  1. Humans can be a bloodthirsty, greedy, fearful, and warlike lot. Having waged war against each other for millenniums and slaughtered senselessly or selfishly... Equestria, even if ponykind won, would lose so much. If ponies went to war against humans they would suffer, they would lose their innocence, and if any survived the war the land be a much darker place.
  2. @@Roughshod, Yes but what is offered I feel is a fair view of Princess Celestia, and gives strong argument on why she is so important and such a good ruler. I don't care if it is fanfiction the comic proved a point many have been trying to make.
  3. Greetings and thank you for the friendship you have offered ^ ^

Smiles, so how has your night (or day) been? It is 11:12 pm for me at the moment, just getting some posting down.

  4. @@Dulset Tarn, The feat of completing the spell I would say, though more for the realization Twilight had that came from her experience that day and figuring out how to finish the spell. @@PathfinderCS, Though I realize I was probably hoofing the line, I am guessing I am not one of the insulters since my post wasn't hidden?
  5. @@Dulset Tarn, Sighs, Twilight is the Princess of Friendship what do you think Sherlock? ... putting aside the smartass answer the way I personally see it is that for those ponies that 'awaken' as an alicorn once an inner discovery takes place inside. Sometimes it happens unexpectedly, like Cadance after defeating the witch that attacked her village, or perhaps expectantly such as at the guidance of another such as Celestia with Twilight... but both required a realization of one's destiny or purpose and unlocking of magic within. Though with Twilight the catalyst for this was completing an unfinished spell. What were the echoed words of the spell that led to Twilight figuring out how to finish it? "A mark of one's destiny, singled out alone, fulfilled." And what was the words Twilight wrote? "From all of us together, together we're friends. With the marks of our destinies made one, there is magic without end!" At least, this is what I have come up with when it comes to what I have been given and consideration what what as not shown. For example the fact that no where does it show Celestia using magic on Twilight before or during her transformation. One would have better argument that Starswirl's spell brought the change, though in actual fact indirectly since the spell only transported Twilight somewhere else, then the princess herself.
  6. Unless you can prove the animators forgot to animate Celestia horn glowing, such a reply as that has no merit. Since there is no animation of Celestia using magic or casting a spell during Twilight's transformation one must state that Celestia did not. The magic came from Twilight herself, not from Celestia, and unless you can offer evidence of this otherwise being the case I am calling BS. Also, again, I must point out the fact that Cadance transformed into an alicorn with Celestia not even in the picture until after this change had taken place and young filly/former pegaus found herself in that astral plane Twilight had gone to and met Celestia (As per Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell). As such, unlike your idea that the animated 'forgot' to animate Celestia using magic on Twilight, there is evidence that one can became an alicorn without help from or even guidance of another alicorn. No matter how much you try dismissing this book because it wasn't used on the show, it has better canonicity then you statement that the animators 'forgot' to animatr Celestia using magic. Please stop this, it is getting annoying since I receive email everytime I get a reply. And given I open all such emails from MLP Forums it means I away see you trying desperately to make Celestia in the wrong. Sighs ((I apologize if this comes off a bit ranty, I am getting a bit annoyed))
  7. @@Pinkie-Guy, I will say if the writers did try something like that, it is with the hope that it would be both Celestia and Luna the sacrifice their lives. I am of the belief that either both Celestia and Luna should rule together or neither of them should rule and both of them should be taken out of the picture. I don't want to see Luna ruling by herself now they the she and her sister have been reunited... that and blame certain fans. The following feeling came about because of my dislike of the Solar Empire and Lunar Republic, of Celestia being taken down so that Luna could rule alone.
  8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHpdWhFM6KI Here is a video I feel can be considered quite fitting.
  9. Though it should be noted, at least in some series, that the replacement hand was made from a morphic metal that not only could have the shape of a normal hand but that of a harpoon. It could be become a weapon when he wanted it too or be just a normal, if metal, hand. It was actually quite 'handy'.
