No. Japan attacking Pearl Harbor was practicaly a death sentence and really a strategic disaster. Had Japan engaged America in a less sneaky, backstabbing way, MAYBE the American public would be willing to negotiate peace if we were decisively defeated. But that would require at least occupation of Hawaii and Alaska and the total destruction of the US fleet, which was practically impossible. I mean, the US wanted revenge for Pearl Harbor. Japan bit off more than they could chew. The US public was willing to fight this war, while Japan was increasingly resource stretched and industrially impotent. As the war went on the Axis grew weaker while the Allies grew stronger. I can't envision a realstic scenario of Japan winning the war unless they could somehow destroy the Pacific fleet, invade Australia and India, and blockade the West coast and the Panama Canal AND the Southwest Passage so America would have no way to move its fleet to the Pacific. And that's just not possible.

No, definetely not. It would have significantly delayed the liberation of the Philippines and surrender of Japan. But Japan had already lost far too many pilots, airplanes and ships. Japan's industrial capacity was nowhere near the strength of the United States, so within weeks America would be rebuilding whatever they lost. Furthermore, Japan did not have the tesources or manpower to conduct any kind of effective counter offensive. Japan lost after Midway. Hell, Japan lost after Pearl Harbor. America was not willing to surrender, and we had the manpower and industry to win a war of attrition.
