  1. No, aimed at a general audience would be more something like The Muppet Show, which basically put equal focus on kids and adults and just tried to be entertaining without worrying about who the demographic is. MLP is still a kids show that has some appeal to people outside of the target age group. That's not true at all. If you listen to the behind the scenes, they say that one of the main things they fought for in the show was not to make it dumbed down for kids. "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, a show about colorful ponies that learn lessons of friendship is the same thing as Batman: The Animated Series, a show that dealt with topics like murder, terrorist attacks, and insanity."
  2. Pinkie Pie: "I'm worst pony." Fluttershy: "I'm best pony."
  3. But it's not something intended for adults to seek out, obviously. They're not giving equal thought to adults as they are to kids, they think of kids first and foremost. More specifically, they think of Preschoolers and younger Elementary Schoolers.
  4. Is Arthur aimed at a general audience or is it a kids show? Again, a South Park reference and a Beavis & Butthead were in that show. I know that some adults watch Arthur and that's perfectly fine, I watch a lot of kids shows too, but I call them what they are. In your opinion. I disagree, personally.
  5. The show would have been the same as G3.5 if not for her. Yes, she's the reason it was good. Sorry, but how do references make a show good at all? If simply making references made shows good, Family Guy would be the greatest show of all time. When they do stuff like having the Bat-signal or whatever else, it's cute, but in what way does it make the show as a whole good? Lots of kids shows put that type of thing in for the parents who are watching to make it more bearable for them, but it isn't something that's so entertaining you'd seek the show out just for them. Arthur had freaking South Park and Beavis & Butthead references, but I don't see anyone saying that those alone make the whole show enjoyable for people of all ages. In fact, Arthur is a great example, I'd put it on the exact same level as MLP, myself.
  6. And that's why the first season was watchable. I don't think it was great, but it was watchable. It was still made to sell toys, but they made some effort to make it bearable for adults. Now that she's gone, the show is just like every other show for toddlers, in my opinion. TTG gets great ratings too. Just because CN (or Warner, whoever's decision it was) made a stupid decision has nothing to do with TTG itself. It's ridiculous to hold that over the show.
  7. I think the majority of the thought they put into it was about selling toys, not making a good show. I disagree, I've seen a lot of TTG episodes and I think it's super witty and hilarious with a lot of thought put into the great jokes, especially in Season 2. And it didn't have anything to do with the cancellation of Green Lantern, Green Lantern failed because people weren't watching it. The jokes in MLP are so cringworthy and they actually rely on freaking memes now! They had Twilight say "Brace yourselves, Winter is coming" in a recent episode. That's just despite. What's next, the Harlem Shake?
  8. Okay, thanks for clarifying. I think I know what you mean now, what I've seen of Breadwinners is awful and has no wit to it, but I've also seen a lot of good shows that could be called "weird" that have a lot of wit and great humor, but I guess you didn't mean shows like that. I didn't think Uncle Grandpa was like that, though. Maybe the show is worse than the pilot was, I dunno. I hardly watch any new shows at all, so I'm not that up to date and am just going by what little I've seen.
  9. To be fair, I've only seen the pilot, but I did love it. Maybe it's not as good in the actual series? I'm not sure. I'd agree that Breadwinners is cringeworthy, but certainly not what I saw of Uncle Grandpa. Anyway, all I'm responding to is you saying that "weird" and "random" is rude and juvenile, which to me basically means we shouldn't let kids have fun and should instead litter their cartoons with good values and morals. (Although, I don't disagree that "random" can be obnoxious when people think it's the only thing that makes something funny. I'd point to iCarly as an example of that. Not sure how loosely you're using that word.) I'm not defending Breadwinners at all and I'm only defending the pilot of Uncle Grandpa, but I disagree with the specific things you're complaining about in them.
  10. Because MLP is so boring and unfunny. Uncle Grandpa is hilarious, well animated, and well written. (At least the pilot was, I haven't kept up with it since then.) Sorry, but your argument that "weird and random = bad" basically says "I hate cartoons and entertainment in general, kids need to learn to not have fun" to me.
  11. In what way is "mature" or "serious" something that anyone wants in a kids cartoon? Not that MLP is either of those things any way. "Juvenile rudeness"? Are you like 60? Also, Uncle Granpa is awesome and hilarious.
  12. The apostrophe button on my keyboard isnt working.

  13. I've never seen an anime that I like in my entire life. I thought Teen Titans was anime when I was a kid, but it's actually only an anime-inspired American show. So there are no animes that I like at all.
