Why I'm here? because I like it, the reason why I stay is because I haven't felt any pressure to leave, for all my life I've been different, so when this didn't fit society's norms I didn't think anything of it.

perhaps, though a single nod to it would hardly establish it. The only other thing I can think of that would be considered similar would be how celestia and luna are almost thought of as gods, but aside from that I haven't seen much on how the world was made.

I was actually surprised to see that mine suddenly had over 40 replies and found that it had been merged with yours XD I'm not entirely sure what to make of your system of finding the years as I've been focusing more on the order of events in the lore but it seems cool none the less. I always assumed that they received their cutiemarks soon after the events of heaths warming eve, I thought that it made sense that celestia would run forward and help the unicorns raise the sun and in the process receiving her cutiemark as she found she could do it on her own, however I haven't read the comics yet so I may be missing some key information.

That is basicly my head cannon in a nutshell, I'm glad it really supports the show.

While I do Understand your view point and am glad that you provided your backing for the feeling I do also believe that there are some cases where the moral needs to be considered, however I do stress that this should be in moderation, no where near to the extent you have provided us with, but it is necessary to understand that what makes people happy may not always be good for them just as much as thing that make you unhappy are not always for your benefit and do not always "build character". A good example of the former would be a bad grade given by a teacher, they are assessing your work so you can improve and while it may not make you happy to see it, it will likely help you to improve in the future as it helps to show you where you have gone wrong. So naming it as a "bad moral" may not be the best way to go when it is better to consider it as a moral of moderation such as in green isn't your color as too much honesty can hurt mor than it helps and the super speedy cider squeezy 6000 where even though it is good to know that your friends and families are there to help there are times when you need to know how to handle things on your own as well.

I agree, though I'm rather curious why this makes him hated but rainbow dash loved, what's the differences between the two ways? maybe they could use it to improve spike. Mare Do Well - true, it does seem to be a key part of her character as it likely drives quite a few of her actions Mmmystery - I feel like there may be a bit more with at least the novelty of clue-esk style as well as the detective bit. Simple Ways - True, Spike was rather good in that episode and AJ was great to see dressed up like rarity Boast Busters - Trixie does have some nice quirks though I don't feel as though that's the best episode to attribute to her as her defining episode, while it did help to introduce her in a memorable way I think Magic Duel did a bit of a better job on her character, though I suppose without twilight running her out of ponyville the events never would have happened. Though to be completely honest I think EQG and Rainbow Rocks did a better job of making her seem more human.

I'm rather curious, what do you think their merits are? I understand Hearth's Warming Eve's as it contributes to and helps shape the lore of mlp, in fact I've sited it in my timeline, but as for the other 4 I'm curious what they offer beyond small amounts of character development.

I think that's just one of spikes traits, kind of like how it is with rainbow dash. Especially how this can be seen in other episodes such as in Secret of My Excess where we see how it's in his nature to be greedy, or in Just for sidekicks where we can see that he isn't truly thinking about the other pets as he is just thinking about his stomach. Besides, he's a baby dragon, children are often self centered because they haven't yet learned to think any differently.

I don't think there are any in my eyes that don't have any upsides to them, such as castle-a-mania where even through I didn't like the repetitive writing and other incongruities I still enjoyed getting a glimpse into the ancient castle. Griffon the Brush off on the other hand did have it's moments where Gilda did nothing but antagonize the characters as well as enrage a fair number of viewers I still feel as though the episode provided great in sight to how pinkie pie deals with someone like that as well as they types of people that surrounded rainbow dash before she moved to ponyville and how that may have helped her become who she is now. Even equestrian games had it's upsides despite spike's horrid anthem. (I'd have to say that this episode annoyed me greatly at that point and had I not been able to skip over it, it would have made my least favorite list and even now may still be on there if I actually went through and ranked the episodes.) such as how we can begin to see more character definition with him and sympathize with his stage fright as well as how he overcomes it.

well that backed up my head cannon so before nightmare moon luna still had a few scuffles with celestia?

lol I'm finding that with my own head cannon as I ended up working a OC into it still completely fits within the show and timeline, through probably over thought out XD I should really write it down sometime.
