It's the closest thing they've came to their old melodic death metal sound in a LONG time. The rest of the album's quite good, too. It's my favourite album by them since Clayman.

 

I love when a band surprised you like that. Bury Your Dead did the same thing for me. After Cover Your Tracks, the band started to go downhill, putting out an -okay- release with Beauty and the Breakdown, but then the next two albums flat out sucked.

 

Then they hit me with Mosh 'n Roll and the return of their original singer, and all was right with the world.

Check this out! The song is called "I've Been So Mad Lately" by "Butt Trumpet". This song is their number 1 hit, but also, underrated. It's a song composed of pure rage and anger and was meant for being in a "pissy mood". Their lead singer is a female and she died of a heart attack, go figure.

Perhaps I worded that wrong. I don't necessarily HATE metalcore, but in my experience, the amount of mediocre bands far outweigh the talented ones. There's a lot of good metalcore, though (August Burns Red, Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, and hell, even Bullet For My Valentine come to mind), but on top of that, there's also a lot of bands who are whiny, overprescribe breakdowns, and don't do much to differentiate their songs from each other. Just my opinon.

I hear ya. That's a much more palatable opinion than the original one.
