    I live in a bit of a bubble. No Cable No Sat Just Intertubes and a Roku box. I had actually forgotten about the concept of televised advertising, excepting HuluPlus. But even that is tame and tends to have adverts that seem to be directed at investors more than the ponies who watch them. And, no. I will not click on any of those adverts posted above. I do not need to destroy my appreciation for the show.

    OMP OMP OMP!!!! YES! This means that netflix and Hasbro are really working hard in the backroom offices to keep the show on! Too sad that it boils down to money . But, YESH! I have been marathon watching on netflix lamenting that it will be going offline soon. This news just made my day 20% cooler! Let's hope that they will get a deal cemented that will allow mlp to be on for years to come. Edit: it isn't showing an expiry date on my Roku box, but maybe they only show those on the Roku app if it is under as certain number of days (2 weeks seems to be what gets shown).

    Back before I ended up with the crap job I have now, my computers were the envy of the western spiral of the galaxy! Now... The only working "laptop" I have left is this horrid little netbook (Dell N270 atom based thing). Not even fast enough to play video if they are in a flash or silverlight wrapper. I do have a file server running vista. I have been able to keep that system clean as it is headless and the only access I have to it directly is via teamviewer. On top of that, I have my first gen ipad that seems to still be kicking, although safari crashes all the time due to the system not having enough ram for many pages. The names of these systems is as follows. Ipad: Ipad (creative, huh? ) Fileserver: Fileserver (derpy) Netbook: Damn it! (yes I do call it that!)

    @SpaceOnion: SpaceOnion... SpaceOnion... SPACEIONION!..... (Dangerzone) (Yes, I am also a major Archer fan!) Having said that, I do agree with many of your points, but still there is the issue of how the culture at large treats people. (this next statement also goes to steel accord). Society is defined by the mores and views of the people within it. You cannot have a society without people, nor can anypony have a people without a society. When somepony makes a judgement call about society, they are basically refering to the general view of the people that manifest the society as a whole. Anyways, just my 2 bits.

    YAY! I got my cutie mark! Took me a handful of hours (whats a hand???) but I prefer to post in a thoughtful manner, as such my posts going forward will likely range in the 3-4 a day rate. And again, I am genuinely greatful for everypony who has thusfar conversed with me. Seriously, even if I wasn't a "brony"* I would love this forum just for the ponies who are here. You are all awesome-sauce plus 20%!!! *(yeah I know, the term doesn't mean Bro + Pony, still feels odd, and I dislike pegasister as a term... Help me create a new term for female bronies, anyone?) Big hugs to all ponies!

    Same here, except that both her and I have been able to develop social skills over time. I sincerely hope you have/will join society in a major way, and maybe even be a motivating voice to help others. (Ya know, just like Twilight )

    AWWWW! A genuine Fluttershy-style reply! (Don't let anyone know this, but I have a soft spot for her ) Also, thanx for the offer to answer a few questions as I have a few. Here is the checklist: 1. How many posts do I have to have before I am no longer a Blank Flank (grrr such a horrible slur that is!) 2. Do I have to wait for my cutie mark before I can add a signature? Or am I just missing where the option is in the preferences? 3. Is it OK to hug Fluttershy when she is feeling down and/or scared? Please finish this checklist promptly and have Spike consume/send it right away, as I wish not to be TARDY!

    Wow I can SO relate to this discussion! Full disclosure: I am a post-op transwoman. Luckily for me (although most thought me unlucky at the time) I always looked really girly. This made my transition much easier, as I pass well. Anyways, when I came out as trans WOW did the flood gates OPEN! I got comments ranging from asinine to completely threatening. All of this because people thought that I wanted to be a "girly man" instead of see that I was always Katie, but was not allowed to show it. Oh.. And all of the people asking why I would want to "become" a girl if I am attracted to girls. Also, all the suggestions and not so subtle hints about why I shouldn't "go though with it"... Sorry, I digress. I just wanted to put that out there to give my personal example of how this style of culture is so harmful. A really sad thing about western "hetero-normative" values is that they have been widely exported in the last few centuries. Many places on earth used to have a much more fluid view of gender/sexuality until the "great and powerful West" showed up. (India comes to mind).

    Totally! Unicorn all the way, if it was possible to pick which race, but even if I ended up as just a gool ol' earth pony, I would have no complaint. Living a simple but engaging life is IMHO far superior to the trappings that we have in this "modern world". Thats what I thought before I actually went vegan. (hint its perdy easy ). That being said, you would have pony taste buds and sense of smell, so your perceptions would be different. I wonder how oats smell to ponies? (off topic, I thought the reaction twi got when asking for extra oats in her smoothie in one of the movies was odd. I add oats to my smoothie, because it makes them 20% cooler! as well as cuts the sugary sweet of the berries a bit...)

    Thanx everypony! This place seems second only to the real* Equestria! *So wish it was a real place, how cool would that be!? I know I would be the captain of the "free hugs for Fluttershy" team for when she got down or scared! Le sigh tho, only in our collective imaginations.

    Although not a movie: Any episode of StarTrek that has Q in it ("replaced" with discord, of course). Twi ordering "tea earl grey, hot!" from the replicator would send me on my side, too. Also, for an EQ version, Star Trek 4 (I think? The one where they went back to 20th century earth to kidnap a whale to save future earth). On second thought... Ugh, that would be a fish-out-of-water inside a fish-out-of-water story... nm

    Twilight for me, as her personality often matches me in so many ways (see my introduction thread ). As one can easily see, my favorite secondary pony is Trixie. There is something intrinsically mysterious and attractive about her, as long as you can see through the thinly veiled attempt at feeling wanted and loved. I hope in the next season they develop her further, I could see her changing her tune and becoming a good friend to the Mane6, similar to how Sunset Shimmer turned around in the movies.

Too bad netflix is dropping the series :'( How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: A few years ago a friend told me about the show so to be ironic I started watching it. But just like in the Brony documentary, it soon stopped being ironic Well, I live in the great state of Mane... erm I mean Maine... heehee. I'm a liberal-lesbian-vegan-atheist (try saying that one three times fast!). When I am not working, sleeping or watching mlp and if it isnt winter outside I am usually hiking in the local national park that luckily is within walking distance. I guess you could say that I hike to my hike? When it comes to "which pony am I most like", although I have a Trixie'd-out (tricked out?) forum account, I would have to say that I am really very much like Twilight when it comes to personality. I was the egg head at school back in the day. Total nerd. used to write C64 spells (erm programs) to visually show a book report when we were allowed to use art to express the meaning of a book. Before I even saw the show, I had a habit to actually having checklists FOR checklists! I even have some of them around neatly organized in my open office directory which I moved inside my cloud directory so I would have automatic backups and access from anywhere.... But I digress. Anyways, don't know why I waited so long to join, but I am glad I did! So a big shoutout to all the Bronies; The Great And Powerful Katy* has arrived!!! *My name is actually spelled Katie, but it wouldn't have fit in the 20 character name limit... *Le sigh*
