And what's really sad about it is that there are people out there who seem to actually want the police to be authoritarian and brutal towards the people they should be "protecting and serving."

I hear policing it a f***ing lot different elsewhere and, shocker, it WORKS. Police don't shoot 1000 people every year elsewhere (yeah not even accounting for non-shooting deaths by police) and yet the law is enforced.