  10. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, I offer the words of Linkara:
  11. Actually no he has another weakness, or at least this is something he has no resistance too, is magic. He has no defenses against this, and lets be honest for any with a knowledge of the DC universe there are those with magic. Heck a major annoyance that none of Superman's powers can defeat is that of Mister Mxyzptlk, actually a villain that shares much in common with Discord, in which the only way to defeat him/have him go away is trick him into saying his name backwards. Also he does not have to be dull and often times, in the comics at least, he has not been dull. What you need for a superhero like Superman moral issues for him to overcome and have his moral code prevent him from using all his strength or he will kill people. Where he must overcome challenges not by punching it but by teamwork and be an example for others to follow. Where he has to face powerful and dangerous threats that his powers do not allow him to overcome without innocent lives getting killed, forcing him to overcome such challenges in different ways. Superman is not supposed to be the 'relatable' and 'gritty' hero but one that people are inspired by, the moral hero with all the power in the world who constantly has to hold back or he will hurt if not even kill people. That his strength is so great that he has to focus on not tearing of a head with a single punch or have every bone in a person's body. Where he could take over the world and 'fix the worlds problems' but doesn't because of his morality. He is a hero that is forced to hold back, to make sure he cannot ever allow himself to become corrupted or people will suffer. That is in many ways why superman still works Also. I again post this video
  12. On all those mentioning Superman, I have this video to offer:
  13. @@Dulset Tarn, Hmm, I think I see at least part of the problem. Its considering what the changlings are and how they are shown in A Canterlot Wedding, on what their goal was compared to what they needed. I guess I can see that, though I admit I can't fully or perhaps even partly agree because on seeing certain details differently. Like you considering Cadance a love generator that the changlings could just keep locked up and feed on whenever they are hungry, no need for anypony else. But still I guess I can see why you would find FieryJoker video stupid given your point of view. You're also making assumptions on how the changlings feed, but it was admittingly not very well explained by the writers. Sighs I still disagree, but I have considered your post and position on this.
  14. @@Roughshod, Well, it is more covering many of the issues with A Canterlet Wedding not only Celestia's place in it. But I was offering that Celestia couldn't be accused of stupidity if the villain was actually smart in their planning, as even the best of leaders can find themselves apart of another's plotting and planning. By bringing Chrysalis up a bit it allows Celestia to have more excuse in failure, as my defense of the princess does not involve having her be perfect or unable to make mistakes. Also I apologize if my posts have come off a bit petty and childish.
  15. I just have, though it is in the other thread for the A Canterlot Wedding itself. Convince me that the FieryJoker has no idea what he is talking about and that his video is stupid, that I am being stupid in offering the video here in trying to show a different way to look at things. I am all ears... eyes, however the expression works online.
  16. Okay then, why couldn't Chrysalis have planned not for trying to perfectly mimic Cadance but instead manipulate Twilight is coming offer as unreasonable and possessive? Her focus being on taking care of the Elements of Harmony, by divided the Mane Sis and turning Twilight's friends, mentor, and brother against her? Where she was in many of her actions buying time for her minions to break through the shield spell and enter Canterlot. Of the idea that she could have taunted Twilight in the crystal caves into attack Cadance with the hope that even if she escaped the bride would be indisposed? Why couldn't it be fair explanation to say that Chrysalis only acted up when Twilight was around or when she would hear about it from her friends, saying things the way she did just to make Twilight suspicious of while leaving her friends clueless? All this would go a long way in explaining Chrysalis' plan and actions, in showing how yes she actually could be considered fairly brilliant in the way she went about things. Am I say FieryJoker's explanation and thoughts cover all the problems some fans had with the episode or the fact that Celestia still lose when fighting the changling queen? No, but it still is a solid explanation for much of what went on... unless you can tear his video apart in detail?
  17. No, I am justified. You soundly and solidly dismissed the FieryJoker's video without really explaining why. He offered explanation for his reasoning and thoughts while you haven't taken the time to explain why you feel his reasoning is dumb.
  18. The problem is unlike the FieryJoker you haven't offered explanation, you say his reasoning is dumb now explain why they are dumb.
  19. Well I disagree and feel you have dismissed this video without even giving it consideration. You own bias blinding you from the fact his explanation and reasoning for Chrysalis actually work with what is show in a Canterlot Wedding. You didn't even try to take even a moment to consider what was said!
  20. Sighs, you clearly did not take the time to even consider what he said if you're saying this. He is offering strong, solid explanation for what Chrysalis did using what was shown in a Canterlot Wedding. Offering an alternate view/interpretation which shows why yes what she did was actually a much more solid plan then many fans thought... but you have dismissed it completely, without consideration of any of it.
  21. Here is a good video I feel offers reasoning why A Canterlot Wedding was not a mark against Celestia, that Chrysalis was actually just that good of a planner to pull of what she did.
  22. Here is a good video which plays well at considering the show positively and even as brilliant.
  23. I was I felt meant to be implied in the season 1 pilot, and stated by staff I think, that Celestia had been banished into the sun with her reappearing as the sun rises.
  24. In my Ponyfinder roleplay I have deer be in may ways like the elves in most fantasy settings. A introverted race with a strong connection to nature and with their own type of magic, insulated and often unfriendly to outsiders. Laughs
