  1. Oh NO! That will be disastrous! Q.Q (I hope IMBD is wrong for once...)
  2. ^ That would be freaking BADASS! Imagine if the first movie was 3 hours and then the sequel was also 3 hours? Now THAT would be a feast for the senses; and enough leeway to do the novel JUSTICE for once! >.<
  3. xD I will jump to the assumption you mean you are frightened of clowns? As a kid I always hated clowns. I would tell other people I hated em too. And they would always jump to the assumption that I was afraid of them. It boggled my mind that there are such a large subset of people who are actually terrified of clowns. I just hated them due to the overly juvenile nature and shallow "entertainment" they provided. Like, if I was at the circus, I would be saying "Ugh, when are the clowns leaving so the REAL show can begin? I wanna see some damn elephants and people shot out of cannons, not be subject to the comedy hour at some toddler's birthday party -.-" 15 years later and I still think pretty much the same way, lol.
  4. My guess would be in the trailer, they are trying to cater to the more mainstream modern day movie goers with the "generic jump scare/ shifty scenes" thing. I would hope the movie itself will have a bit more to it; and how awesome would it be to have the actual GOOD parts of the movie NOT ruined by the trailer for once -.- Sequel >.>? They had plans for a sequel? You mean an "IT" sequel, as in it's being split into two parts, or do you mean there is another Steven King adaptation coming out soon thereafter? I haven't really been keeping up with things lately lol I doubt anything will be explicit. I can see them trying to keep things as "accurate" as possible, given the time constraints of course. But certain things will likely be presented in a rather vague or fleeting manner (as opposed to being completely absent, like in the mini-series) Speaking of the mini-series, I just decided to go and watch it again online for the first time in many years. My memories were a bit cloudy on it and this rewatching session helped me clear quite a few things up. Firstly, the runtime of the mini-series was only 3 hours. I remember it being significantly longer than that. Therefore, considering that feature films have been known to go on for upwards of 3 hours (see Peter Jackson's King Kong) it alleviates some of my worries regarding the potential lack of shifting 30 years in the future and back again. I will admit the mini-series did feel pretty rushed in some places (particularly towards the middle and ending), so a feature film would likely feel even MORE rushed -.- Secondly, the mini-series had a wonderful way of incorporating many slow buildups to scenes with large payoff; it also had the characters occupying a world that looked bright and cheerful at times (which is in stark contrast to the flitered greyish look this new movie has). My worry is, with the entire movie having this filter plastered over it, will this diminish the impact of some of the really frightening scenes? Bright and vibrant visuals trick your mind into a false sense of security and then they follow up with mindfuckery for a super-effective combo. Thirdly and finally, I hope that this new IT doesn't go out of its way to try and "appeal" to the new generation by throwing in a ton of modern things to "make it more relatable"; that would be disastrous. I could just imagine Eddie pulling out a smartphone or Bev belting out a "Yass!" and me throwing my arms up in defeat whilst walking out of the theatre in shame xD (Let's hope they keep things authentically "50's" and "80's" respectively)
  5. You think they will leave out the majority of scenes after the timeskip in order to compensate for the insanely low run time they are restricted to? Based on the trailer it seems like they are focusing on the MCs' life as children; or do you think they will attempt to go back and forth like in the novel? There's really only so much you can expect from something like this; it's like trying to fit GTA 5 onto an NES cartridge...
  6. I just hope they can deliver in the movie itself. It was Steven King's Magnum Opus, imo. I don't see how a mere 2-3 hour movie can capture Its magnificence Edit: I just watched the actual video you linked, Kyoshi (I at first assumed it was that 10 sec teaser from like over a year ago). And I gotta say, It actually looks pretty decent. Much better than I expected at least. Only real problem I have is the actual redesign of Pennywise himself. Tim Curry's big creepy alien head will forever be scarier than "generic creepy clown #7,345". I hope they capitalize on all the special effects they now have in the modern era to make Pennywise's mindfuckery all the more disturbing. Would be cool to see them really explore how his REAL form looks (the spider thing from the mini-series always sat the wrong way with me). ^That's what I like to hear. I assume an NC-17 rating is in order if they REALLY plan to go all out on accuracy... Somehow, I doubt it tho lol
  7. ^Pretty much this. When I do watch the news I do so mostly out of necessity instead of "wanting to".
