Agree 100% with that analysis. Shortly after this thing first was revealed at TGS I was excited, but as specs came out I became aware that Sony was making a mistake by raising the floor on dev costs. Then you have the marketing issues, the memory card snafu, and Sony being Sony.

 

It's still a pleasant surprise that they nailed the PS4 launch considering their history with console and handheld launch misses.

The psvita sadly has no games that interest enough people,unless you don't mind importing japanese games.

 

I don't even use mine anymore. Amazing handheld,not enough games of my interest.

I bought one for the specific purpose of being able to play Isaac: Rebirth on the go. In my opinion that game alone is worth the money.

 

 It has a few other indie games worth checking out though. Like Spelunky, Hotline Miami, 1001 spikes. Sure you can get these on steam but it's nice to be able to play them anytime you want. I'm happy with my purchase, though I can see why people who aren't interested in these games wouldn't be.

I got one mainly for Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

 

It's a promising platform, but it for one reason and another, it's back was against the wall from the start.

They made the same mistake Sega did years ago with the Sega Genesis. A system that is significantly more powerful than its competitor and had great potential but for whatever reason was severely lacking in games. The cost of the Vita games does indeed make sense especially because due to the increasingly tenuous financial situations consumers are looking for more affordable options as well as variety of games. I think this may also be why it is taking longer and longer for home consoles to bring out the games, it seems like Sony and Microsoft (Sony especially) are emphasizing specs far too much and emphasizing actual games far too little.

I'm really tempted to buy a psvita just for Dangan Ronpa. I've heard a lot of good things about that game.

I'll never waste my money on one. Sony should stick to strictly consoles.
