends, I kept my bronyness to myself for eight months and was too afraid to talk to other bronies...

Thanks all of you but I discussed it with my friends and I have come to a conclusion. I'll leave mlp on my lock screen, and home screen we are going to Claire's to get new earrings (I lost mine :( ) I realized they had pony merchandise last time and was afraid to ask but I'm going to buy it with my Claire's card when she isn't looking (and then she'll be right behind me :P DUN DUN DUN) and display it on my dresser.

Ask her why would it be a problem if you watched MLP? I mean, if need be, you can bring up alot of really bad things you COULD be doing, but you're into a show about friendly, multy colored magical ponies.

If your mom has an issue with that, then she's not a good mother.

Feel free to add me on steam if you want to play something. Also don't be afraid to message and talk to me. I've had bad luck when I start a conversation, so I more then likely won't start one.

Honestly, should just follow the advice above. But if you really insist on not telling them, I understand I was like that for two years. Now if you really must hide it, my biggest advice would get a laptop. Get a laptop and sit somewhere in your room having you body face the door, with the laptop on your lap, so they do not see whats on your screen when they walk in. That way you watch ponies and be on the forums with out them knowing XD worked for me for two years!

Seriously though, you should just be open about it. Maybe not super open but you shouldn't be afraid to admit it. And you'd be surprised how many bronies out there, there might even be some at your school or work that you can friends with. And if you parents question it, just answer honestly.

First of all, i think that's a great idea. I'm kind of shy about being a brony too, but we shouldn't be! There's nothing wrong with liking ponies :D

Second, i did not know claire's has pony merch. Excuse me while i claire's...

And third, i think the person who said gay meant "kay". Girl bronies of all sexualities are fab though ;)

If someone has a problem or their own ignorant opinion about something, their the ones with the problem. Just a bunch of media following, social-norm enforcing a-holes if you ask me.

My family and friends don't know I like My Little Pony either :P It's not something they have to know I think... I just enjoy it without letting other people know 8)

There are far worse things a person could do besides watch a cartoon about ponies. It's not explicit and in fact encourages good behavior and teaches valuable life lessons. And it makes you happy. So your mom should be glad that you like such a great show :)
