Is Applebloom destined to earn an apple cutie mark?

Not sure if everyone ever thought on this, but since Applebloom is an Apple and all Apple Family members with cutie marks have apple-related ones. Doesn't matter if it's the fruit or a dessert made with apples, they're all apple related, let's add to this that Applebloom makes farming when it comes to harvest apples.

Pretty different from Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo who don't have that kind of heritage.

No, she is very likely to get a cutie mark that has something to do with potion making or construction -- neither of which is likely to have an apple in it.

I've always assumed so, especially since she has "apple" in her name. It's a very logical assumption that she would end up with some apple related cutie mark. However, we're never going to know and they purposely never mention that connection in the show because it would ruin the whole CMC thing. The air of mystery is much more interesting.

I actually can imagine it like this, if there was a time when the Cutie Mark Crusaders earned their cutie marks it would most likely be the last episode of the generation and be a double parter because it would have to be long and pretty dramatic because it looks like this would take longer than 5 seasons but they would most likely end up seperate due to older siblings and when they're apart then they'll earn their cutie marks it would end up where they all get back together with their cutie marks Apple Bloom's apples, Sweetie Belle's a music note, and Scootaloo a scooter however Babs Seed wouldn't the friendship lesson would be you should stick with your friend even if they are different or less than you however they'd still help ponies earn their cutie marks and stay the best of friends just off of the show. Though I might be just overthinking it because they're my favorite ponies aside from Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Spike.

Sorrowful -- truthfully.  Whereas in our world, our 'destinies' can be separated from that of our parents sometimes (although regrettably not always), in Applebloom's world, at a relatively young age, one's fate is permanently branded upon you for all to see, and to remind and discourage you every time you look in the mirror.  I myself deplore the idea of inherited livelihood and opinion, and so I dearly hope that she isn't cursed to forever follow blindly in the hoovesteps of those who happened to come before her.

I hope for a flower; it matches her name, and yet allows more freedom than the restrictions of a farm.  Perhaps the bloom can represent the start of a new destiny -- one that isn't necessarily linked to her predecessors: a new beginning, for her, and -- it can be hoped -- for her heirs.  But my own hopes, and those of the others here, likely fall on deaf ears, as it is likely that if she is to have a cutie mark at all, it has been decided already -- either by the show creators, or the forces of fate in Equestria.

it's likely that even if she does get a cutie mark in construction or potion making, it very well might include an apple anyway, thus still tying her to her family and heritage.

Well, seeing how her entire family has apple based cuitemarks, I would say that her having a cuite mark that involves some sort of apple iconography is likely. She may get her cutie mark in potion making or construction, but I still feel that because of her family ties the cutie mark will have some form of an apple on it.

Applejack said in her hot minute that maybe Applebloom's cutie will be apple-related...

That would be to cliché, and I, for one, would hate that.

But like @silvadel said, it'll likely be something about construction.

I ran out of breath reading this. Unless there is a dot somewhere I did not see, lol.

Anyway, yeah, I don't really want her to get a cutie mark because that would mean the end of the CMCs. It is much more gratifying to see them pointlessly try to get a cutie mark rather than have them actually get one.  (that sounds harsh).

if she does get a cutie mark, I think it would be apple-related just like all the others. I do not see why she would be an exception.

It would be obvious is her cutiemark will also be something with an apple in it, since every single family member if the Apple Family has one.

BUT: it would be very interesting if she would get a cutiemark without an apple, to see her reaction and the reaction of her family. They could make an interesting episode around that.

Well really it's all speculation till now cause we know next to nothing about cutie marks. There are a lot of ponies who's names are almost identical to their cutie marks. This could either mean two things: one, a pony's name will play a large part in determining what their cutie mark will look like; or two, ponies are likely to change their name to match their cutie mark out of tradition.

If we go by the first theory, then Apple Bloom's cutie mark is most likely to be apple-based. To fit in with her heavily implied construction talent, I always pictured it being a wooden apple with a hammer leaning against it.

Um not really...

All the way back to when Granny Smith was in her prime, there were APPLES with non-apple cutie marks.  Yes about 80% of the apples at the reunion had some kind of apple mark, but there was a fair number that had other produce on their flanks, and a few but measured number that had marks that had nothing at all to do with farming.

Well ... Rarity's talent didn't determine her destiny or occupation, and her parents have been shown with cutie marks and personalities that are not like hers.

The same could also be said of RD and Fluttershy because of different reasons. Fluttershy for example was raised alongside pegasi, but her talent and occupation are not race specific.

RD's talent while making her better at her occupation and is more in line with her race, she has yet to really find herself, or complete her dream.

Pinkie grew up in a rock farm ... no joy ... No laughter. Now she has two occupations that are focused around something completely different.

Like the real world, conditioning, status, self identification, talent, and serendipity (destiny) come together to help shape who we are, what we like, and we do.

The Apple family appears to be more of the exception really, and family businesses do continue in our world. Who knows ... it may be an apple themed mark or not.

I feel quite the opposite.

In this world we go along wondering, who am I?

What special purpose/gift do I have?

In their world, when they don't realize what purpose/skill they have they can see it all the time.

And it isn't a restriction.  Rainbow Dash loves RACING, but her job is a weather pony.  Twilight loves magic, but was a librarian and is a librarian-princess.  (which is much cooler than barbarian-prince) etc.,

And whatever your talent is - -no matter how stupid (sometimes literally [snails is very possibly that he's slow -- i.e. stupid]) what makes you special is cherished (at some level) -- by everybody.

You do realize the Talent, her 'destiny', would be that which she is both good at and enjoys? Cutie marks are not some sort of bondage to destiny that could bring misery into a pony's life by forcing them to do that which they hate. More, just because a pony's Special Talent may be one thing in particular doesn't mean you cannot have other talents and interests.

Stop being so over dramatic and let go of the Western culture's foolish idea that destiny must always be negative. In the Eastern culture destiny is view much more positively, and shown to often be a benefit in people's lives.

That's Granny's mother who MARRIED into the family. Assuming that the other two are auntie applesauce and cousin apple rose, one can assume that Applesauce's cutie mark is a withering apple tree. and if one looks closely, Apple Rose DOES have an apple amongst the roses on her cutie mark.

What makes the Western culture's idea that destiny must always be negative more foolish than the Eastern culture's idea that destiny can be positive?  We can't even verify either, as destiny itself is unfalsifiable.  Also, if I had a cutie mark, it would probably be for being over dramatic.  It's my thing.

Maybe like an apple blossom and maybe have tiny little apples surrounding it? It could show that she likes to care for flowers or something like that.

For Sweetie Belle, totally something like a musical note, or a microphone.

Scootaloo? A scooter, or something to do with dancing.
