  1. wooo I didn't know you're into gamedev let me play let me play!! jk It probably wouldn't be top tier gaming experience, but the game actually can be played on mobile, as the game does support touch screens. I also made it support controllers (gamepads). So at the very least it should be playable for lols, if not for epic scores. And by the way, the game is permanently available.
  2. That's the amount of times the topic has graced someone's screen, regardless of whether that someone has actually read anything in it.
  3. I don't really know what to put in my reply, the title pretty much answers your question. jk I mean, it really is what it claims to be, the "views" is how many times the topic has been, well, viewed. That is, entered, loaded. Yes, you visiting your own topic does make the view count go up. Even not logged in users "guests", that randomly happen to enter the topic after online search, also make that count go up. So keep in mind many views may come from not registered users, who just happened to stumble upon the topic from online search. And also keep in mind, that usually there are faaaaar, far more guests online, than registered users. Basically it doesn't matter who, it just shows the number of times the topic has been loaded.

  5. Hello and welcome to the herd! Relatable This show also made me realize quite a few things, like suddenly yearning for my childhood, the time at school with friends and the like, because at the time I bumped into MLP I didn't have any of that anymore. Interestingly, I didn't really feel like I'm missing something prior to bumping into this show, or at least I simply didn't ponder such matters. I hope you'll have a good time here!
  6. Yeah, that would be the case by default, but right in the very first version I added an offset, that is greater than the entire hit range. Basically, there's a delay before score begins to raise for holding the slider, and the score stops being added when approaching the end. So the earlier you begin a slider, the longer the initial delay, and likewise, the later you begin, the shorter the delay, as it's calculated from the note's timestamp. In exact numbers, it's currently like this: It's just a rough sketch I made, the exact visual ranges are different, and will vary depending on the "Speed" setting. To get "perfect", one has to hit the note within 0.1s before or after its timestamp (the center of the note), and 0.2s for "good". Now sliders, They start continuously giving score after 0.4s from the center, which is far beyond even the "good" range (at that point it's a solid miss, so it doesn't matter) They also stop giving score 0.4s before the ending note They give 5 points every 0.05s while criteria are met Therefore, sliders have to be longer than 0.8s to give any score for holding them So both, "perfects" and "goods" should theoretically give the same exact amount of score for holding the sliders, of course minus the fact "goods" give 50 for initial hit / ending release, instead of 100. Of course the timing is based on real time, regardless of framerate, but I most likely made an oversight, that allows one last tick to be occasionally skipped when enough time has passed between frames. Let's say the last tick barely fits before the ending offset, like there's just some 0.001s before reaching the 0.4s offset, if enough time has passed between frames, entering the offset will cancel the tick, that could have happened. The framerate I have is 165 (that's the refresh rate of my monitors, so it's capped at that), so me having higher score makes my assumptions plausible. Apparently I made a P2W game
  7. I managed to find a workaround to ignore the warning and get on PC, not really a solution, but has to do for the time being. So let's get back to cooking; Nice! I'm not sure if you're aware, but all of these are better scores than what you got a year ago, so you totally got better, whether you realized it or not! Because obviously I'm better! jk Seriously though, in case anyone is wondering on behind the scenes on that part; I noticed it back in 2023. That is actually not intended to happen. Apparently the sliders aren't giving the same amount of score, despite me programming them in such a way, that pressing/releasing them earlier or later should make no difference, assuming "Perfect" was hit on both ends. The framerate might have something to do with these little miscalculations. I did use delta time, but apparently it needs further measures. I was planning to look into it, but the score doesn't serve any real purpose, so I kept skipping it in favor of more important changes. The little score errors is just a minor derp the game discards the moment you quit the results screen. The score doesn't really reflect if the song was played better or worse, and especially these little differences occurring when having 100% should not happen at all. By design, reaching 100% should give the maximum score no matter what. There are no better 100%'s than others as far as I, and the game see it. Anyway, the Completion Rate is the only valid, accurate score. Anyway, I see you even maxed Easy for truly perfected neatness, I approve! To me easy was too hard apparently Congratulations! Your epic skills have been acknowledged! Oh Silky, this isn't about score, just like the magic of friendship isn't about how many friends you have. There's nothing to worry about, I appreciate you all the same, thank you for playing! SUBMISSIONS FOR BADGES ARE NOW CLOSED AS PROMISED, THE GAME WILL REMAIN AVAILABLE THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR PARTICIPATING AND SUPPORT!
  8. Press [ F ] to pay respects Due to technical difficulties with my PC, I'll be busy trying to solve the problem I face. I'm currently on phone, so for the time being, I won't be giving the badges, but I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Until further notice, I'll leave the submissions for badges open, so feel free to submit your scores even after the timer runs out. Let me only quickly mention, @Ice Princess Silky <3, don't worry about your score dear, it's not that bad! And it certainly isn't a problem in any shape or form. Just remember to also post "Rules of Rarity" for the badge. Just catch whatever you can. Think of the falling notes as spammers that are trying to enter MLPF to post ads. The pesky ones you won't catch will be later banned by other mods, so don't worry, your input will be still valuable!
  9. Sweet Celestia, it's worse than I thought.

As I feared, again, I'm having troubles booting the PC.

I unplugged both HDDs and I still cannot go past the post screen. ...It must be the system drive failing.

That one will be trickier to swap. :raritydespair:

The timing though, it would be acceptable a year ago or something. That drive is quite old, has only ~250GB, so I was planning to replace it someday... Was planning to buy a new PC in general at that point.

