      I'm just now wondering. What exactly does duality (well, dualism) have to do with water?

      I've actually been asked this quite a few times by confused or curious people, but duality was the primary motif of my account long before water was - wave-particle duality, to be precise.

      Since it's a quantum phenomenon you can't really depict it in an image directly, so my original avatar used the common analogy of a droplet plunking into water (the rebounding droplets correspond to the particle nature of matter, while the ripples spreading out correspond to the wave nature of matter). Folks started calling me 'the water guy', and it kinda snowballed from there. :P

      TL;DR: everybody subscribed to a literal interpretation of my avatar and vastly augmented my aesthetic
