Hey, I've heard you've encountered problems with the character system - what is it?
-
Yeah saw that coming, just had a minor accident at work, thanks to OHS guys and their lack of imagination. They say and enforce one thing, I'm telling them they're wrong and that the problem is elsewhere, but they're obviously "smarter" and stubborn... I hope the pain won't turn into anything serious. Do I really need to send myself to the hospital to prove OHS is a joke, and that it's not about worker's well being / safety at all? All they care about is to buy excuses to put blame on workers to avoid taking responsibility, even if that means implementing questionable solutions.
Using common sense? Lmao there's no such thing. There's no use talking to these guys...
I don't know what to do, I feel like officially reporting this accident will only bring more problems than solve. I did talk to superior and manager about this, but... they're not sure either, as it's not up to them. That probably won't change anything anyway. What could they do, move me somewhere else? Get rid of me?
I just want to be left alone and do my own thing...
What an eventful week.

@Samurai Equine You're a samurai, right? Go teach them a lesson the hard way. And then I'll ask them why they weren't equipped well enough for it to be safe for them.
JK ;p
None of us can do anything about it I'm afraid. Years of experience is apparently nothing against random dudes who were just taught some fancy, yet bland and often poorly thought out theories from books.

Got it. Bring them to their knees and lob their heads off, just like in the sengoku jidai. On it.
J/K.
Well you do matter, my friend. Your experience does matter. Just know my mother was once in a similar position as you. She was in a toxic work environment where the new faces were too busy playing favorites with the boss rather than doing their jobs. My mother kept that place running smoothly with patients that were happy to be there. Know what happened when my mother finally transferred to a new department? ... It fell apart. No one knew how to do anything, and they had to bring in someone to shape things up there. They wanted to beg and plead for my mother to come back, but they knew that when you transfer departments, there is a system in place that keeps you there for a while. You can't just transfer whenever you want.
I imagine it will be the same for you. On the day you walk away, that place will fall apart and just won't be the same until they clean up their own messes. And wherever you go next will be blessed to have you; just make sure is a place where they welcome you and have genuinely good teamwork.

Oh yes, I can imagine that. Sounds like your mom deserves a raise, but knowing how things work... I do hope it turned out well for your mom though!
Sometimes I wonder what kind of mess it would become after I left. However, I realistically don't matter there anymore, but I'm afraid I can't talk about it, as it touches political aspects, that's been happening over here in Poland for 7 years or so.
All I can say is, that we all here suspect, that they're going to replace us with their "preferred" workforce eventually, and that's what troubles me, especially since another company consumed the one I worked for recently. They're making changes everywhere. We already had to write full instructions on what to do, with all the procedures and the like in both, Polish and Ukrainian, so yeah, it does make one wonder...
Heh, everything is against me there and it's kind of depressing. Welp, "it is what it is" best describes all of this, maybe let's leave it at that.
Either way, thanks @Samurai Equine

Hah, I can already say it isn't better at all. But it's all according to my expectations, so yeah, I guess I was prepared for that.
Either way, no worries, and thanks @Tacodidra

If I could, I'd help you get a new job and secure your future. For now, I'll just keep believing in you and cheering you on. I know you can bounce back from this, my friend.
