  1. Laughed out loud at that one, good show! The sad irony is that we're not too far off from this being a reality.
  2. I've earned over $80000 in scholarships over the years. Took a 42K one to the current private school I go to, attend said institution on the arm. If it weren't for said scholarship, I'd be too poor to even walk in the door. Kind of a big deal for me and my family.
  3. So this entire thread was an appeal to the members and the moderators for no one to get banned? I'm having trouble seeing your reasoning for posting this thread.
  4. I never said you were complaining at any point so it does delight me - to no small extent! - to see that you've riddled out that dilemma for yourself as to whether or not you were actually complaining. Good show. On that note, do consider how the way the site is set up right now, combined with the nature of the holiday, provides a foreground for the general ridiculousness of these threads in keeping with the mood of the holiday and of the site itself. Normally your argument would have a level of credence if it weren't for the fact that the moderating team is not only aware of the notion but is implicitly endorsing it within the confines of civil levity. If things get out of hand, as I've said, I do not imagine that it would be too difficult for the team to pick up on this and put an end to the recent behavior. You aren't the arbiter of what the rules are; Feld0 and, transitively, the moderating team are. If there was a problem present, it's without a doubt that they'd be there to handle it in seconds. You need to loosen up a bit, is all. Does that make sense at all? I'm currently dusting as I reply to you in bursts so I do apologize if I've left something unaddressed.
  5. I guess I kind of understand where you're coming from, saying as much, but I think you're jumping at ghosts a bit. For one thing, this levity seems to be sanctioned by the administrative / moderation team in its entirety. Have you browsed at all on the default skin? Have you looked at Feld0's profile recently? If I had to guess, I'd say that the mods and whatnot are lucidly aware of what's going on and you shouldn't let your jimmies be rustled enough as to where you feel the need to make a bit of a PSA about it. Beyond this, if the team were to decide to ban people due to recent behavior - which, again, given the context, I doubt that would happen! - this thread would likely do little to nothing to prevent that fact. I do feel that you should loosen up a bit. It's the nature of the holiday and things are under control, no matter how "chaotic" they might seem. No need to give a list of what's going on and what's being posted. I'm aware. You're aware. The moderation team is entirely aware. We're all online, we're not clueless and we're not above keeping control of our actions. As mentioned before, this thread will likely do nothing to prevent punitive actions being taken if, by some awry twist of fate, they are taken. It's not your job nor your position to tell people what to do or what not to do. If the moderators thought there was a problem, we're all sure that they'd be on it in seconds. They're entirely capable and do not need you to do their jobs in lieu of them. While I'm sure it's appreciated to some extent, try to read into the context of a situation more before making a thread like this, mm? Eh, do us - or, at the very least, me - a favor and try not to make statements on behalf of anyone else. We're autonomous enough and self aware enough to apologize of our own accord should we feel it's necessary. Thanks.

  7. HEY BIG BOY HOW YOU DOING MMMM Obviously I am your big crush, Zoop.
  8. You're right, I've been quite deprived in the sleep department. Something of an issue that I intend to remedy over spring break. x)
  9. Jesuit school here, Catholic by association! You know, a lot of people tend to give the idea of uniforms heat. I rather like them, though!
  10. Monster every Monday morning, makes me more aware.
  11. That hour of horror when you're not sure whether or not your parents know that it's the end of the third quarter.

I get it now! What are your marks like as of now?

My dad doesn't really care about my marks, unless they're bad, which is often never the case. My mom will throw a fit though, if I get slightly low marks... hope it works out well in the end for you, though!

Adro, sorry it was unclear? I'm currently bugging out right now, lol, no one's forcing you to riddle through my paranoid status.

      I didn't check, Devy.

Ok, I have a plan. Since I don't understand what you are talking about (sorry) I will try not to understand. And thats how Equestria was made...

