should they have made 13 more episodes in season 3 instead of Equestria Girls?

So Season 3 had half the number of episodes then the other ones (I am assume to make time to work on the first Equestria Girls). dos anyone else wish they would have just made 13 more season 3 episodes? I really like S3. all the episodes were A or B's (to me anyway) but I think that is because they cut out all of the C or D episode ideas since they would not have time to work on them so we only got the best of the 26 episode ideas they had. what do you guys think?

It would have been better indeed. But as they had other things to do (the movie...), these 13 additional episodes might have been bad...

I didn't like EQG so more episodes of season 3 would've been awesome especially because it could've kept me in the fandom longer than I was, except for then no human Sweetie except for those fan arts but yeah those episodes would've been great.

There would definitely have been a trade-off. Many episode ideas that made it into Season 4 would probably have been done in Season 3, which means that some episodes that ended up as key episodes probably wouldn't have.

 

On the flip side, "Wonderbolts Academy" should have been Rainbow Dash's key episode for all intents and purposes, but that's beside the point.

 

So, I'll just say that I wouldn't have been for or against extending Season 3, and I don't care about Equestria Girls.

Yeah, I think 13 more episodes would have been nice, since it would have (most likely) given Rarity the episode she deserved. Besides, 13 more episodes would take up a lot more time than the EG movie

I'm not a fan of EQG, so I would've rather had 13 more episodes than the movie. I like ponies....not humans with odd coloured skin that are supposed to resemble ponies.

 

With 13 more episodes, Twilight's Transformation wouldn't of felt rushed. The season finale could've been made into 2, or even 3 episodes...and it wouldn't of felt rushed. The Season finale would've been much better. Though It was already good,albeit a bit rushed.

Who knows what the impact those episodes would have made would have been? I actually didn't mind the shortened season. Also I liked EqG more than most of season 3's episodes, so I really wouldn't change it

I would've preferred more episodes over EQG. It's not that I don't like EQG, it's just that I think Season 3 could've ended much better.

But, apparently, EQG is doing successful. So, they're making a sequel. Could've made more episodes, but nope, gots to sell the merchandise.

I feel that during season 3 the writers might have been losing a bit of their focus on the themes that work. 

 

 

 

Spike was terrible in at your service IMNSHO. 

Games Ponies was one of those painful sitcoms where someone makes an error so glaringly obvious that much of the show is cringe-worthy.(Don't get me wrong -- they did a cringe-worthy PLOT well)

Sleepless was lack-luster, and the themes there have been addressed better in other shows.  Luna coming into the dream seems odd to me. 

Magic Duel seemed over-the-top Trixie and the ending was, while cute, off to me. .I felt One Bad Apple felt like it was concluded too happily, too quickly (sure going off and parting on amiable terms, but not like best buds.). 

I'm probably the only one here but I really thought that aside from the intro and conclusion the Crystal Empire was my least favorite to that's date [thanks Breezies for saving this episode] Twilight Sparkle, having no success with her friends tells everypony Candace is evil at the rehersal.  Actually cringed for that scene.  Then the 2nd half was an action flick -- Ok.  Until the Shining armor Deus Ex Machina.  Lesson of the episode" Love is so powerful that you don't need harmony?  YUCK Got confused.  Crystal kingdom was again, kinda meh.  I liked the lack of Mcguffen, but wondered why didn't they try to Mcguffen?  Still don't know the answer to that one.

 

 

 

If the writers got the feel back by taking a break, it was a good thing.

I don't care much for EQG, so yes, I would of preferred more episodes in Season 3, or even better replacing EQG with a full length pony movie. They look strange as humanoids, I prefer to watch them in their intended pony form.

EQG was something I thoroughly enjoyed. While it had numerous flaws, my personal matter is that flaws shouldn't affect enjoyment. Chances are if it's too flawed, you won't enjoy it, and while I do admit that EQG had its...low points, I gotta say I'd rather have it than 13 more episodes in S3, after the way that went.

I only can claim to have enjoyed 2 out of the 13 episodes in S3 ("Magic Duel" and "Apple Family Reunion") and I was "meh" to flat out dislike on the rest of them.

 

The only thing I can say that would make me want more S3 episodes is that Rarity was in desperate need to have her own episode, but eh. With the way that season went, I'd rather have EQG any day.

Personally, I feel EQG is just a money grab. It's only there to sell a sexy/ highschool drama version of MLP. I would rather have had 13 more episodes of season 3.

I liked both. Honestly I found a lot of complaints and hate towards S3 to be really petty, though admittedly some of EQG's criticisms

I think season 3 was really poorly done. Equestria Girls was okay but when you compare it to the overall quality of season 3, I'm actually glad it came out instead of 13 more episodes.

I think they should have, it would have erased a large amount of complaints with the season (alot of the complaints were how short it was, combined with the finale that then led toi EqG)

It could have possibly given them time to expand things a little more, and take away that rushed feeling alot of the season had.

And they could have used the time to build up the alicorn princess transformation more, and add in more hints to it, rather than pulling it from the sky. While it may not have "saved" season 3, it certainly could have improved it.
