Factoids of the Living Dead: POLTERGEIST

Whenever I'm talking to people about horror movies that genuinley scared them, the movie I hear the most frequently cited is Poltergeist.     Yeah, that sounds about right.   - Partially based of an the true story of Cheeseman Park in Denver, Colorado, where the city council built the park over a cemetery without moving all the bodies. The park is now supposedly cursed.   - Was almost written by Stephen King.   - Though Tobe Hooper is credited as the director, and though his involveme

Pony.FM Critique: The "Hall of Fame"

A feature that will be published in the future (not in Beta 2) will be the Pony.FM "Hall of Fame," a showcase of the most high-quality music in this fandom, from people who are well-known to the unknowns. It's based off the panel system from OverClocked Remix, which uses a selections of judges who receive a song for review. Those songs that qualify are elected to the Hall of Fame, but those that don't don't get voted in.   While the intent for good quality is there, this is an idea that can li

Too Sick to Notice

Too Sick to Notice (G1.5 TV episode, July 3rd 1992, 11 minutes)   Summary: Bon Bon is jealous of her youngest sibling, and pretends to be sick to get attention.   The ice cream shop's interior is actually a rather 50's soda shop, actually, now that I think about it. The outside, having it look like a ice cream cone, is reminiscent of the Twistee Treat ice cream shops built in the 80's which did exactly that.   Bon Bon. In a rather silly hat. Early 20th century flapper interpretation of a 1

Imagine Dragons and Infinity Blade 3

You know the band 'Imagine Dragons?' The band that made the song 'Radioactive?' Well, they actually made the main them to the newest installment in the popular Infinity Blade series. The song is called 'Monster.' Link's in the bottom of the post. I also heard that Infinity Blade will soon be getting a PC release. I bet Valve is gonna be ALL OVER that with Steam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhSA9H9Iaqw

Factoids of the Living Dead: THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE

The post you are about to read is an account of the frustration which befell a group of filmmakers, in particular Tobe Hooper and his disgruntled cast and crew. It is all the more hilarious that they didn't see any of these problems coming.   But had they had a much, much easier production, they would not have comprehended nor would they have been able to achieve as much of the mad and macabre masterpiece as they were to make in that time. For them a horrible experience making a cheap exploita

Slumber Party

My Little Pony Tales   In 1992, several years after the prior series ended in 1987, a new My Little Pony series started up. Still produced by the same animation studio, but this time Hasbro went directly to the studio rather than going through Marvel like they had before.   Originally, Hasbro's deal with Marvel covered all of Hasbro's properties, Transformers, G.I. Joe, and My Little Pony, amongst others. But while Marvel put out comics and cartoons for the other franchises, they only produc

25 Years Ago Tonight, Kirk Gibson's Walk-Off Home Run

Twenty-five years ago tonight, one of the greatest home runs was ever hit.   The Los Angeles Dodgers recently completed a wild seven-game upset of the heavily favored New York Mets. Kirk Gibson, the eventual NL MVP that year, was a big factor offensively and defensively. The pitching roster was relentless with Orel Hershiser (who recorded a save in the NLCS), Tim Belcher, John Tudor (who would injure his elbow during the World Series), Jay Howell (who was suspended for two NLCS after being cau

Factoids of the Living Dead: GODZILLA

Couldn't find a good gif, so I made one.     The King of the Monsters deserves no less. I've provided the following tune to establish the evening's tone. Please repeat the song how many times you need to finish reading this.     - Originally envisioned as a giant octopus, before the look of a giant ape with a mushroom shaped head (because mushroom cloud) was considered.   - "Gojira" is a combination of the Japanese words for "gorilla" and "whale". A popular idea has it that this wa

Mobile Gamers

There are plenty of handheld systems like the 3DS and PS Vita, but there is another breed of handheld gaming; Apple products. I play games on Apple devices from time to time, but I mostly just stick to games like Mario, Sonic, GTA, and that sort of thing. But, I know people who call themselves gamer... but mobile games on Apple products are all they play. Personally, if all someone plays is games on Apple devices, I don't consider them a gamer. Though, I know a lot of people who think otherwise.
