@, Why? I'm curious because Rarity has solidly held my second favorite of the Mane Six with Twilight in first place since Season 1. I'm wondering why Rarity would fall from your favorite pony spot, to be replaced with another.

It may have, a while back, been posted but I stumbled upon this is my favorites folder on Deviantart and felt like sharing it since I still feel it was a very nice thought towards my favorite mare of the Mane Six:

I thought it would be interesting to see what others can bring forward when it comes to their favorite lines or scenes from the many MLP tumblr blogs that have popped up over the years. It can be just a single line spoken by one within, or full sections of text that stick out to you. It can be lore building established, or a discussion between those within, or a single statement or thought by a character. Now I ask, while feeling this shouldn't have to be said, please pay attention to the site rules when posting. Whether it be the text you quote, or perhaps the tumblr posts themselves, trying not to post anything that can get this thread in trouble because it is inappropriate for the site. Also you may put down more then one quote it you like in a single post, it doesn't have to be one quote per post. I will start with something I listened to recently between the blogs Ask Discord Doctor and Fractured Loyalty, with Rainbow Dash teaching the Doctor how to fly: You feel that? How the wind moves over each feather? How the slightest movement changes your pitch, your banking? Work with it, practice, teach yourself just how much or how little effort you need to control yourself in the air. Don't be afraid to experiment. Flying is pretty easy once you understand how it works. Imagine the air you're moving through as an ocean. Your body is a rowboat, its oars your wings. What happens when you just move the oars up and down? You don't go anywhere. You need to push the boat through the water with your oars. The same is true with your wings, you push yourself through the air, 'rowing' through the current. Yet above everything else, just remember one thing. Flying is a privilege, a gift. We gain the ability to move through the skies without effort, without the aid of anything else but our own bodies. At the cost of being at the mercy of the very skies we soar through. Never forget that the skies can take away that privilege whenever they feel like it. Respect the skies, and all it contains, and it will let you go anywhere and everywhere you ever want to go. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is another from AskThePoniesInTheBox involving two guards discussion the princesses and on offering a reason why Celestia reads harlequins, trashy romance novels, this consideration is brought up: What does being immortal entail? Well... it means she wont die from growing old, I guess. Right. Now from that, think you can tell me why she reads those books? I... I honestly have no clue. Figures, let me make it easier for you hollow horn. What happens at the end of every single one of those books? They marry and live with each other happily until... oohhh. Seems like you do have two brain cells to rub together, care to use them and elaborate? I can do better then that you senile old cloud farter. Okay so those stories always have a happy ending, with the couple loving each other until the day that they die. Except, she can't have that since she is immortal. She would have to watch her mate grow old and die, so instead she reads romance novels. And now you know why every solider in the royal legion has their coat and mane dyed, and their eyes enchanted to remove different iris colors. Um.. I do? And there I thought there was still hope for you stalagmite head. Each rank has a different color set, you tar hides had gray coats and purple hair, solar guards like me have white coats and blue hair, the elite guard have white hair with gray coats, and so on and so forth. That way they all look the same. To the princesses, the guard never changes. Now admittingly I do not view the royal sisters as immortal, and officially they are not now given the Journal of the Two Sisters, but the above still does hold up strongly. Celestia and Luna would still outlive anyone they form a relationships with, watching as they grow old and die while they stay young and carry on. If they fall in love, it would end in tragedy for them as they would always eventually lose the one they love. That and this adds interesting lore involving the royal guard which very well explains why they share a uniform appearance.

@@TailsIsNotAlone, Hmm, well I see this fan fiction more favorably then this but perhaps it is because of how tired I have been of those who try to make Celestia out to be the worst thing ever. Of note, is that I am not talking about those who merely explore the idea of of tyrannical, manipulative, trollish, or incompetent in a fanfiction or story idea... but those who honestly believe Celestia is of such a character. This is why I find The Folly of Celestia such a breath of fresh air, more then that I feel it shows a well thought out debate. More I find the accusationary side was very realistic from conversions I have had on forums, not made into a strawman but offering their own points good or bad. Yet I am then glad to see the author, through the eyes and mouth of Twilight Sparkle, fair counterpoints even if a perfectly solid answer can be offered. I am sorry to say that I have seen those that would continue to hate of Celestia despite all that is offered by defenders of Princess Celestia. Twilight won the debate, but her opponent would not let go of her hate and resentment, and was left alone. I admit though to being curious of what this 'anti-Twilight' is or wonder if she may be an AU Twilight, perhaps a dark side created by another or unknowingly by Twilight. Still, every point made was good I feel and the defense raised was much better then I could ever give. Seriously, I saw nothing out of place, and I feel the FieryJoker was more then fair towards those that attack Celestia while offering strong counterpoints. Again though, these are my feelings of the subject and I am just glad that I now have something I can offer that can combat the criticism and unfair attacks of others against Celestia better then I have ever in the past. Even if I don't use the video itself, I would use the points offered by it in defending a princess so mistreated as the diarch of the sun. Also, on why Twilight struggles at times is because as mentioned, she has never taken the time to consider the arguments presented her. I find it realistic that she might be at first uncertain how to counter certain points made. Yet she does and does so brilliantly, the words make by the cloaked figure were not always easy ones to answer but as all debates it was a situation of give and take. Both Twilight and Anti-Twilight conceded to certain points. This is a point I would like to use, quoted from another commentor, that I feel really shows itself in the fanfiction. There was a purpose to this fanfiction, but one I argue was well thought out, reasoned, and considered while allowing the opposing side the chance to offer their own points. This is something else I feel the need to point out that worked well in my eyes for the story. Something else that should be noted, by offering a reply by another on the subject... again.

@@Honsou, Actually, in the comics at least, they have had Luna take her sister's day job for a day... and she realized Celestia job was fair too tiring and busy for her with fair too many meetings, activities, and social events. All the while with Celestia taking a day off and going to the spa, as offered by Luna... and then Luna saying she wanted the night again, leaving her pulling a double shift despite how exhausted she was by the end of the day. I found it especially humorous since for all intents Celestia had to pull double shift herself for a 1000 years and offering the idea that she would love her sister to do her job every now and then. -chuckles-

My brother had logged in using my computer before and I didn't realize that I was still logged into his account. It was actually annoying, no matter how many I logged out and tried logging into my own account. As I was saying though, it would seem Facepunch has a number of My Little Pony threads. I consideration is that the Mod who has banned the OP either had something against Brony fans or was perhaps only using it as an excuse.

Please do not be deceived by the image and title, this fanfiction is an impressively written defense of Princess Celestia against those fans who have criticized her actions and decisions in the show, against those that have suggest she is a tyrant, troll, puppet master, or simply an incompetent leader who risks the lives of others... all under the disguise of a story focused on Twilight having to resist and stand again a figure who is filled with hate and anger against Celestia. One who seeks to convince Twilight that her beloved mentor is an evil and manipulative tyrant who doesn't care about any pony but herself, a princess that must be dethroned and Twilight take her place or if not another, preferably Princess Luna. @@Unlikeable Pony, Honestly I find it refreshing that the villain is not some huge threat, at least not yet, and because it allowed for a change of pace. More there have been many, myself included, who feel this pilot while a bit more low key was also among the creepiest episode with a villain scary because she is more... 'real', the sort of villain one could see in our world in that her manipulativeness and charisma is just the sort of thing that could have an effect in our world. That and the reference of Harrison Bergeron was also nice, and really I could see her also making a fair comparison to villain Amon in Avatar. Really Starlight Shimmer has the potental to be a very interesting recurring villain if the writers don'r mess her up, even a season long villain.
