  1. I think I have an Idea for how the writers can take Fluttershy and Discord's interaction further. I mentioned this before in some of my other posts, but I think it would be a cool idea if Discord would pop in when Flutter's needs help and temporarily Discord her, releasing her repressed alter ego when she needs to. I always thought that stuff like the Gala outburst and how "The Stare" works might suggest Fluttershy has some form of Dissociative Identity Disorder, but that's just crazy headcanon stuff.
  2. Ah, the whole "Its for kids/girls" cop out. Hey Arnold! had attempted suicide, addition, and dysfunctional families and that was a kids show. Arthur has Dyslexia, Cancer, and death and that was a kids show. Its for kids is not an excuse.
  3. I too believe Equestria is a Post-apocolyptic Earth. But not from a nuclear waste or anything. I have a crazy headcanon about Celestia and Luna being top secret military projects 10,000 years ago. Genetically altered to be "The Perfect Equines"
  4. Would you mind seeing a non-smartphone game based off Friendship is Magic with effort, polish, and adult appeal just like the show? The whimsical nature of the cartoon makes it perfect for a Klonoa style 2D Platformer, or a Paper Mario-esque RPG. The only question, who is competent enough to give FiM in game form proper justice? Likely canidates include WayFoward, and any of the major Japanese developers (Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, Square Enix, Bamco, Konami). WayFoward has expressed interest in making a FiM game before, and considering their track record with licensed games, I think they can do something decent. Then there's the big 6 J-devs. Nintendo is the most likely as a game about cute candy colored ponies would be right up their ally. They could even get Intelligent Systems to develop it. The least likely would be Square, as they have almost no experience with working on western properties or 2D Platformers. As for who I want to develop it, Sega. I know a company who was once about "cool kids" making a game based of a children's cartoon, which is based off a little girls toy line is silly. But I feel their style would be the best fit for FiM than any of the other canadates. Likewise, Hasbro is likely going to select an American publisher like Activision to adapt FiM into a game. But WayFoward and the Japanese developers are far more competent to work on licensed material. And besides, little girls deserve something other than some cheap cash-in shovelware title.
  5. Call me crazy, but I'm going with the Post-apocolyptic Earth theory as well. There seem to be very subtle hints in some episodes. Such as in Hearts and Hooves day where there's an underground shot of a bone and a car tire. Also, in the Season 4 premiere, Spike spots the mane 6 heading to the Tree of Harmony where in the background, seems to be ruins of human civilization.
  6. What type of theme song would you give each of the mane 6? For Twilight, I imagine a sort of violin theme would work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yAd2GlXLX4 For Rarity, This would definitely suit her Applejack would have a country song obviously Pinkie would be either J-pop or pop music in general Everything about Rainbow Dash screams hip hop or funk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3anK6yGG-E And lastly Fluttershy, I actually have 2 theme songs for he due to the sweet and sour duality of her personality. Her normal timid side would be something like this But when she goes into psycho mode, this would play What do you think?
  7. So the writers probably have a backstory for Fluttershy in mind, but are waiting for the right moment to reveal it?
  8. I understand they need to keep the primary target demographic in mind. But I don't want sexual abuse in MLP either. I would like them to at least explain the fate of Applejack's parents. 8 year old Suzz won't be offended if the writers are careful.
  9. Do you think Hasbro will sell at least the first 3 seasons of FiM in syndication someday? I think season 1 can work on something like qubo (for those unaware, its a digital kids network that plays mostly educational shows for 3-10 year olds) as its the most kid safe of the bunch. Or they can just have the first 65 episodes air on local stations.
  10. Then by Dr. Wolf's logic, Hasbro has to be the biggest hypocrites on the planet. They don't want tackle themes like death, yet they have the Autobots running around killing Decepticons in Transformers Prime. I'm not asking for MLP to become Transformers, but if a 22 minute adaptation of a boys toy can tackle death, there is no excuse as to why girls are not allowed to be exposed to death as well.
  11. This is what I mean. I don't want a "Call of Pony: Equestria Warfare" but I would like themes like death to be explored more.
  12. Whenever someone has a somewhat dark or slightly mature idea for an MLP episode, its always shot down with "that won't happen because it's for little girls" or "its a kids show, it won't be real". To which I reply, why use target audience as an excuse. Yes, FiM is a kids show, so I understand there are certain boundaries put in place. But that shouldn't limit the show from tackling more complex or mature issuess (in which it has done before). Plus, you'd be supprised at what you can do in children's programing. Look at Adventure Time, Hey Arnold, Courage the Cowardly Dog, SpongeBob, and Rocko's Modern Life. All of which managed to get some mature stuff past the censors. I'm not asking for FiM to become some dark, gritty war show with guns and violence. But I would like it to embrace some mature topics a bit more.
  13. My headcanon for Fluttershy's family is a dysfunctional family of cloudsdale circus preformers. Ringtail: The ringleader and Fluttershy's biological father. Ringtail is a brash, ruthless ringleader that demanded the best out of his family, including Fluttershy. Gem Stone: Fluttershy's mother after her biological mom, Sweet Wing passed away. Gem Stone is a cider-holic (which would get alcoholism past the censors) and neglects to take care of her kids, leaving Ringtail to do all the work. Wind Storm: A rambunctious male pegasus who comes from Ringtail's side of the family. He's destructive, rude, loud, and a pain in the flank. Ruby Stone: Fluttershy's sister-in-law from Gem Stone's side of the family. She's the spoiled one of the family, often getting whatever she wants, whenever she wants. Bling and Blang: also coming from Gem Stone's side, are two mischievous twins who always pick on Fluttershy. They're the youngest in the family. Sky Wing: Also known as Fluttershy's "cool" sister is the eldest of Ringtail and Gem Stone's kids (coming from Ringtail's side) and the only sane member of the family next to Fluttershy herself. She always wanted to be a mechanic, so much so that she has a wrench for a cutie mark, but her dad wasn't having it. Her family issues cause her to leave the house often, or vent on her guitar. Because of her constant absence, she and Fluttershy never really bonded.
