  1. Ugh, this guy who used to live next to me would throw cigarette butts on the ground outside his house. People advised me "Talk to him." How the hell am I supposed to talk to somebody about something they wouldn't be doing if they had a half functioning brain without swearing and calling him a moron???
  2. It really grinds my gears when people leave their yard sale signs up. I don't even go to yard sales, all they ever are is racks of old clothes. But if you put up a sign TAKE IT DOWN! Don't leave that garbage hanging there for weeks until the elements take it down for you!
  3. Chapters 9 and 10 are important ones. The part where they're trying to catch a falling star is cool.
  4. The only time I don't lock it is when I'm doing something outside or taking my dog for a walk. Nobody's gonna come up and try the front door in the middle of the day but I just automatically lock it when I come in.
  5. There are a few swords across the room. They're only what sword nerds call "wall hangers" but you could use them in a pinch.
  6. I dunno. I have Windows 10 here. Don't particularly like it and they're ending service soon. With Windows 10 ending soon and my PC being over ten years old I was thinking about a new one. Thinking about building my own. I'm woefully inept with technology but somebody told me "it's like legos these days." I definitely think a lot about the losing the ability to control your own pc thing. Is linux hard to learn for somebody who's only ever used windows and doesn't know much about it to begin with?
  7. A sci-fi novel called The Inverted World. It's really weird. Dimensions just seem to be stretching and distorting, including time. I don't know why yet.

    Book Stores

Yeah, that's pretty much every store. Emphasis on the shut up!
  9. Have you at least tried toaster strudels or toaster scrambles?
  10. I saw this movie Weapons. I thought it would be more of a mystery/thriller, and it was a mystery at the beginning, but it was really a horror movie. And it got kind of funny at the end. I enjoyed it.

    Book Stores

Book stores kind of suck these days. I understand that books aren't a big business and they have to do something else to turn a profit but I just don't like it. Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Lisa wants to go into a book store. Marge says "Well, I could use a muffin." Lisa says "I'm going up to the third floor where the books are." Well, at least they had a floor dedicated to books. I went to the newish Barnes and Noble nearby and I really hated it. It has this weird mazelike layout with books intermixed with legos, giftwrap, etc, etc. So hard to find anything! I just want straight rows of shelves organized by genre and alphabet. And of course a big part of it is the café. I don't like coffee! I guess people just go to the bookstore to get their legos and drink coffee these days.
  12. Yeah, I don't think the skull is alive, just animated a little by magic. Talking to inanimate objects is kind of her thing. That's why I thought it was odd that she was scared of the scarecrow. She was kind of friendly with it earlier.
  13. Did you check your pocket? This made me laugh. Hope I got the timing right.
  14. There's too much obsession with spoilers. I mentioned that there's a new King of the Hill episode where Hank has become a soccer fan and people were bitching that it's a spoiler. Who cares? Knowing what the episode's about doesn't stop you from enjoying it at all. Spoiler alert: At the end of Lord of the Rings the ring goes into the volcano! Does that stop anybody from reading/watching it? I read something a while ago that I agreed with that said all the obsession with spoilers reduces movies to nothing but depending on shock value and things like that are only worth watching once, they don't endure.
  15. Are they "coming back" yet??? I see CD and tape players in stores these days, and of course records are huge now. I've been waiting for MP3 players. I miss having one! What's a good one to get? I still have hundreds of albums organized on my computer.
  16. Chapter 7: It seemed odd to me how afraid Sophie was of the scarecrow when she's basically just taken all this other crazy stuff that happened to her. Chapter 8: And the Lettie and Martha situation deepens.
  17. So I watched the first few episodes of the first Dragon Ball from 1986. It's interesting. The animation is really old school and the story seems pretty young but there are a lot of sex jokes already. I know there are a bunch of Dragon Ball series but I don't know if they're all connected. The story seems so simple I don't know how they could stretch it out over hundreds of episodes. Anyway I started looking to see what are the longest series I've watched. Fairy Tail: 428 episodes over a couple of series. Several story arcs kept it interesting. Bleach: 366 episodes and a few movies. Probably the one I liked least. I liked a lot of the characters but it could really drag. Inuyasha: 193 episodes over two series and several movies. Could drag a little too but fun to watch. Legend of the Galactic Heroes: 110 episodes. The most mature story of any of these and a great long epic.
