  1. First, they break you.

Then, they seek to destroy everything you worked hard to get.

Then, they throw everything including the kitchen sink at you to cause you to have a breakdown.

That results in your mindset, your wellbeing and your mental health collapsing like a house of cards.

So you then disappear and go off the radar for four years to get away from the thing you once loved.

People then start wondering if you carked it and hope for the day you return.

    Well.....

    That day is now.

From a broken down, twisted, marked to be scraped for parts comes a brand new person rebuilt and redesigned from the ground up.

As the age old saying goes:

"What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger."

  2. "Now..which way do these batteries go in?"

    *inserts fresh set into compartment*

    We...are...back...in...business!

    Let the Pony Renaissance begin!

      *ahem*

"Get em outta here! We don't need your negative energy!"

  3. “We are going all in on season eight to be our own version of the Disney Renaissance.

We want those who are hurt by the harmful and damaging actions of a few rogue and renegade fandom members to give My Little Pony another chance.

We want to start on a clean slate.”

  4. You won't believe this, but in my case.... Never. (gasps around the room) But there is a good reason behind why! *lists off of things such as anxiety issues, stress, depression, negative thoughts (from my last experience in the fandom) that keep getting pushed into the front of my mind and going through a few life changing events* Will get around to seeing it in 4-5 weeks time. (In the comfort of my own home obviously....)
  5. “Is there a road to recovery after a bad experience?”

”Can a burned bridge be rebuilt?”

    ”Can broken friendships be mended?”

”Do I have to watch any seasons I missed before I dive into the movie?”

Just going through a checklist of things at the moment. On a rebuilding journey of sorts and wanting to avoid the mistakes of what happened last time.

  6. Here are some tips to have a healthy fan base/life balance:

    * Take things at your own pace. Don't let someone or something pressure you into watching something (e.g. episode, movie etc) that suits their time and schedule. You have a life to live so make those days count and decide when YOU are ready to see it.

    * Maintain a healthy lifestyle both physically and mentally. Try to aim for 30 minutes of exercise, three or four times a week alongside a healthy diet (leave some room for cheat days and treats) and drinking plenty of water.

    * Sleep for at least 7-8 hours a night. Seeing episodes live can be fun, but if you live in a unfavourable time zone (e.g. AU/NZ) where the show airs at 2 or 3 in the morning, it's best to give that screening a miss and seek the on demand options available. Don't risk a lack of sleep and health problems just to catch up on a TV show/movie franchise.

    * Unless required, stay away from social media sites, especially in this current toxic climate where a single post could result in a attack. Use that time to focus on activities that you enjoy instead.

By following these steps, you can help stay smart, be healthy and be a fan at the same time.

*A public service message brought to you in the best interests of safety, health and well being*

  7. (Now a visit to the vault to dig up this gem of a classic)

”You didn’t like the movie? Go and (insert hurtful and harmful words here). We don’t want Debbie Downers like you ruining our fun.”

...and this is why I have a LOT of confidence rebuilding work to do to even considering or even plan to watch “that film that I can’t mention it’s name because if I do I’ll be torn to shreds” any time soon.

Not ready to face up to it yet.

  8. Ugh.

    Another Christmas in the books.

Don’t ask me how it all went.

Things went well in the beginning, then the “you know what” started again. (and had no choice in the matter, will be the same next year)

  9. Peace.

    Love.

    Goodwill.

  10. If you live in a area where you have a container deposit scheme (e.g. NSW, SA or the NT in Australia), remember to hang on to your cans, bottles and cartons for that $0.10 (or equivalent) refund at any collection point or reverse vending machine! Every little bit helps in keeping your area clean!

  11. When the oven in the kitchen decides to have the thermocouple fail, come loose off its screw and get bent out of shape due to the heatwave (and no parts for it until mid-January), you have to improvise and cook your Xmas cake on the BBQ with a hood to keep the heat in...

  12. Mark down this date.

    Thursday 7th December 2017.

    6:00pm.

The Australian Government finally said Yes.

    It is now official.

    The fight is over.

  14. *Having a bad day so far* (Thank the AUS & PNG Governments for causing a humanitarian crisis)

Have some adorkable Twilight instead. Because a little adorkableness can brighten up a bad day.

  15. It’s going to take a lot of assertiveness, confidence and initiative from me even to just to even look at the MLP brand as a whole again.

I skipped two seasons and gave the movie a miss.

Confidence completely shattered to bits. (no fault of my own. OK, some of it was caused by me, but the bulk of it was from another forum I dare not name that did some screwed up stuff)

    EQG is still OK though.

  16. Remember this date.

    November 15, 2017.

    The day Australia said “yes”.

A great weight has since been lifted from my shoulders. For years I had to fight (my mother mainly) even to get accepted for who I truly am. Now with the country giving the thumbs up, I can now progress further in my journey.

I remember when the US finally legalized same-sex marriage back in 2015. It was a good day. Although, all but 3 states (Alabama, Kentucky, and Texas) aren't issuing marriage licenses, but those states suck anyway.

I wonder what the after-effects will be, seeing as it was a 61.6% to 38.4% vote. I have a feeling that 38% is going to be butthurt about it.

The bigots lost, and that's good. :D

@Vulon Bii Oh yes they probably will be. Their type gets offended by things they don't like so easily, I could probably do it literally by WALKING.

  17. “The more things change, the more they stay the same.”

Been doing some soul searching since my last visit here, mainly sifting through memories of things I now regret doing.

I did a lot of stupid things in my past too. I'll continue to make some mistakes but I'll try everything to make good things happen too. We can both get better at ignoring regret and step forward to the future. :)

  18. What part of the word "leave me alone" don't you understand?! This is now getting beyond a joke. Just, just leave me out of it. I quitted for a reason and I'm sticking by my story.

  19. So....this is how we are going to play huh? Call me out on my opinions then try and prove me wrong by sprouting your BS?

I'm sorry, this is why I gave up on it. It's a lost cause, move on.

  20. "I'm sorry. Not even Flurry could save this burning train wreck. It's now long gone."

  21. Yikes. There's bad, really bad and absolutely HORRIBLE. (and you gotta wonder why it's really doing downhill)

  22. I vowed not to return to my old ways which almost nearly saw the end of me when I decided to move on. There was a dark time in my life where I thought I had the best fandom position as a forum newswriter, great friends and the bad food was a way to keep awake to see episodes live. Today though, I look back and I regret every, single thing that I did during that time. I almost headed to a early grave thanks to the poor diet, the friends I thought were great instead stabbed me in the back (and got me banned, fired and exiled), the show ended up being a mess after S5 (and in my opinion, is past it's prime) and I'm having reoccurring nightmares from time to time. The only good thing about MLP these days for me is the Equestria Girls arc, but my fandom and show days are over.

  23. "...and that's strike three. You're gone." The moment when I was betrayed, banned, fired and exiled from a forum for standing up for myself.

      Ouchies.

on occasion mods have a reason.

I know that feel, though. Happened with a bunch of people I thought were good friends.