  8. A ) NSFW material can be easily accessed pretty much anywhere on the Internet; this site allowing for such behind an age-wall isn't something out of the norm. If a minor lies about their age, that is on themselves, it's not the site that is at fault. B ) Those are two contradicting statements right there. The show itself is family friendly. The "normal" sections of this forum are also family friendly. I am proposing a section for adults only; this would only add to the diversity and encapsulate all civil aspects of the fandom (I am not saying ANYTHING is allowed to be posted there; moderation will be required just like on any other board) C ) Again, I do not know of any other active forum where the main purpose is to critique, discuss, and recommend Clop materials. I have asked several times for people to point me in the direction of such a site, which not a single person has been able to supply. Most websites that allow for Clop actually discourage meaningful discussion in favor of "just enjoying the images and moving on". Seeing how many articulate and intelligent people this forum houses, it makes me excited at the potential goldmine of conversation a proper NSFW board could facilitate.
  9. Is it really so hard to implement an age-restricted board to MLP Forums?
  10. Aww, that's no fun xD I love the thrill of discovery! /)^3^(\ ^Best Fire Emblem ship imo. With both at S Rank, they utterly demolish everything in their path. Nowi being the powerhouse and Gaius supplying the speed and movement range. Even at Lunatic + this pairing had me covered (my other troops became seriously underleveled due to this o,o) And that was a pairing I went for without any prior knowledge, as I played Fire Emblem Awakening completely blind from spoilers or online guides. Discovering things that just work in games like this is soooo satisfying! \(^o^)/
  11. I'm talking about games that incorporate diverse characters that give the player the option to pick and chose which to "pursue" in a romantic way. Basically, it's like a side-quest type mechanic that tasks the player with satisfying certain prerequisites in order to progress within these "relationships". I personally, have mixed opinions on this, as it can very easily lend itself as a quick bandaid to cover up shallow gameplay. When utilized properly, however, they can be a really great payoff, getting the player THAT much more immersed within the game world
  12. What do you guys think of the prominence of waifus as a gameplay mechanic in modern day Japanese Rpgs? For example, Harvest Moon, Fire Emblem, that kinda stuff. I have noted many anti-waifu people on these forums and I can only assume there are an abundance of pro-waifu people as well, so I thought this would make for a good topic =^-^=
  13. Who are your favorite content creators on Youtube and why? Mine are: Digital Foundry: In depth hardware/ software analysis with tons of content on all the new up and coming videogame titles. I especially like how, for the most part, they maintain an extremely professional disposition with how they convey the information to the audience. In my opinion, far too many Youtubers like to force cringy attempts at humor into their videos (I am also quite partial to those smexy British accents /)^3^(\ ). Weapon Wheel Podcast: The only podcast I have found that manages to thoroughly entertain me every time I listen. As far as I am concerned, this is the best podcast on Youtube. Hard8times, Blackb0nd, and Kid Smoove are by far the "stars" of the show, and the way they go at each others' throats is so freaking hilarious. BrokenGamesHD (BG), Jackmovejohnny, and Jimmy play their role too in contributing to the overall enjoyment of the show. They function as the "straight" man role in opposition to Hard8 and Kid Smoove's over-the-top antics. Blackb0nd & Hard8 are actually pretty damn entertaining on their own channels, but when all of these Youtubers come together for 2-ish hours, it amplifies the overall entertainment value, at least, tenfold. My Life in Gaming: A retro gamers paradise. They cover things SO freakin in-depth you will likely do a double take when you see the length of some of their videos. In particular, their "RBG" series is extremely compelling and informative. If you wanna get the BEST possible experience out of your old NES-N64, GB-GBA, etc, this channel is the essential missing element in your life xD (The editing and music they use in their videos are a treat to behold, btw). My only complaint would be that both of the guys who do the presentation have slightly annoying voices lol. Arlo: Covers a lot of recent Nintendo games. He likes to do reviews, first impressions videos, and opinion pieces on the gaming landscape in general. While his