      I think TMNT would probably be a better example in this case. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles '87 while I love that show, when you look at it nowadays it's very VERY cheesy and goofy. The '03 show blew that one out of the water with it's good story-telling, though some people might be turned off by it as it was rather Darker and Grittier than the old show (it's worth mentioning however that it is closer to the original source material that way.) and while I'm not that far...
