Is having my oc be a mental asylum escapee too edgy or deep4thou?

It depends on how it is done. If they escaped via "killing all the guards, and using their phyco abilities to fashion a key from the innards of small children" then yes, but say the asylum had a natural disaster and was damaged enough for an inmate that had enough mental standing to want to escape and not murder people and hang them from the gym roof then I would not find fault in it.