Nintendo fanboy-ness is worn on his sleeve resulting in him damage controlling many issues modern day Nintendo suffers from, he is extremely passionate and intelligent with the way he conveys his own perception to the audience. I don't always agree with his points (which can honestly be said for any of the Youtubers on this list), but it is still a joy to listen to him rambling on about this or that. His videos make for excellent food for thought too Cinemassacre: I don't think much of an explanation is needed. The home of the renowned Angry Video Game Nerd. James Rolfe is definitely the "piece de resistance" here. His Avgn and Board James series' being some of the most enjoyable Youtube content I have ever witnessed. Sure, some of his newer Avgn episodes were going down in quality as he started forcing the anger a bit too much, but recently, he has been improving once again. Some of his newest episodes are near indistinguishable from the quality exhibited in his earlier episodes; truly an astonishing feat. Mike and Bootsy help round out the channel offering some really enjoyable playthroughs of retro videogames. At first I wasn't too fond of these guys, but the more I watch of them, the better they get \(^o^)/ Honorable mentions for channels I used to enjoy immensely, but their content has either gone downhill recently, or they have become extremely inactive: Actar's Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/user/Actar576295 UltimateUkFFFan: https://www.youtube.com/user/KHFMcAwesome Nume86(?) I think that was her name lol. Channel closed down several years ago Deepercutt: https://www.youtube.com/user/Deepercutt (one of the pioneers of the YTP and one of the best ones to date; if it wasn't for him, I likely would not have begun watching Youtube videos as I was extremely anti-internet in my early teen years. His content was so captivating that it got me to put aside my bias) Madpilot86: https://www.youtube.com/user/Madpilot86 TimoteiLSD: https://www.youtube.com/user/TimoteiLSD Cs188: https://www.youtube.com/user/cs188 ^Three other 10/10 YTP'ers
  14. #1. Mighty Joe Young (1998) #2. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005) #3. The BFG (2016) I would mention Mary Poppins but I always felt it was pretty overrated tbh...
  15. I'm sure it's been said already, buuut... "Say hello to my little pony" xD
  16. She was a cool badass in Season 1 and then (for SOME reason) the writers decided to turn her into a "2 dimensional character" even though she technically already was one. In other words, she was far better before the writers tried to force depth down her throat. (She was actually my #1 fav char at one point Q.Q Now she is close to the bottom of the list)
  17. Only if it is the Fluffy, Winged, Twilicorn.
  18. Read the rest of my post There aren't any other sites like the one you alluded to.
  19. My word choice was meant to convey the excitement at the novelty of a "adult section" on a forum meant to discuss a show about cute, cuddly cartoon ponies xD It is rather ironic to say the least
  20. Well, I have absolutely no experience when it comes to such things lol. As for your other question, I think they could lock the NSFW content behind an age wall based on the members' age. Sure, anyone can lie about their age, but by that logic, they could go out and find nasty stuff anywhere else on the internet with no restrictions either. It would be cool to have an "adults only" section on a forum like this xD
  21. Some of us aren't satisfied with just clopping. In fact, a select few of us (myself included) actually prefer to critique and discuss clop related materials; whether it be visual art, text based, you name it! Talking about stuff I am passionate about is one of my favorite things to do. If we just settled for doing those things instead of talking about them, sites like MLP Forums would be pointless, since "you could just go watch the show instead". :3
  22. There are active forums where you can discuss the intricacies of clop related materials? Would you kindly point me in the direction of such a wondrous paradise? Every site I have been to is either anti "lewd" stuffs: Mlp forums, Ponychan, EQD Or childish and cringeworthy: /mlp/, deviantart, derpibooru ^Also, the majority of those aren't proper forums. Imageboards, and blogs aren't exactly conducive to in-depth discussions with multiple hotlinked images per post
  23. Ah, looks like I finally found a thread that represents my kind of people /)^3^(\
  24. One of the worst episodes of season 6, yet I still give it around a 7/10 The quality in FiM has been increasing so much lately that even the weakest episodes are "average" at worst (well, with an exception to The Times they are a Changling, that is *shudders* e.e)
