matt0044 3 May 21, 2014 Share May 21, 2014 (edited) I don't think it's all too GREAT but I never thought it was awful. Anyone else feel the same?(Kindly refrain from any rage or hate please. Just... DON'T! Okay?) A friend of mine had this to say on EQG too: http://crossreviews.tumblr.com/post/76503097773/thank-you-based-god-that-this-came-out-okay-ive Edited May 21, 2014 by matt0044
ghostfacekiller39 23,860 May 21, 2014 Share May 21, 2014 (edited) Personally, I'm a fan of Equestria Girls - I found it to be very entertaining and enjoyable, as well as a nice change of pace. A palette cleanser, if you will Of course, there's numerous plot holes and unreached potential - there was several good opportunities for storyline that missed out on, as well as a rushed story line, and somewhat bad dialogue - while I personally enjoyed it, the criticisms against it are certainly understandable However, just because someone else dislikes something doesn't mean you have to as well - sure, I speak out against Rarity hate all of the time, but that's for personal reasons rather than because I feel like it's attacking my fandom of my waifu Just sit back and form your own opinions - if they get challenged, remain open-minded to new possibilities. Zekromic 1,054 May 22, 2014 Share May 22, 2014 I'll stick to my ground, EG is FAR from flawless, but it's also far from AWFUL too. But liked that it made the set for new possibilities exploiting MLP, namely, our favorite characters in a different world and new ones now that Equestria Academy is comming
Castle Bleck 19,392 May 22, 2014 Share May 22, 2014 (edited) Why does Spike have to become a dog while everypony else (even the Diamond Dogs) gets to become humans? Why is Sunset's "master" plan an insult to everybrony's intelligence? But other than those 2 things, good movie. Edited May 22, 2014 by A.V. Banul 3,831 May 22, 2014 Share May 22, 2014 I don't think it was bad, I just wasn't into it. High school drama isn't my thing, had plenty of that already.
The Coffee Pony 1,390 May 22, 2014 Share May 22, 2014 I loved Equestria Girls myself and I look forward to the sequel and television series! If anyone doesn't like it no problem, it doesn't appeal to everyone. Just don't demand Hasbro cancel the series and scream "PONI NOT YOOMAN!!!" matt0044 3 May 22, 2014 Author Share May 22, 2014 Why does Spike have to become a dog while everypony else (even the Diamond Dogs) gets to become humans? Cuz' he's so cute. And there is this idea: Spike, a bipedal creature, is reversed when he goes through the mirror, and becomes a quadruped. Twilight, a pony, goes through the mirror, and becomes the opposite: a biped. Wait, where were the Diamond Dogs now? Why is Sunset's "master" plan an insult to everybrony's intelligence? Because it isn't. I think TV Tropes here broke it down well: "People point out how Sunset intends to bring brainwashed teens into her world where'd they'd be overpower by the Princesses and even Discord. Those same people forget what she did to Snips and Snails and what she could do to her army. And even then, would Celestia be able to risk harming others being controlled against their will? I think we're all forgetting something REALLY important here: if Twilight and Sunset became human after passing through the mirror gate, doesn't that mean the entire teen zombie army would be transformed into ponies after arriving in Equestria? That, combined with Sunset Shimmer's brainwashing powers and her aforementioned ability to transform her servants into demons would give her the means to effectively conquer over all Equestria. AND even if a normal human would take some time to get used to their new pony form, under the control of real Equestrian pony like Sunset, they probably wouldn't have to worry about that. A touch of Fridge Horror: It just hit me how Sunset Shimmer could've brainwashed the princesses...

Adorkable 2,737 May 22, 2014 Share May 22, 2014 I personally adored Equestria Girls. ^^ I mean, think about it. It's Twilight Sparkle with hands! It's best pony and Lyra's dream come true. ^^ That, and Twilight Sparkle just looks soooo cuuuute! I can't wait for the sequel. ^^
Flash Fire 386 May 22, 2014 Share May 22, 2014 From a kids perspective, my 2 kids (age 11 & 9) will often put EQG on more than FIM. I personally enjoyed the songs, even if the plot as flawed. BayoUni2847 528 May 22, 2014 Share May 22, 2014 Equestria Girls gets more hate than it should. I understand it isn't ponies and has a very generic "teens in high school" vibe to it, but it's still an enjoyable experience. Seems like more people will enjoy Rainbow Rocks more because it doesn't have some of the problems like the original. But that's just what I think from watching the shorts. Yeah, I have faith that Rainbow Rocks will improve EG's image, and even more with Equestria Academy, since the introduction to the world of EG was done PD: instead of nay, it should be NEEEEEEEIGH sayers XD
cuteycindyhoney 13,322 May 23, 2014 Share May 23, 2014 I enjoyed Equestria Girls. It was a fun movie. I don't care if lots of bronies denounced it. I loved it, and am looking forward to Rainbow Rocks. Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!
Anci3ntArtiFact 66 May 23, 2014 Share May 23, 2014 I quite liked EQG, but, something in it.... seemed extremely cheesy. And I literally had to turn off the TV at the part where Sunset Shimmer turns into a demon thing. I'm sorry, but I am freaking terrified of demons. I'm more scared of them than I am of death and spiders, and that's saying a LOT. Then, with all that, there was the cheesy romantic high school stereotypical love...
