  1. Well I'm thinking or having a classic evening with my oldest friend come here on Sunday, but as for the actual day? Probably nothing X3 like I've mentioned else, the kids party was today, and that was pretty fun in its own right :)

Do you enjoy the changes the season makes around this time? I'm speaking myself about the northern, but southern hemisphere pones must be enjoying spring in full swing ^w^

  2. I'm gonna say bagel bites on this one folks, just by the sheer fact that for me at least, I can't ever do an accurate enough job to keep myself from eating  hot lava rolls xD but I can usually judge bagel bites temperature well enough that I'll actually be able to enjoy my dinner, plus tomorrow's breakfast and lunch :derp:

Although on flavor, I like pizza rolls better

  3. I've always thought that that line of thinking about alicorns always boils down to the grade school argument that always starts when two kids are playing superheroes "no! My character is impervious to your characters strength! Therefore I win!"

True there is some merit to that If you're looking at the conversation in a vacuum, but c'mon man, it's whoever and whatevers making the characters deisre for that character! It's your head canon for your head character! Buck those have hate! :D

everyone can have their opinions, and I truly did try to give discovery a fair chance, plus I wanted an informed opinion before I made any judgments

honestly, about twenty minutes in i was to the point where I was saying "this isn't for me, but they can't take away fifty years of back catalog", but after the last part of the second and all of the third act, I honestly felt insulted, both for myself, the franchise, and all those who have followed it.

"this is federation space, there is no retreat"?
"thats the diplomat in you, whats the soldier saying' ?

    trying to mutiny??

the worst part about this for me was the framing between the relationship of the captain and main character first officer, it almost seemed as though they made the captain the voice of the old star trek, and the first officer this new ideology

theres very few things that  hit me like this did when it comes to entertainment media, I won't be supporting this show

that being said, if someone likes this show, its not like "OH YOU'RE SUCH A ST.&*#" , you're allowed to think different ways about things, but for me, I found this show insulting

  5. you and I share a similar background and perspective on the franchise- I too believe it to be key to my thought processes and I'm third generation trekkie. Star trek is that thing for me and my immediate family.

Sadly ever since the original teaser last summer, mine as well as the family's hopes have diminished with every new change up in the production team, loosing key members, having the dates pushed back as well as it being exclusively released on their cbs go platform- but honestly the recent news that it had received the TVMA rating made my family go from not having faith or being interested to not even wanting to see this show succeed

Star trek for us is about the greater questions- humans exploring space to find out more about ourselves reflected in the challenges our race would come up against whilst doing so, and that should be an experience anyone can enjoy without the (in my opinion) lazy and inappropriate storytelling tools of over the top violence or more adult themes- sure youl get people attention, but how much thought has to go into those things? I'd argue that those aspects of humanity are easy to manipulate seeing as those are closer to our basic urges than anything else in some aspects.

Ultimately, none of us are tuning in, cause none of us here really think its worth supporting

I remember reading an article ( that I was trying to find to put here, but I can't right now- if I do ill edit a link in) where a head member of CBS's board said he doesn't get star trek and why they're even making a tv show- that star trek should stick to movies

hey, if its good, awesome, but I don't think ill be riding along unless I hear really good things from others opinions, maybe Ill keep a watch on what you think, I appreciate an informed opinion :3
