  1. I agree. I don't think any sane human being can fully understand the madness of the shooters thought process. This was all planned and calculated. He opened fire right at a gun/fight scene in the movie. According to what I heard, folks thought it was a part of the movie for the first initial seconds. Although its an inhumane and crazy act, the worst part of it is...it doesn't seem random. It seems calculated, planned, and coordinated. Once again though, thoughts to all effected physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
  2. It's funny, because although I have to work today, some of my other family members already planned to go to the shooting range today. I am not really "big" on guns, but they are a necessary tool for defense.

Of course, this may answer some questions, but raises countless more in the process in physics, mathematics, sciences, theology, history, and numerous other topics. Theory and science fiction is slowly becoming science fact. Another debate that pops up in my mind: If the "God Particle" is responsible for the beginning of the theorized big bang, what created the "God Particle"? (I have my thoughts based on my faith, but scientifically things are getting interesting) So many questions! That's what I personally love about the Universe.

  11. Well, let me tell you my story... I am an average 21 year old. I have chosen to do and not do certain things and to live a certain lifestyle. I am a man of faith, and can be very intellectual and "normal". I work in customer service, and can talk to anybody. But I think I have it easy: Because when I eat too much sugar or caffeine, I parade around the room, laughing at every possible thing, pull my shirt up over my head and yell "I AM THE GREAT CORNHOLIO" and other shenanigans. So naturally, when I tell people I am a brony, they really don't mind. And if they do, I don't mind. Cause they know I am already weird: as I am the most humble, kind, yet over analystic and interesting character when eating too much sugar. So conclusion, BE YOURSELF! Just be you. It's worked out for me so far And one time at work, I mentioned to a co-worker "Man, having a ten minute break right now would make things 20% cooler." He stopped me and said, "You know where that's from, right". I said "I do. If you know where it's from, that is awesome!". He said= "I SURE DO". I smiled and reached out my fist = "Brohoof?". He jumped up and said "YES! I am so glad you said something!" So if you also want to make some friends that share similar interest, take caution and use pick up lines.   13. I have to agree that this is pretty stunning. And here is the best convertible driver to go with the best convertible car! But in all seriousness, I think the Lotus Elise makes for a fun little "toy" convertible: While the Mercedes SLR pictured above, is most certainly more classy.

