  1. The glow of the lights off your red scales reflected in my invisible glasses and blinded me, making it impossible to navigate there.
  2. Lol .. I love Twi, but she would be too busy trying to calculate and anticipate all the possible trajectories the ball might come from to actually fill the role I had a good time with this episode, and this is an early night for me every week, so it is the one I'm ending tonight with. I admit, I was not only surprised at how good Fluttershy and Pinkie were at the game almost at the getgo, but truly surprised when especially RBD stepped aside in favor of them competing. I did see the writing on the wall so to speak when AJ/RBD tried to put them through the practice drills and the peer pressure, but they made it right. The final game was fun to watch as well, and hey ... both Fluttershy and Pinkie really have the moves and look good doing it too.
  3. So this was my last episode for this Mor-night (sleep soon). I really don't think I could have landed on a better episode. I think I would have been right there with spike, if put in the same situation, almost the whole way through. I have no way of knowing yet, but the hints from Thorax toward the end do possibly suggest a future arc .. even if it's a couple episodes. I suspect if, in the future, Thorax does try what he suggested that it may sway a large portion of them, but surely not ever Queen Chrysalis.
  4. I had fun with this episode for the most part, save the very opening. My favorite two pranks were the Twilight fart and the Rarity cake. The first time Twi's cushion went off (I watched it a few times ;P) caught me off-guard but had me laughing till my eyes were wet. I got one of my aunts with the cushion gag once. Startled her to the point that the wooden chair flew halfway across the living room from the dining room lmao. With the exception of AJ's prank I didn't find the rest to be that well engineered, but it was still a good watch. The cookie zombies were pretty good too.
  5. That's my thoughts. I didn't particularly enjoy seeing any of the adults acting like self centered brats, completely missing the point of their involvement. Those who were supposed to be racing really got what ... a cameo at the end when they finally got to do what should have been done the entire time? Not a fan. Also, the younger ones 'did' speak up, but the adults were too preoccupied with what 'they' wanted to be bothered to listen ... up until the crash when they were not given a choice but to listen. I do, however, agree with pretty much everything JMTV99 said in their above post, even counting the few positives.
  6. This was a good episode to end the night (well, morning, but you know ... details) on. While I did find plenty of annoying concerning Quibble, there were some good funny parts with him, and he did kinda get the lesson driven through his thick skull after RBD saved him by the bridge. There is a point, though, where there is simply too much skepticism and too much analyzing which he fit the bill for doing. Dr Caballeron reminded me of Don Karnage from the 90s cartoon series Talespin .. both in voice and in demeanor, which was an unexpected but amusing surprise too. This is certainly one of the better episodes of the season so far, but I'm certainly going to reserve that 'best' assessment for after the finish of s6.
  7. I had a good time with this one, even if at first I was raging a bit at Rarity's insistence on conformity and over focus on impressing a social figure. I really liked Saffron and Coriander.
  8. Ok .. so .. I like the more assertive Fluttershy, and it was cool seeing who her parents actually are... but that's where it stops. Let's be real, the only breeze that comes from Zeph contains methane while he's slacking off in a chair. Certainly not one of my favorite episodes, but far from the bottom of the pit. That reaction of Dash's toward the end when Fluttershy's parents suggest she has a thing for Zeph is priceless though.
  9. Wow .. what's with all the hate on this episode? I had a great time with this one. I never found it dull and be assured there are certainly episodes that I have, and had to 'work to get through' as it were. In my opinion, if AJ hadn't realized the issue at the spa and worked to fix it, not only would that line have maintained itself indefinitely, but her and Rarity wouldn't have made it to the steam room period. I feel like AJ's friends helping her see the relevance of her routine on the farm was a good tie-in to the spa fix as well, as two problems were resolved the same day. Not realizing you are making something overly complicated or causing it to take longer than it needs to is not something that is indicative of intelligence. Everyone is susceptible to it, especially when you settle in to a routine way of handling a situation. Twilight had it correct that on occasion a fresh pair of eyes can indeed be helpful. Applejack and Twilight are, in fact, my two favorites of the now .. main 7. I seem to be in a smaller group when it comes to AJ though, it would seem. Not only from some of the prior commentary, but also in general from what I have observed online and in the merchandising in general. All said, I would never rate this below a 7/10 and if I were gong purely by my personal enjoyment of the episode it would be an 8/10. On a side note, my current shirt:
  10. Rarity is hardly my favorite out of the mane 6(7 technically with Starlight) ... more like dead last, but after the last couple episodes not really being favs .. especially in the case of Newbie Dash .. I had a blast watching this one. This is one of those episodes I had a good time from start to finish in. There were several seasons where there were episodes I was just bursting to discuss afterward and this one came close to those. Dash's face when she impersonates Rarity's expected reaction is absolutely priceless and spot on. I kinda liked the grinning Pinkie as she tail-sweeps through the shop too. Then there was the Ooops delivery of the merchandise lol. As you can tell by the naming, I've had experiences with them. Seeing it all come together toward the end was even fun. So yeah, this one's definitely one of the higher rated ones for me in this season.
  11. I really didn't like this episode at all. To be honest though, I can't join the throngs defending RBD. A lot of what came to pass could have been avoided if she had shown a bit of tact, not tried to act like an absolute egotistical showoff, had the guts to tell them why the nickname bothered her, and stopped with the 'I have to be better than all of them' shtick. As for the arguments against the 'fitting in' aspect ... a team is just that, 'a team' not a solo act. The majority of this episode simply was not a good look for her. She had some really good ones prior to this (like season 4 episode 5 and s5 ep 16). I feel like this was poorly written and poorly executed. Near the beginning of it, I was hoping it was going to be a heck of a lot better than what it turned out to be.
  12. I guess my view won't be popular, but I really don't like that they felt the need to pit the different races of pony against each other. That's feeling a bit too close to a real world situation. If I had to pick a favorite from the movie, it's easily Izzy.
  13. You know, I have a lot of issues with this movie, many of which I won't bring up here. But one thing I don't have an issue with is the music, which I thought was quite well done. I suppose on this we disagree.
  14. Most of the time you will find me pc gaming, specifically games such as 7 Days to Die, Valheim, Empyrion Galactic Survival, Stardew Valley, Rimworld or one of the other host of games in the arsenal. I've been a pc gamer since 1997. I tend to also spend a fair amount of time on twitch and mod for a stream as well. Many find it easier to refer to me as Mist. You would be surprised how many times I've been called Adrious or they couldn't pronounce it at all. I have quite a few videos on youtube, most of which are game related, including such things as WoW, steam games, and even Everquest.
  15. Well I mean (as a brony), if Hell ever opens a Dairy Queen chain it might happen, but otherwise it's not going to. I never bothered with mlp in any prior generation and I happen to be a FiM person. It's tough for me to think of Twilight or AJ in any other way, and they are my favorites. Frankly, I find both Pinkie (who is my favorite color) ... and Rarity to be highly annoying. I'm very early on, just in s2 now. I've already picked up a number of things for my meager collection including 4 backpacks .. one of which arrived today, and some of the TCG as I wanted that Twi poster. I mean, this is kinda like asking the question of whether Lion King fans are going to jump to the remake and forget the original movie. A movie I have a metric ton of stuff from. It's not happening. I found the live action remake to be an incredible dumpster fire. At the end of the day, people tend to have a bias towards what originally pulled them in.