But now? When I need it the most? See, that's just my luck, I knew everything will go south the moment I become jobless. It surely waited for that moment for maximum emotional damage bonus.

I'll have to sacrifice some of my savings, because without PC I may as well just give up on life heh.

Time to search for a replacement! The thing I worry about more is the time it may take. I may just do a fresh system installation at this point.

I have some important stuff on that drive though.

At least a little bit of good news.

I looked around the BIOS and discovered, that I can boot the system from there. This allows me to ignore the warning for the time being. I don't know how serious the situation is, but this way I can buy at least a little bit of time until the drive completely fails. From now on I'll have to enter BIOS each time, heh.

I was worried my PC is bricked until I can get the replacement, but at least I can somewhat prepare for migration. I managed to narrow down where exactly the problem is, so while I can't say I'm happy with the discovery, I can backup things more accurately.

I don't really want to invest into upgrades for this old PC, but at least the prices for drives aren't that crazy as they used to be these 10 years ago. :twilightsheepish:

Who knows, maybe it's not as critical as it makes it sound, but of course I'll look around the shops and try to find a good deal for a replacement.

I wish you luck, my friend. Sorry you're still have troubles, but I hope you find a fix that will work without costing too much. :pinkiesad2:
(Resumes the resurrection spell for your PC) Gunter glieben glauchen globen! Gunter glieben glauchen globen!

  10. Now that's nicely cooked! Have you noticed? "Rules of Rarity" have less falling tears than the other song players usually mention. It's lore accurate alright The tears you've collected made me think of something... Hmm yes, I'll save them for the next game.
  11. Hmm I only see "The Magic of Friendship Grows", on both difficulties. It's not too late, there's still about 16 hours left - refer to the timers on home page and the game page.
  12. Hello, hi and welcome to the herd! These are lovely artworks! Not just "pretty alright"! I hope you'll have a good time here!
  13. OOoooo my bad, I apologize! I marked you for the reward on my list when replying to you back then, but somehow actually didn't give one in the end. I'd probably notice that when I'd be wrapping up the event and comparing my list with amount of badges given in the system, but by all means, thank you for pointing this out. Sorry for the inconvenience!
  14. Of course! Not that many actually, only few managed to achieve 100% Now there's no rush, there will be always time for practice, and I'll be looking forward to see you reach your goals!
  15. The trick is that I played these songs A LOT during development. Something I made myself can't surprise me. Yeah kinda 💀, but hey, that is not bad at all! I imagine you tried once and called it a day? If so, it would be a good start, and would get only better from there! Thank you for playing!
  16. Let me join the party, because it would be funny if I didn't play my own game, right? I'm not a hardcore rhythm player, but yup, can confirm it's doable And with that, now it looks neat
  17. Nice! I love sandbox games myself, and I also play both, Minecraft and Terraria from time to time. I agree Terraria by default has more action and is more fun to play in general. Minecraft is only enjoyable when played with friends in my opinion, nothing to do on singleplayer. Anyway, mods do a fantastic work in both games, so it never gets boring there! Can't say about the other ones, as the only Nintendo console I ever owned was the good old NES.
  18. Awesome! Sure, remember to take breaks and stay hydrated!
  19. Heeeeeello hello! Welcome to the herd! I hope you'll have a good time here! What kind of games you're into? 👀
  20. You did well indeed! Glad you had fun! Thank you for playing!
  21. Epic! Nice scores! Thank you for playing! ROCKYYY!!! Why of course these are good scores! Great job! Thank you for playing! Oh glad you got it to work! The difficulty doesn't matter, it can be either easy or normal. The songs do matter though, it has to be "The Magic of Friendship Grows" and "Rules of Rarity" for this season. You're missing the latter. At this point let's make it actual lore, that the falling notes in "the magic of friendship grows" symbolize tears players have to catch.
  22. I may be cooked, I can't boot PC

    IMG_20250610_132941.jpg

I don't even know which drive it refers to :raritydespair:

Why is timing always so cruel, as if I didn't have enough problems already.

At the very least I hope it can tell the difference between HDD and SSD, and that it literally means to say "hard disk drive", not SSD's. :please:

Still, one of the HDD's has pretty much all my project files and all the random stuff from the past 10 years, but good luck backing it up, there's lots of it there. :twilightsheepish:

The PC behaves normally once I passed through the post screen, and I can normally access all files from all drives as if nothing happened. I spent half a day deleting some stuff here and there, to give it some space to breathe, but I know I'm just delaying the inevitable. Now I'm kinda scared of what might happen on next boots, but I hope it will be able to hang in there for at least these few months.

I'm sorry you're having computer problems. I hope you can get it fixed soon. :applecry:

  23. huh? I can make it happen @Ice Princess Silky <3
  24. Aww, thank you for your kind words! I remembered you were one of the rare players looking forward to the game, so I'm happy you're still here, and still being interested. But to increase your sneak skill to 100 and quietly work towards perfects without me seeing the progress and teasing you - tsk, how could you! I have to let you know, that because of what you have done, I'm shocked, traumatized, and flabbergasted.. and and and.. bamboozled! *ahem* Seriously though, congratulations are in order! WOOOOOOOOOOO It's an achievement for you, and a reward for me, as I appreciate all the effort you've put to perfect it all nicely like this! Thank you for playing! Ah, sorry to hear that. What exactly happens, and what operating system and internet browser do you use?
