Does it bother anyone else that breakfast isn't spelled breakfeast? Like, it's a feast. It would make sense to be spelled that way. Also, it should be the name of lunch, because lunch is a break for a feast, like during work. Breakfast isn't a break, it's the first thing you do. ._.

Not necessarily. When the term 'breakfast' was invented, it was common in some parts of Europe to have eight or nine different meals over a 24 hour period, each meal landing near one of the monastic prayer times (Matins, Vespers, etc.) So technically 'breakfast' only happens if you skipped several meals in a row because you were too busy praying to eat.
