    Moonlight stops and drops on his back to make a snow angel. (steps: 199)

    Moonlight smiles. "Glad I could help. Good idea. Get under a tree, maybe make a real campfire, try to get warm. For now, I have to get back to the race. I have somepony I want to catch." He waves his wing and joins the other runners. (steps: 189)

    I wanted to say something, but then I started clicking the muffin on his profile and got distracted. It's crazy what Riki can do with the forums. Has it even been mentioned that he made a mod that adds dark mode? Congrats, Riki! Keep being awesome!

    Moonlight approaches Samurai and Chatterbox, thinking about the time when the stallion wanted to help him. "Hey. Are you alright?" He uses his wing to clear some snow off of Samurai. If he's dreaming, Moonlight closes his eyes and uses his dreamwalking ability to visit Samurai's dream and create a campfire inside to warm him up. (steps: 175)

    "What the hay is going on?" Moonlight's breath comes out in cold wisps of steam. @Shiny Silvermoon just passes him as she dashes towards Titanium, leaving a trail of ice behind her. Moonlight steps onto the slippery path and tries to get some speed by ice-skating. With his bat eyes, even at night, Moonlight has no problem seeing all the signs pointing in different directions. He hesitates for a moment, trying to remember the layout of Ponyville, before following the one he thinks is correct. (steps: 160)

    Moonlight feels a little hungry. He slows down to eat a mango. (steps: 144)

    Moonlight keeps running, waiting for another obstacle to emerge. It can't be far now. Just a moment longer. He's almost there. He'll be ready this time. (steps: 138)

    Moonlight sees a floating cube with a question mark. He picks it up, and after a moment it morphs into a firework rocket. Nitobit presses the space bar, and suddenly the rocket appears on Moonlight's back, giving him a speed boost! (steps: 127)

    "AGH!!!" Moonlight gasps in shock and sits on the ground as the stream hits his face. He tries to protect himself with his hooves, and when water stops flowing, he looks ahead, spotting giggling Titanium. "Oooh, I'll get you for that," he thinks. He shakes water and small remains of cake off of himself and dashes after her.

    Moonlight keeps running at a perfectly average pace. Not too slow and not too fast. He just runs. His speed is so average, he can't even think of anything to add to make it more interesting. Maybe he should wash off this whole cake batter, though. It's starting to become uncomfortable. (steps: 111)

    Moonlight sees leaves dropping all over the sinkhole. He lifts himself up to see Shiny bucking trees. It takes him a moment to realize she's trying to help. "Hey Silver! I'm Moonlight. Sure, I could use some help." He reaches his hoof to Silver, and the two ponies climb out of the hole, stepping on leaves to avoid sliding on the slippery slope, and catching each other whenever one is about to slip. After climbing out, Moonlight shakes as much chocolate and leaves off of himself as he can, which doesn't make his coat any less brown. If Shiny is still here, he thanks her for making their escape easier. He then makes a mental note to give Titanium a big hug before washing the chocolate off, and continues running. (steps, including 25% penalty: 101)

    Moonlight's hooves start slipping on the chocolate covering the ground. He tries to move how he thinks ice-skaters do, except he has no experience in ice-skating. With his eyes being focused on his hooves, he doesn't notice the subtle drop, where the sinkhole begins. He yelps in surprise as his forehooves immediately sink into the chocolate goop, and his entire front half follows, leaving his back legs kicking above the surface. It takes him a moment to roll forward, and when his head and torso come up, covered in cake batter and leaves, he looks like a very sweet mud monster. His big, blinking eyes are the only recognizable part of him as he looks at the hole he's in. He licks his hoof and smiles with content. "I might stay here for a moment," he thinks as he lets himself fall on his back with a splat. (Steps: 88)

    "But I like having you close. This way I don't need to shout to talk to you." Moonlight turns around to look at Samurai. His hoof hurts a little, but not enough to slow him down. The stallions are far apart, and he doesn't want to get too far from Titanium or slow her down. "I'll be fine, thanks!" (Steps: 86)

    "Titanium!" He uses her foreleg as a support as he stands up. "If I'd known this is how I get your attention, I would've tripped earlier!" He laughs and gives the mare a short hug. "Thank you. I won't forget that. Now let's go. We still have a long way ahead."

    A wild branch appears on the ground in front of Moonlight, like a ninja in the shadows ambushing the target. Moonlight remains unaware, as he looks where Titanium has disappeared behind the corner. Suddenly, his hoof hits the branch and he tumbles to the ground. He picks himself up, but his leg now hurts a little. (steps: 72)

    A small price to pay for being able to enjoy the rest of the run next to you.

    Moonlight ponders whether he can do a front flip or not. He's a quadruped, so it should be hard. But also a bat pony, so he's naturally agile. But if he tried and failed, it would be embarrassing. But if he did it, it would be so sick. He tries. And oh sweet Celestia, he does it! He does a perfect flip out of nowhere, lands on his hooves, and the excitement gives him a little speed boost! (steps: 66)

    "Shhh. Don't scream. We're in the middle of the forest. We'll be finished with you long before the police arrives." Moonlight tries to calm Titanium down. "Aren't you tired? The first obstacle must be close. You think you'll be alright?" He asks, concerned.
  21. Moonlight Wane
    Moonlight smiles as he sees his friend. "Shiny! Nice to see you! I had a fast start, trying to catch up to Titanium, but now I'm trying to save my energy for the obstacles. Just look at her! How can a pony run so fast?"

    Moonlight keeps running, frowning as he sees Titanium going way over the speed limit. For the first time in the run, he looks behind him to see how far- "What are they doing?" He starts laughing and can't stop for a good minute. "Hey, Titanium! Look at that!" @Wizard (steps: 50)

    Thinking he's done well enough for the start, Moonlight slows down to save energy for any obstacles they may encounter. He's very close to Titanium, who now probably can see him clearly in the rearview mirror. @Wizard (steps: 40)
