Yes, they're called Sample Stars of Experience™.
The reason why they are there is to test if the leveling system is setup correctly.
Why I want to collect them? To git gud of course!Seriously though, it won't be like in the gif above. There won't be randomly placed stars like this.
Instead of instantly getting experience from enemies, they'll be dropping stars, that you'll be able to collect in order to gain experience. I suppose there's no logical reason of why these exist. These are just a part of gameplay mechanics, similar to [ enemies, such as animals dropping gold in RPG's ] nonsense and many others.These stars don't have a specific name, I don't think they need one.
Why I want to collect them? .. well, that actually was true - to git gud of course! I want to encourage players to face enemies; if there wouldn't be any reason, other than them blocking your way, I imagine it could get kind of boring and players would start to just avoid battling, jumping over and rushing forward. I want to make the whole battling somewhat rewarding.
