  1. Another thing I would recommend is getting out there and learning a real instrument as well. If you look at music producers who have real musician experience, and compare them to those who don't, you can tell the difference. I realize not everybody has access to a real instrument. but even if it means buying a cheap MIDI piano and an instructional piano book. Once you start producing serious music, the piano can be one of your best friends.
  2. For me that is a scary statistic, it seems a little high. Where did you get 94% from? Something more like 60-80% wouldn't surprise me though. However, being a part of the fandom has really opened my eyes in terms of what kind of woman I would want to be with. Certainly being able to comprehend the existence of the MLP fandom is a great place to start. She has to have an open-mind.
  3. Amen. I think that a lot of people don't realize that they rely on the concept of a relationship too heavily. There is so much more you can do and accomplish without having to plan around the needs of another person. For me, the free-lifestyle is just too good right now. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Let's be honest, sometimes it sucks, but the benefits outweigh the cons.
  4. I'm single by choice, I've had relationships before but they honestly did me no good in the long run. I'm only 21, I need to focus on making as much money as possible right now, so that I can build a foundation to support a family later on in life. I've passed up opportunities for women simply because I wish to work on my professional life more so. Sometimes I regret this choice of lifestyle, don't get me wrong. there are times where I feel extremely lonely, and all I can do is tell myself that it's worth it in the long run. Hopefully? The hand gets boring after awhile though, I'll admit.
  5. Totally forgot about pony.fm, I think I'll do that right now, thanks for that! And thanks for the comment! Man if you enjoyed, hit that subscribe button, it really helps me out a lot and I appreciate everyone who does! Cheers!
  6. Just finished up a minimal/deep house track. It's my first track in this genre and it was definitely out of my comfort zone. But how did I do?
  7. Way more than I should, I would say somewhere between 6-8? If I have to put a mix together for a show or event, that jump to 8-10. My poor ears.
  8. Auditions sound like a good idea. If you haven't found anyone to make your music, I would love to help in that category. It really bugs me when people just use generic music.
  9. If I have time I would love to give it a shot, why not? I'm mostly into music composition and audio engineering, so I have that to bring to the table. If you need music or mixing advice, I'm your guy. Can't say I've got a great setup for VA though. I'm also quite busy, but I think this would be a lot of fun if I have time, I'm always looking for ways to offer my musical ability to others.
  10. Definitely stay away from old work. The only real way to improve is take the lessons you've learned from the old work and apply it to new projects. I could sit here remastering and and adding choruses to my old material, but I wouldn't get anywhere! Not that I could do anything at the moment because of this slump I'm in, but I totally agree with @@@Katella Avenue. I want to see you start something new and awesome! Little side story, I see a guy in the New York Subway all the time, who plays music with a sample pad and a Gameboy Color for an Interface. If you're able to integrate a PSP in your setup, that's totally rad!
  11. What Genre do I specialize? That's hard to say. When I DJ, I prefer to do more of an Electro, Electro house, fidget type of sound, but I'm a mobile DJ, I have to be able to do whatever other people want. So I guess the proper answer to that is anything Electro/Electro House really, if I had my choice. When it comes to production however, it's a bit complicated. I would like to get myself to the point where I can make music for other peoples projects, like animations, movies, etc etc. So far, people have told me that I have a more video-game-ish sound though, so I've been capitalising on that for a little while.
  12. Dude!! What???? That's so nuts that you were able to do what you did using that! I can't wait to see what you can do with a real program! You seriously just blew my mind right there, that's insane.
  13. Much better, I can see the text now, thank you! I think this does a pretty good job of summing it up. Bacon Maple muffins banana ! ha
  14. I would definitely recommend making the switch on your hardware, and going with FL. My ableton is coming up on 70 GB on my system now, and it certainly has no problem warming things up. To achieve proper latency with my hardware uses a lot of computing power. I built my computer specifically for Ableton. But yea, stick to what you've got. It's not really about what you have, it's about how you use it. FL is definitely a lot more friendly to less-capable systems. What are the specs on that system?
  15. None of those pictures appear to be loading correctly. It could be my connection, but could you repost those pictures? I'd like to read them.
  16. Hmm, although it's certainly an interesting concept, I find it a little bit weird. I think from a scientific point of view, it wouldn't be healthy for the offspring. If you've got 2 people re-producing who are very similar on a DNA level, the offspring would have very narrow DNA variation. However, I've always thought one of my cousins was really cute. Never really did anything about that hahahaha! I wouldn't feel ashamed at all if I were you.
  17. Your second track was pretty repetitive with the reversed beat. Maybe add a breakdown or a chorus with the original beat? I'm not all the way through yet, but I like your sound. You've done a good job with the panning as well, I hope that was intentional. Your tracks sound really good actually, the drums could some extra kick though. Try adding a Sine-Punch every 1/4 beat between the A0 and F1 range to go with your main kicks. That will give it that clubby punch. One thing I'd like you to work on is your song structure. The song is really good, but it doesn't feel like it's going anywhere. It feels like the whole track is one repeating chorus. I'd like to see what you can do with risers, breakdowns, hooks etc! I'm curious to see what else you can do, so I'll sub to your channel. Hit me up if you ever want to talk about music, or whatever!
  18. Well there's always my soundcloud. https://soundcloud.com/mcfragger My youtube is on my channel as well if you want to check that out. Muffins Bananas watermelon (100 characters can be a lot)
  19. Stay in touch, I'm always willing to help! Good luck with your ventures! Let me know when you start making music or have a track made and I'll check it out!
  20. Ok, if you're unfamiliar with torrents then I would recommend staying away from them. From what I've learned, proper dubstep can be extremely difficult and time consuming to make, which is one fo the reasons I don't personally make it myself. What people don't know is that "Wubs" are extreme automations of synth parameters, or LFO parameters. You really won't be able to make those outside of a decent program, like FL or Ableton or Pro-Tools, etc. If you look on the Image-line website, you can find an FL studio demo that is technically fully functional. Maybe try that out first and see if it works for you? http://www.image-line.com/documents/flstudio.html I totally applaud your efforts though, and I'll try to help you find a program that works. There is another program called Mixcraft that you would be able to obtain, it's basically an extremely simple version of FL studio.
  21. It wouldn't work well for me, because I have a 6-inch colored Pony decal on each side of my car, so even if I could hide the toys well, my car pretty much gives me away...
  22. Hmmmm. A budget program. I'd recommend getting some torrent software, and getting a copy of FL studio. FL studio is great for beginners, because of it's highly-graphical user interface. It's one of the easiest to learn if you don't know anything already. Personally I prefer Ableton, because it's very clean, it has a non-descript UI, and the Live Performance aspect is 2nd to none. However, Ableton runs best when you have an External MIDI keyboard, and an APC40 or Launchpad controller. FOr these reasons I would suggest pirating FL studio. What kind of music are you looking to create? I'm trying to expand myself to many different genres, maybe I can help once you get started. If you can, go to a local music store and find a cheap MIDI keyboard. Having a MIDI keyboard will COMPLETELY transform your user-experience, trust me on that.
