Well like it said, she's laid back and loves comics, but she's also self-conscious about her appearance. She's very playful and flirtatious towards Spike, which makes the Mane Six 'awww', but Rarity go 'bleh '. When Rarity sends the rest of the batponies to claim Night Tooth, it breaks both Night Tooth and Spike. Rarity had no idea it would give Spike pain to see her go, she thought it would make him come back to her. But she was wrong.
In the end, Rarity fixes things, Spike is happy again, and Rarity explains everything and apologies. Spike does claim he does still have feelings for Rarity, but knows that she isn't interested, but Rarity does admit there COULD be a future with her and Spike when he gets older, but for now, Spike is happy with Night Tooth, and vice-versa!
PERFECT conclusion to the Sparity arc, but there is still hope so the Sparity fans wouldn't feel broken! This is an 'everybody wins' scenario!

Synopsis (Part 1): Ponies at the Crystal Empire start getting possessed by a strange curse that Princess Cadance feels it connects to King Sombra. Twilight and the Mane Six must locate where the disturbance is coming from before it affects more ponies, and she brings the Elements of Harmony along with her just in case.
Synopsis (Part 2): When King Sombra destroys the Elements of Harmony and brainwashes all but the Mane Six, Twilight starts to think that she and her friends are not as strong in friendship as they used to, judging by the destruction of the Elements and the brainwashed insults Spike, Starlight, the CMCs, the princesses, and pretty much all their friends that start bringing onto the Mane Six.

(S8 SPOILER THEORY POST)
Season 8 is lookin' pretty good for Spike! Firstly, Spike was absent for alot of season 7. Would the writers just do that for no reason? Maybe. But one of the possible reasons could be since he might get a bigger season next season, they have to give the rest of the main cast more focus so they can have a chance to be heroes again before giving Spike his season.
Secondly, if Stygian turns out to be the legend counterpart for Spike, that's one reason, but he's got the traits to both him and Starlight, so it's hard to tell which.
Thirdly, with Star Swirl back AND Tirek coming back, that brings Scorpan coming back to be a probability, and since Scorpan and Spike were close back in G1, it increases the chances!
Let's see what happens! If Spike's BIG season isn't next season, it should come sooner or later! The show's not ending yet!

Jeeeeez! Holy Wizard of Feelings! I gotta stop putting my hopes up like this! How can I say this without spoiling? Now that "he" is back, another "he" might appear on the show, and that means "my favorite he" could have HIS season!