  14. Like I said, Fluttershy is repressing a lot of negative opinions and emotions. Putting Your Hoof Down and other "Flutterrage" moments only gave us a taste of who she could really be. If you played Fire Emblem: Awakening, you would know there's a Character named Noire. I won't spoil too much, but lets say her truamatic past caused her to repress a lot of negative emotions and feelings, causing her to become almost as timid and shy as Flutters, but these negative feelings do surface when pushed too far, and she instantly goes from a scardey cat, to a bloodthirsty psychopath. Noire dubs this dark side of hers her "inner demon". Fluttershy seems to be a lot like Noire, heck I wouldn't be suprised if she spouts her catchphrase "BLOOD AND THUNDER!!!"
  15. Well, here's my own headcannon. I seem to get the feeling that Fluttershy used to work for a villain when she was younger. Like, her possibily misserable fillyhood caused by a dysfunctional family may have driven her to a life of evil when she got a little older. Lets say, a Cloudsdale rescue squad comes and returns Fluttershy to Cloudsdale, Fluttershy, whose family in my head cannon are a bunch of cloudsdale circus preformers, wanted to stay as far away from her family as she could, as the animals were the closest she ever had to one. Having that brief moment of happiness taken away from her could've really hurt her emotionaly. Eventually, her family gets a job offer from Fillydelphia, and thus she and her family move there. Knowing she'll probably never see animals again, Fluttershy begins to doubt the importance of her cutie mark, the destiny she would prepare her entire life for. Untill a strange shadowy figure tells her that she doesn't have to listen to what some 2-sided flank tattoo tells her, and that she can do whatever she wants. Fluttershy makes a contract with this shadowy being as it gives her supernatural powers (which would explain Fluttershy's Stare) and teaches her combat. Fluttershy then joins 4 other teenage ponies who doubt the importance of their cutie marks. As they rebel against their special talents and Fluttershy becomes the leader of a gang of rebellious punks known as the Mare 5. As Fluttershy spends more time with her shadowy master, and the Mare 5, she becomes increasingly defiant, and cynical, slowly losing her soft spoken voice and ignoring her cutie mark. As the Mare 5 quickly falls appart, Fluttershy becomes even more corrupted by her powers, seeming almost possessed. Her and her master then take it to Canterlot where they would kill Celestia, steal the Elements of Harmony, wipe out all life of the entire world, and rebuild it in their own image. Fluttershy's master quickly betrays her and tosses her to the Everfree forest. Celestia reveals to be alive and takes back the EoH. Enraged, Fluttershy snaps at the animals, including a rabbit who would later be known as Angel, as they hide in fear. Suddenly, Fluttershy realized where she went wrong, and remembered what it was like to have happiness, and to keep that happiness, she needed to change, so she moved to Ponyville where she could be comfortable with the animals, and makes a vow to not use her powers and avoid as much social contract as possible to keep others safe. But the personality of the pony she used to be never left her psyche. This would explain why Fluttershy called Pinkie and Rarity's life goals "pointless persuits" in Putting your Hoof Down. Come to think of it, it would also explain why she was the only one willing to reform Discord, because she was once a villain herself. I also feel that Iron Will was hired by Fluttershy's old shadowy master to subtly re-awaken the heartless monster inside of her. But Fluttershy realized she was reverting to her old ways, and stood up to Iron Will, unaware of what was going on behind the scenes. If they can do something like this, then it could add some incredible depth to Fluttershy's character.
  16. Fluttershy seems to have the least amount of background of the mane 6. We don't know her family, we don't know her pastlife outside flight school, and her quirks like The Stare are almost never explained. Plus, In episodes like Griffon the Brush Off, Crystal Empire Part 2, and Testing Testing 1, 2, 3, Fluttershy seems to repress alot of negative opinions. I'm willing to bet the writers are foreshadowing something about her. I actually think this is what makes Fluttershy a good character, her shy nature and mysterious past allow for a lot of headcannons and speculation.
  17. I would actually like to see an overarching villain next season. It would add a sense of urgency to the show. Keep in mind, this doesn't mean you have to give up slice of life episodes though.
  18. I would say Fluttershy. Not only was she pushed around and bullied by other pegasai growing up, I'd argue she's the most mysterious of the Mane 6. Her shy nature allows for many speculations and mysteries to her character like The Stare's origins, or her family.
  19. I guess she doesn't have the best reputation amoung the bear community.
  20. As we know, most of the Mane 6 has a sidekick of sorts. Twilight has Spike, Rarity has Sweetie Belle, Applejack has Applebloom, and Rainbow has Scootaloo. So with Discord's reformation, I assume he's going to be Fluttershy's sidekick now. I could definitely see him as a sort of Father figure to Fluttershy. Plus, If Fluttershy needs to fight, I can see Discord temporarily discording her to help. The only one of the mane 6 without a sidekick now so far is Pinkie.
  21. I actually would like to see Discord and Fluttershy interact more. Maybe Discord can provide temporary discording of Fluttershy when she needs to fight or something.
  22. I would also like to think Discord acts as a sort of psychiatrist for Fluttershy, telling him her frustrations, criticisms, and her fillyhood.