  12. I do not consider my visage to be a sort of universal panacea for man's day-to-day ails... but that you'd even suggest as much in jest is quite flattering!
  13. My music taste is borderline pansexual; I can thoroughly enjoy a song from a certain band or genre and wind up completely renouncing the rest of said genre. Other than this, electroswing, swing itself, rock, grunge, dark deco jazz, Swedish technopop à la Slagsmalsklubben and other things. I actually do enjoy rap quite a bit when it's not banal. Oh and whatever this is ; http://www.indieshuffle.com/volta-bureau-alley-cat/ Only think I abhor is insane, ear-bleeding types of metal. Nordic, I think? I don't know, my friend's big on it and gave me this whole spiel about how this one guy killed someone and called himself "Death" and I was sitting there, mouth agape, somewhat confused.
  14. There's something to be said for that, though! I'm sure it looks marvelous by the time you're done, honestly, given the effort put into it.
  15. Thanks! I tend to just give it a once-over with a hand towel and just let the night air from my window do the drying for me. It's quite refreshing!
  16. Well, I just got out of the shower not too long ago so, I mean, I guess this can be considered my take on a "wet mane" photo? Either way, pardon the awkward hand. I simply couldn't stand to just stare into my laptop camera with nothing but my head to show for a result. The notion does strike me as somewhat creepy, I'll admit. Needed to add something to the mix~ EDIT: Dumb lack of Flash 9, not letting me upload attachments.
  17. K, report on CNN about Jenna Talackova just made it all the more clear that coming out about my transgender woes to my parents is a situation all too far away. Didn't know my parents were that... intolerant, I guess?

If I may present my opinion on this, maybe they just find it funny and that's it. As much as it may sting, they are probably clueless on that you really are pre-operative and that they can't take this seriously until you tell them straight up.

I don't know, though. Maybe now's a good time to start trusting your parents more with this stuff and you may have to tell them sooner than you think.

TBH before I was a member of this site I used to scoff and giggle at transgender people on tv specials as well. But then after I met a small handful of members here who are going through it (and coming to terms with my bisexuality) I know understand more about it. Like Dev said perhaps they just don't understand it.

  19. You go to Boston College? God, that and BU are two colleges I'm absolutely dying to attend. I'm acquaintances with quite a few alumni from there and they've all been standup guys! I can't come to this but I'd absolutely love to hear how this turns out.
  20. Ouch, my cousin used to complain about those. Do things get all foggy for you preceding migraines?
  21. A warm welcome, Spider, to the boards! While it's inevitable that we run into a few spammers every now and then, you can rest assured that it's an uncommon occurrence here. You registered with the right brony community, my friend!
  22. I did it by complete accident one day since I firmly believe that making an active attempt to "convert" people is an exercise in both futility and social maladjustment. I had just gotten an iPhone and I was at Stage Crew one afternoon, helping set up props and costumes, making sure they were all prim and proper for the show later that night. One of my subordinates, a sophomore that I was decent friends with, asked if both if I had his number and if he could see my phone. I handed the device over to him. "Yeah, just add yourself in my Contacts and I'll show you it in a bit!" Being a bit jumpy, said kid added himself and then hit the Home button to play with my disappointingly scarce amount of apps. My Home screen wallpaper is one of Rarity - it's attached! - and being Internet literate as a result of hanging out with me and my friends, the kid noticed it immediately. A look of shock and awe struck his face. "Y-You're a brony!? You? That's so cool!" At this point, I'm desperately trying to explain to him that it's really not too big a deal and that he's making a bit of a scene. Having established myself as something of a role model for a few students where I study - himself included! - my capacity to enjoy something like MLP:FiM came as something of a dynamic shock to him. Fleshed me out a bit, made me more sensitive and relatable, I suppose. After he had calmed down a bit, he began to pepper me with trivia about the fandom and the show and what it's like being a brony and how you "do it right." It was a delightful conversation, in retrospect, and I was able to make it clear to a potential brony from the very exposition of their fandom that there are certain faux pas that are to be avoided such as "trying to convert your friends actively even if they show no interest" and "incessantly dropping references to the show in idle conversation that no one gets but you." A couple of days ago, the same kid comes up to me during our strike session wearing a Rainbow Dash tee under his sweatshirt. "Hey, Franky, I watched through the entire first season! It was great, I think I truly might be a brony!" And so it began... 'twas ever so fun, the conversations that followed. He maintains that Fluttershy is best pony and loathes Rarity whereas I'm the exact opposite. We discussed the show, the fandom, the realms of the fandom, Equestria Daily, user generated content and a few other things. What made it truly fun was the fact that our bronydom was not the defining factor to our interaction. No, rather, it was a supplement to an already enjoyable experience that made things more connected and fun. He's considering joining a few communities online and I might steer him here if he asks for my assistance. Cool kid, he is. Very amiable, spunky even. So yeah, that's my shtick. I accidentally made a brony and I wouldn't have done as much any other way.
  23. Incredibly flexible. Can do a full split, contort my body in incredible ways. If I were looking to put my head between my legs, I could do as much in a second. I'm also capable of standing on my shoulders, hands tied, and jumping back up onto my feet in one fell swoop. I'm just really dextrous and lithe.
