I am a very new brony, after having watched mlp for the first time yesterday. Before this I had scorned the whole mlp fandom, lumping it in with furries and weeaboos. My friends, who are all bronies, do not even know about my change of heart, so I am still a closet brony[they are on the forum too, so don't tell them ;-) ]. The reason I don't want to tell them is because I was a huge brony hater up until yesterday. As a matter of fact, last May I told one of my friends who wrote fanfics at school that he was everything that encyclopedia dramatica said about bronies. The next day my friend came back laughing, saying that ED was one of the funniest sites he had ever seen. However, my plan to change him did not work as I thought it would. I kept trying other plans to change him, such as introducing him to the fallout games. Little did I know about fallout Equestria, making him just love the fandom more. I then just stopped trying to change him. At this point I turned a bit cold to my friend for not listening to me, but we remained friends. Now, fast forward to this week. Recently, I had been on ED a lot, and finally and I checked out the brony article for a laugh. After reading it, I realized that my points against bronies were based on my perception. I had never even watched the show, despite saying I did several times in an attempt to make my points valid. So I decided to watch the first episode. I started it up with a very negative mind. Within the first two minutes I was hooked. The characters were truly captivating and the animation well done. So now I realize that I should have been the one to change, instead of trying to change others.