  14. Is there more Apple hate than Android hate? I think both sides are filled with people who take their phones way too seriously and start arguments over it. With that said, I own an iPhone and have no interest in switching to Android.
  15. Would you ever eat pony meat in real life? Would you ever eat a pony if they were like the ones from MLP? Which ponies would you eat? I would probably eat a Fluttershy or Applejack burger, personally. What about you?
  16. "7, 8, 10" I really, really hate you, Microsoft. -_-
  17. To me what you're saying now is on par with the people who say stuff like "We should ban homosexuality, because what if two queers are making out and my kids see it?". If you see a racist with a confederate flag, it's not going to teach your kids that racism is correct, if anything it'll give you an opportunity to explain something to your kids. Do you want to teach kids that racists don't exist? Because that's 100% untrue and doesn't prepare them for the real world.
  18. Light blue and pink. That's why Pinkie Pie's butt looks so good. Light blue and pink. That's why Pinkie Pie's butt looks so good.
  19. I agree. That's another reason I don't like PC gaming, though, because I don't want game data taking up space of more important stuff, personally. I think a good PC is a good investment that I'm going to try and get in the future, but it will be for animating and stuff.
  20. That's not true, because there are some games I like on the PC. Most of them are adventure games and are actually better to play on PC than on the console ports that exist for some of them. So I prefer PC games there. I honestly don't like games that much in general, though. I just like quick fun games to pass the time, basically. Most PC games are like 50 hours long or longer, which I hate. I prefer Mario, because it's short. But that's just my opinion, though. I agree that it's gone on too long, but I'm still replying to make it clear that I disagree that saying it's worse is the same as hating it. Some games are better on PC, but most are worse, in my opinion.
  21. I didn't say I hate it, just that it's far inferior to console gaming.
  22. Meh, seems like why I dislike it falls into "different things" to me, personally. I wasn't trying to insult anyone. 720p looks just fine in my opinion, though. I think having great picture is more important (although still not the most important thing ever) for movies, because that's more of something where you wanna sit back and enjoy what you're looking at. Games are interactive so you don't sit there admiring the scenery. I don't play online ever, so I never pay monthly fees, personally. I disagree. Every game that I play that I actually look at the frame rate of is 60fps. I've never seen one with only 30. It'd be way more expensive to set up a PC to your TV screen. PS4s are a better value. (Also, of course it's subjective. Everything I've said has been. Not relevant.) I have a higher standard, it's that playing games on your TV is awesome and way better than playing at a computer desk.
  23. I didn't insult anyone. Reread my first post, I just said some people are like I described, not all. But isn't it also a discussion thread? Giving different opinions should be fine, in my opinion. I don't care if it's 720p or 480p or any of that. Games aren't about that type of thing, it doesn't make a difference at all to me, personally. As for 30fps? Every game I've ever played in my life has been in 60fps, I think. Even on the NES the games run at 60fps and I play that all the time.
  24. It isn't that important. The most important thing is a game being fun, who cares how high quality the graphics are? And consoles support 60fps and all that, it's just some crappy games that don't. And the most important thing is that it's much more worth it. I'm not wasting thousands of dollars and months of my time building some PC just so I can have 3 extra pixels and one more frame. But PC games suck, because you can't sit back at a couch by a TV screen. So consoles will always be better, because playing on a TV will always be better, in my opinion. Plus, PS4 has exclusive games. Well, it's the title of the thread, so I think I'm justified in responding to how annoying of a term it is. A Rarity Fan Club is different, because as the title says, it's a club for fans. This isn't called PC Games Club. I think a general PC discussion is fine to express my opinions in. I wouldn't care about that, actually. I'm not a Sony fanboy or anything. If you have legitimate arguments for why the PS4 sucks, I might even agree with you. It doesn't have backwards capability, which I think sucks and it's completely fine to mention that in a PS4 thread.
  25. Really? The least informed thing you've heard in your life pertained to video games? I've seen people who think the Earth is flat and don't believe in the moon. I disagree. I don't think games are worth putting time and effort into setting up. It's not worth it at all. I disagree, I think the term "PC master race" itself is pretty obnoxious. I get it's a joke, but it's a joke that exaggerates believed superiority and the overuse of it is annoying. I didn't shit-talk anyone. I just described how a lot of them act and said I don't think it's worth it. Because games aren't worth too much time and money, in my opinion. I don't even like most games that much at all. I'm just expressing my opinion, not insulting anyone.
