Celestia vs Luna

Luna decides to take the throne again, without transforming so she stays in control of herself. Celestia has had enough of Luna's bullshit and decides to fight all out, not holding back. Same with Luna.

 

They are fighting in Canterlot and if needed, can call upon their guards to help them. Twilight and Cadence are watching the brawl and will protect civilians so that there won't be any collateral

 

I think Celestia wins, she's more calm that Luna. Being angry and reckless in a battle never ends well. That along with the fact that I believe Celestia is slightly stronger

You are aware this is a vs match right? You have to give reasons why you think Luna wins.

 

I think Celestia wins because Luna needed to transform to match her and she's more calm in general, unlike Luna who will go berserk

I agree with this. Although Nightmare Moon is a tough cookie, it was Luna's strongest 'form', and Celestia still beat her.

 

After all, she is the older and stronger sibling. Getting too angry can cause loss of focus, resulting in lack of concentration.

 

If Celestia is calm, she can focus more on her attacks and develop a stable strategy.

 

At least, that's how I see it. ^^

Neither have elements anymore, none have been shown to win in combat, so it'd be a huge stalemate.

To be fair, it was the Elements that beat NMM. However, Celestia wasn't trying to fight either. She never fired any shots, she just wanted to avoid bloodshed

Okay. I will post reasons. There are ways that Luna could still beat Celestia without transforming. Yes she is not as powerful as Nightmare, but things such as the Alicorn Amulet perchance, could give her an immense boost of raw power without the need to transform. And since she'd already "going for blood" essentially, the amulet's corruption would really have no effect. I do see the point of her doing it in blind rage and the problems that would occur with it, but that also means no restraint and no fear to push it passed any safe limit of to beat Celestia. In all, it would be a battle that would make Tirek pee himself, and the outcome could be anypony's guess. (If there is anypony left in the area by the time it's done.)

Celestia is older (though probably wiser - I doubt there's much too read being banished to the moon), which leads me to assert that Luna probably has more stamina than Tia; and unless we are assuming that Luna is unable to go past her own power plateau unless transforming into NMM

 

(DBZ-ish ex: if Luna's power lvl is 300~ and NMM's is 600~ (basically around double, or so) we are assuming Luna cannot go to, say 320-330+, but only directly to NMM level) is this the general consensus?

Celestia is older, but that does not mean she has less stamina since she appears to still be in her prime. Being older doesn't always mean you have less stamina. To use DBZ as an example, Cooler and Vegeta come to mind as people older than their rivals(Freeza and Goku)

 

I don't think Luna is that weak. To use a ratio, I have it like this

 

Luna is 5% weaker than Celestia

NMM is about 10% stronger

 

And as for your question, that is correct. Without transforming, she cannot access any power that's in between. Some transformers can't even do that(Freeza for example cannot suppress his second form to match his first)

Technically the only reason Celestia was able to beat Luna was with the elements of harmony, which she no longer has access too, plus she doesn't want to hurt her sister.

I imagine that Celestia and Luna would be evenly matched. Maybe they'll kill each other, then Twilight and Cadence will have to raise the sun and moon. Just because Celestia is older doesn't mean she's stronger. Just look at Zuko and Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Azula was stronger than Zuko.

 

In order to decide a winner, we have to pick favorites, so... LUNA WINS!

But just for fun, (hypothetical alert): since Luna has the ability to go into/view everypony's (I'm assuming everypony, since in Twilight's Kingdom, pt 1: she came into Tia's room already knowing of her dream/vision of Tirek) dreams, maybe she has stumbled upon or knows a weakness or some info that she can use against Celestia. Again, hypothetical

Luna might probably win or Celestia could turn the tide, who knows?

 

Celestia could win even if she does taunt her and is more level-headed but that could lead to her downfall as well as she could at some point get pretty cocky and her victory could be a hollow one since she will cost them their love for each other. But honestly, it's a stupid idea since Celestia didn't want to hurt her sister in either way in the first place and she regretted for her life over defeating her sister in the season 4 premiere when Twilight witnessed what had happened between them. Celestia isn't very powerful and just because she is stronger than her sister doesn't mean that she will win; she does have prices to pay for her victory against Luna, giving her a hollow victory and making her efforts to save her sister from the darkness that corrupted her worthless until 1000 years later when Twilight and her friends awakened the Elements of Harmony.

 

Even if Luna does go berserk, there was a chance that she could've won since her jealousy for her sister's milking of her own pride and her rage that was awakened could've given her a clear opening and not only that, but Celestia couldn't do anything to convince her to return to her normal self since she pushed her own sister to the point of trust and betrayal and not only that, even with/without the darkness, she can still be evenly matched with her own sister.

Pretty much all of your post is disregarded by the fact that both are bloodlusted. Celestia won't give a damn if she blasts Luna to dust and vice a versa.