  15. This is what I love about science...because speculation and ideas are what lead us to start asking questions...and attempting to find answers to those questions! Of course, we know that we can peer deep into space with instruments such as the Hubble Space Telescope. There is just no way to accurately predict how big space is...especially if its infinite. But lets put your perspective in another way! Hundreds of years ago, we thought the Earth was flat. If you attempted to keep sailing the Earth in order to reach the end, you would be out of luck as it would seem to go on forever. The only proof we would have of it not spreading into infinity, would be if we recognized a landmark that we had seen before. Then we could draw conclusions from there. In the end, imagining space like an orb, in my opinion, is not that crazy of a theory. In fact, it would make more sense to us than infinity.
  16. I'm a pretty big import tuner fan. In my spare time, I enjoy taking my mint condition Acura Integra for a spin. It's also a daily driver, but I love the days where it's just you...your car...and the open road...no obligations! Those are rare moments. If you all are really into cars (especially driving), I highly recommend attending some high performance driving events, maybe some autocross, and there is a place on the North Carolina/Tennessee boarder called Deals Gap, nicknamed the Dragon Run. It's a pretty awesome stretch of road. It must be respected, but it is certainly the most flocked to enthusiast road in the united states. Did I mention it had 318 curves in 11 miles!? That should start some discussion! And since 2005, and still 7 years later, the 2005 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo is still my favorite American supercar. I think speed enthusiast like Rainbow Dash would approve of 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, aerodynamics that allow the car to be driven upside down past 170mph from some intense down force, and a top speed of 245mph with superior handling and agility!   17. Indeed, it is all fascinating stuff. Quite honestly, there isn't a enough words in any language to describe how fascinating it is. They say in regards to time (although we are limited by time), God and the Universe as no such limitation. So I believe you are 100 percent correct in saying, anything that could happen in any possible scenario or combination has happened, is happening, and will happen. It reminds me of a verse in a worship song, as well as scripture "Who was, and is, and is to come". In the business world, (more appropriately, science), mathematical modeling, statistical process control, and optimization models help to optimize and fully utilize certain processes, given a number of possible solutions based on ones X and Y variables. It's quite interesting, because although there are almost an infinite number of possibilities in any given problem, the true solution (in optimization) it to literally find the optimal solution, based on what you want and/or are looking for. Here is the relation: [without going into too much detail], a lot of the times, we find there is no optimal solution when the conditions are right. And if the Universe and everything in it has an infinite number of possibilities present in a given situation, we may SAY we can find optimal solutions and answers to science and mathematical problems...but the "solutions" can only go as far as the information we know. Conclusion: there may never be a true optimal solution to anything in this present life, as things in there current state can always be improved upon On an unrelated note, a theory exists that at the center of every galaxy, exists a black hole. On the animation, I found something called "The Great Attractor" = which, by it's behavior, seems to be some type of Mega Black hole? But instead of pulling in other stars in one galaxy, it's pulling in hundreds of galaxies closer to it. Its all VERY fascinating.
  18. Haha! Indeed. I guess it just puts everything into perspective. Its literally almost impossible to really fathom the scale of the universe we live in. (Not only that, but we are now discovering different dimensions and universes that make up multiverses etc, although only theory, some intense math and speculation does not disprove it...and this is where I draw the line. My intellect can barely handle THIS universe!). In the end, it's also neat to click on each image and learn more about it. Their descriptions are very easy to understand. I plan to do more research on the small particles, and large formations in space. Should be interesting
  19. It is certainly mind blowing how vast everything is! I for one, can barely remember locations of quotes in the Bible, what I had for breakfast most of the time, what a specific episode numbers' title is, and the heck...the proper firing order of spark plugs corresponding to certain cylinders on my Acura (I like cars!)...and there are only four cylinders. So ok, those were some weird examples, but the point is...we are so limited in our capability mentally and physically. But spiritually and emotionally, that's a different story. As far as we know, we are indeed the only place that offers something more than hydrogen gas and cosmic radiation....we have love. Love can not be measured, as it is something given to us by God. To paraphrase from CS Lewis, Love is something not of our own. Those that do not know God, believe their love comes from within. But those that know God, know that this Love is from God, and it's only when we recognize that our Love originates from God...is when we are able to freely give it back to Him, and to all others. And to specifically quote CS Lewis About friendship! : In relation to "The Scale of the Universe", take a look at the following images: One is Laminin, protein cell that literally holds our bodies together: What an interesting shape it's in, eh!? Colossians 1:17 "He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together". Here is another image: When scientist attempted to point the Hubble Space Telescope farther than it has gone before, it took a picture of this cosmic formation, 31 Million Light Years away from Earth! Now, I am a man of faith for sure. I am also interested and have studied many sciences. The more I read scripture, and the more I ask questions that are science related...it's amazing how beautifully they go together. Perfect harmony, in my humble opinion. There is so much more to discuss about these things! The Universe in general as well.............sometimes, we need only sit back and admire it all. Psalms 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
  20. That's a great concept to live by: except things with humility, and not a mindset of trying to understand everything. It reminds me of a related concept in business: "Don't be concerned with being right all the time, just make sure the right thing gets done." It may not relate entirely, but the concept of humility is present in both. In Christianity, humility is one of the most important aspects to live by. As far as a free pass goes, I like to think we are given a purpose and a job. Each person, whether they choose to follow the Lord or not, is given that free will to do so, and we are all given a mindset to try to understand what is around us. But, before we can learn how to run, we must walk first. Understanding pure love, tolerance (if you will), understanding, and compassion is level one...the most important level. Once you master level one, everything else falls into place. Love is the most important concept, since God is love. We have a lot to do before we even begin to understand the universe...but by learning how big and magnificent everything is, that in itself can help us to see one another with a more loving and embracing way...although we are so small, we still matter. (Although some scientist may say otherwise!) Before I go off into a novel, science and Christianity to me, go hand in hand. Everyone of course, has a different role and purpose to play. [i'll end here, although there is so much to discuss!] Indeed! A good observation. And I feel like I am simply quoting the animation, but strings exists only in one dimension (in theory) yet vibrate in all other known/existing dimensions. Simply, it gives a new meaning to what we consider reality. And on that concept of reality, consider this: = Wikipedia (not the most credible source, but it will do) What we have learned from the above quote is, each time we look toward the stars...we are looking into the past. In "reality", some of the things we see in the night sky...are not really there at all. Again, what really defines reality? Some say its what we make of it. Others say, its too broad a word. And even others say a persons reality is based on the reality to which they are presented...conclusion? = do we really know what reality is? In the end, the more we find answers...the more the questions grow exponentially!

Well, as you know, every brohoof ever given (in some way, shape, or form) goes back to the creator of the website in the first place I am thankful to the individual who put the time and effort into the project. What takes 10 min to scroll through (a couple hours to read and research) must have taken countless hours to put together. We have a lot of studying to do! (Twilight Sparkle would want us to read as much as possible about it!)
  22. A great quote indeed. So many questions arise from seeing "the big picture". One thing I found amazing, was that in string theory...at 10^-35, there is a huge gap until Neutrino at 10^-24. Is there even a smallest particle? With space, time, and dimensions, the answer is...we don't know. At 93 billion light years, our observable universe- we can see objects 46 billion light years away, based off of the animation (due to the expansion of space). And if space is constantly expanding, what's it expanding into? We just don't know! .....what went wrong. (We love you Derpy!)
