Remakes of Ruby and Sapphire have been announced! What are your thoughts and hopes for the new games?

 

Personally, I'm just super hyped for all of it. Hoenn in 3D is gonna be amazing.

The fact that they're remaking Hoenn is no surprise to me. They already did it with Kanto and Johto. What's weird is that I can remember R/S coming out. I was 11 or 12 at the time. I threw in the towel with Pokemon long ago. I simply got bored with it. But it'll always have a special place in my nostalgic heart

I really hope they keep the Pokemon Contest unchanged because this was when they were at their best. Also, just imagine being able to trade and visit Secret Bases over the internet.

My first thought is "FINALLY!" I mean it figures the would eventually remake hoenn but the fans have been asking for this since the release of HeartGold and SoulSilver. Needless to say, I am hyped to travel hoenn on the 3ds.

Oh my gosh YAY! I've been waiting on these. Gen 3 was my least favourite when it was released, purely because you couldn't catch any of the old Pokemon. But the Hoenn region itself is gorgeous, and I'll bet I'm going to love it on the 3DS.

 

This will likely be the last remake we see for quite some time now, unless they decide to do another Kanto. (Wouldn't blame them. It's a classic.) It'll mean every region is now available on DS or 3DS cartridges, meaning they can all play on the same system. Pretty awesome.

 

And Gamefreak, oh Gamefreak, I am loving you and your simultaneous worldwide releases. That's how everything should be done. As an Australian, I salute you.

They're not mega evolutions. They look exactly the same as they do normally, save the glowing of the lines across their bodies. If I recall correctly, these same lines have been shown to glow in the past games.

*Ahem* This is awesome. I loved Ruby and Sapphire, easily some of my favorite games in the entire series and I was hoping so much that his would happen. I am really enjoying X so far and R&S had some of my favorite features and Pokemon in the series too. :3

I can't see where they stated any of that will be core to the remake. Also, mega evolutions and the fairy type aren't a gimmicks, they're mechanics. Dragons needed more balancing, anyway.

You don't need fairies(makes no sense). Why not make them weak to steel type? You know, swords and knights?

FINALLY! I've been waiting years for this to come out! Sapphire was my first Pokemon game, and Blaziken my first ever Pokemon, so I know what I'll be choosing!

I wasn't a totally huge fan of Ruby/Sapphire but I enjoyed it. R/S were the last Pokemon games I owned and played until this past Fall with X/Y. Looking forward to getting the remakes.
