  1. Boy, that guy doesn't really seem to be doing much to fight back. Change of subject but how many people here are playing with their keyboards and how many are using some kind of controller?
  2. I can get into the trotspot server, I'd just like to know how to make my own since that one probably won't be around forever.
  3. Well, all attempts I made to set up a server have failed. I'm not sure why but my friend cannot connect to it because it always times out. I hope someone makes a tutorial for MTSP soon because I don't always want to have to rely on others to play the game online. I also tried Lunaport just to see what it's like. It wouldn't even open.
  4. Well, Twilight is my favorite pony although I'm told I play best with AJ, which I certainly wasn't expecting since characters like her usually aren't my specialty.
  5. I know the rake gems are an AA move but you have to admit it's a little weird to see one rise up right underneath someone's feet and just pass right through them. I'm hoping they at least address that somehow. As for Pinkie's and AJ's launcher, they can be ducked right under unless you've already got your opponent in hitstun, and even then they have to be positioned just so, which makes them much less useful than Rarity's and Twilight's launchers, which sweep up from underneath.
  6. Obviously since this is an alpha there are things that still need tweaking. For example, I tend to have trouble connecting with certain launchers (Pinkie and AJ) while Twilight's crouching medium is practically useless because of how often it fails to connect in the game's current state. As far as I can tell, Pinkie's throw currently does no damage, and unless it's a design choice you can only throw in one direction.for each character. Rarity's diagonal gem missiles do no damage to opponents on the ground, which I'm hoping is just something they haven't gotten around to yet or else it'll be quite jarring. These aren't really complaints, of course. I understand that this game is still in its early stages and this build wasn't supposed to get out. I'm just pointing out my observations.
  7. Check the DNS box, join as a client unless you forwarded port 7500, and the server destination is thetrotspot.tk (null)
  8. I've heard Lunaport is just an inferior MTSP, so you're probably better off just using MTSP, even if you have some trouble getting it to cooperate. Lunaport isn't likely to be much better.
  9. I don't suppose there are any tech savvy people here who would know how to set up a server? I tried a couple of times but I clearly must be doing something wrong because it isn't working.
  10. Boy that's a little TOO easy. Of course, this IS an alpha. Applejack's "The Pony's Elbow" can even be an infinite in the game's current state.
  11. Rarity's diagonal gem shooting is Down Down + A/B/C Her super is....I believe it's QCFx2+D. It might be C. I'm having a brain fart right now. Rarity's diagonal gem shooting is Down Down + A/B/C Her super is....I believe it's QCFx2+D. It might be C. I'm having a brain fart right now.
  12. So I've spent some time with the alpha version and without giving away character related information I can say that I like what I've seen. Obviously there are bugs here and there but this was not meant to get out this early so it's perfectly understandable. It's actually less buggy than I was expecting it to be, As for the fighting, in its current state it seems to be quite generous with the OTG moves. This could be changed of course, but right now there are a lot more moves that can hit a downed opponent into a combo starter than you would typically see in most fighting games. Even a novice button masher could probably get at least 10 or 11 hits on a fairly consistent basis with most of the current characters. Of course, this is assuming that nobody is actually fighting back. I don't know if techs work yet.. Like I said, this could be intentional or it could be something they just haven't gotten around to altering yet.
  13. It's already leaked, really. The damage is done. They've already said that they won't be upset if you choose to play it so the only reason you have not to do so is if you don't want to spoil it for yourself before the full game is out. I agree that the original leak wasn't cool, but at this point there's nothing that can be done about it.
  14. Celestia has been added to Civilization V via a mod. The Equestrian civilization receives a -20% unhappiness bonus, which is very good for encouraging rapid growth. They also get the Wonderbolt unit instead of fighter planes, which use horses instead of oil, and the recruiting office instead of the stables, which adds production for every livestock tile that's been worked. I did a marathon game last night as Celestia, trying to keep my empire as peaceful as possible. I put more work into building up culture and science than I did into putting together a military, since my only neighbor was the Polynesians and we were friends. I built Canterlot, Ponyville, Manehattan, Cloudsdale, Fillydelphia, and Las Pegasus. It was pretty nice. Then I find out that Polynesia was stealing technology secrets from me. I forgive them for it since I figure Celestia wouldn't start a war over a single offense. Of course shortly after this they tell me I suck and that they are publicly announcing to all the other civs that I suck. This was after I had already lent them several of my own resources and a hefty pile of money while they were having an economic crisis. Right about then I started building up my military. Since I had such a strong economy, it was easy to just buy new soldiers instead of wasting turns training them. I put them at my borders and let them sit, just in case Polynesia decides to do something stupid. Everything is fine for a while, except Polynesia keeps mouthing off to me. I do my best to ignore it. Then one day they openly threaten me. All bets are off. Celestia may be peaceful, but she knows when to throw the gauntlet down. I declare war on Polynesia and after a heated skirmish I capture one of their cities. From there I decide they've learned their lesson and offer to sign a peace treaty. They have the BALLS to refuse and tell me that the only way they'll sign a peace treaty is if I give them all my gold. I'm talking about 40,000 gold pieces. In this game, that's a lot, and they demand all of it after losing a battle. So I nuke them. Not very Celestia-like, I suppose, but I make sure that I got five other Elements of Harmony where that hefty dose of Generosity came from. They wise up and offer me riches to make me stop. I accept. From then on the game is standard fare and I eventually win by creating the world's first utopia with my superior culture. On a side note, I also created the religion of Celestianism and converted all the Polynesian cities to it by sending missionaries to preach to them about how Celestia sent her only sister to the moon for their sins. Minus the A-bomb, I think I did things mostly how Celestia would have done it. Maybe I could have won without nuking Polynesia, but I was getting pretty sick of their trash talk. Maybe later I'll try a self-imposed challenge to win as Celestia using ONLY peaceful measures. Or maybe I could allow myself a few soldiers since she has the Royal Guard, but no weapons of mass destruction.
  15. As much as I like these updates, I really wish they'd show us some more of the pegasi. We've barely seen Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy at ALL so far. I don't care if they're incomplete, I just want to see where they're at so we have some idea of the progress that's been made.
  16. That's actually Rainbow Dash's crouch sprite. Her standing idle sprite hasn't been released yet.
  17. I imagine the actual boss will end up being either Luna or Celestia. Total guess though.
  18. Mayor Mare is supposedly the announcer, so she won't be playable. No crossover characters, so no Dr. Whooves. The rest of them are possible, although I have my doubts about the CMC and Spike, given their short height. I'd wager more on Gilda.
  19. Fighting is Magic was at EVO this year. Here's a link to the archived stream. http://www.twitch.tv/fightinggamebronies/b/324039843
  20. Did anyone else get a phishing warning when they went to Equestria Daily?

  21. In case anyone was wondering, I left Luna out of the poll because she's never actually appeared as a filly in the show.
  22. Twilight is still my first choice, but I'm starting to think Pinkie would be a close second. Most people tend to live dull lives of office drudgery and overall mediocrity, and the whole rat race can really suck the spirit right out of a person. However, I think that having a friend like Pinkie to greet you at the end of each day would somehow make it all worthwhile.
  23. Ponibooru, Y U NO WORK?

  24. As far as I recall, all the non-ponies from season one would be... Spike Gilda Zecora (maybe. Kind of a grey area with zebras) Diamond Dogs Chief Thunderhooves Little Strongheart I'm obviously not including giant monsters like the ursa or tiny ones like the parasprites. Also, they distinctly said that only season one characters will be in it, so no Discord or changelings or Iron Will.
