Can you provide me some tips in writing a funny pony book?

Now, influenced by MLP:FiM and Gmod, I would now do these twists to the typical "pony tales":

 

* the story is in the horse/pony's perspective.

 

* the pony explains things in his/her/its point of view

 

* the pony is frequently misunderstood

 

* the pony gets into ridiculous situations

 

* the story should be hilarious (with the pony being subject towards absurd situations), but it can be serious (e.g. highlighting abuse, relationships with Humans, how it might have lived with other horses, relationships with other animals (especially birds))

 

Now, can you share to me some tips of your own so that I can write a funny/hilarious pony book - minus the clichés!
