Sounds like that computer didn't want to deal with them, so it pulled out a random number just to shut them up. 

I always figured that life was basically meaningless and we have no real purpose, and that the real reason why we're so obsessed with finding out why we're here and what the meaning of life was is because, not only is the human brain not capable of handling nor comprehending the concept of non-existence or something having no purpose, but it's also a way we desperately try to distract ourselves from our universal fear of death.
