I guess I've just been very unlucky. We took in a cat that turned out to have a bunch of health problems, he died within a week. Now, we took in a dog and he has distemper. You know, when I see some poor creature that looks healthy enough without a home, I just want to help them out. Then, the vets always give the bad news. Every time, it's sad...

I know how you feel, and I'm terribly sorry. We bond as strongly with them as we do people.

Scoots, I can just say that I've been there and know what it feels like...except it hit me unexpected... I'm very sorry for what you're going through right now. I was always skeptical of getting a pet for fear of what would happen when the time comes.
