So I changed a few ratings for Season 1, all for the better, some upon rewatching (Ex. Help Wanted, Reef Blower), some upon re-thinking (Ex. Sandy's Rocket, Rock Bottom), some upon just simple mistakes with copy-pasting (Ex. Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost, Employee of the Month). Sorry, but "I Was a Teenage Gary" is staying at bad. Don't take it too seriously, I BARELY called it a bad episode. 

So now for Season 3. This Season is hands-down the best Season of the show. It has the most Admirables, and my favorite and second favorite as well.

 

Season 3:

 

The Algae’s Always Greener- Admirable

Spongeguard on Duty- Good

 

Club SpongeBob- Good

My Pretty Seahorse- Admirable (And now it reminds me of MLP)

 

Just One Bite- Admirable (An interesting story and lots of clever gags. Never eat fast food, people, or  it'll go right to your thighs, and then you'll blow up)

The Bully- Good

 

Nasty Patty- Admirable (A dark episode done right)

Idiot Box- Admirable (IMAGINAAAATION!)

 

Mermaidman and Barnacleboy IV- Admirable (Why isn't this episode considered a favorite!? It was the birth of WUMBO!!! You know, I wumbo, you wumbo, he/she/we wumbo, it should be first grade to praise this episode!)

Doing Time- Okay (It just feels like a post-movie episode. Starts out not that memorable and evolves into a Mrs. Puff Torture Porn)

 

Snowball Effect- Admirable

One Krabs Trash- Admirable

 

As Seen on TV- Good (Just decent, not great)

Can You Spare a Dime?- Admirable

 

No Weenies Allowed- Admirable (My favorite SpongeBob/Sandy episode)

Squilliam Returns- Admirable (The only time Squilliam is a good character)

 

Krab-Borg- Admirable (This was actually the first episode I ever watched!)

Rock-a-Bye Bivalve- Admirable (Fuck the controversies of SpongeBob being gay. IN NO WAY IS HE POTRAYED THAT)

 

Wet Painters- Admirable

Krusty Krab Training Video- Admirable (FAVORITE EPISODE OF SEASON 3) And my favorite of the entire series!

 

Party Pooper Pants- Okay

 

Chocolate with Nuts- Admirable And my second favorite of the entire series!

Mermaidman and Barnacleboy V- Admirable

 

New Student Starfish- Admirable

Clams- Admirable

 

Ugh- Admirable (They actually told a great story without speaking English. I'm really impressed)

 

The Great Snail Race- Admirable (Controversial Choice, will explain below)

Mid-Life Crustacean- Admirable

 

Born Again Krabs- Okay (Right on the edge of Bad)

I Had an Accident- Good

 

Krabby Land- Good

The Camping Episode- Admirable (I pretty much have this episode memorized from watching it so many times, and it still makes me laugh to this day)

 

Missing Identity- Admirable 

Plankton’s Army- Admirable (Remember when this episode got a lot of hate? Well it doesn't anymore)

 

The Sponge Who Could Fly- Bad (I'm only counting the SpongeBob Segments, the Patchy segments would've benefitted the episode)

 

SpongeBob Meets the Strangler- Admirable

Pranks a Lot- Good

 

Admirable: 26

Good: 7

Okay: 3

Bad: 1

Atrocious: 0

 

Seasonal Rating: Admirable

 

And so we have the best Season. If you're wondering about The Great Snail Race, the reason is mainly because the abuse is extremely cartoonish. A snail crashing like a car isn't real. It's funny and has nothing gross or raging about it, it's not uncomfortable in any way. And of course SpongeBob apologizes and gets comeuppance from a previous hilarious joke, and Gary's fine in the end, he gets Snellie, and there are so many other memorable parts, like Squidward Tortellini. 

 

Besides the obvious Krusty Krab Training Video and Chocolate With Nuts, my favorites are The Camping Episode, No Weenies Allowed, Wet Painters, Idiot Box, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy V, and Krab-Borg. 

 

Now to move on to Season 4. Hold on, there's something before Season 4, something important.

Season 3 is definitely the Sponge's best season. The only episodes I disliked were MM&BBIV(only thing I liked was Wumbo, but otherwise it's my least favorite MM&BB ep), Pranks-a-lot and to a lesser extent Sponge who could fly,(not the best episode, but I don't think it's as bad as some think)

 

Chocolate With Nuts, MM&BB V(aka BEST MM&BB), Wet Painters, and Krusty Krab Training Video though all rank in my top 5 favorite Spongebob episodes(the 5th one is the Fry Cook Games)

Yeah, that's from Toy Store of Doom. I won't give away the rating, but I'll say the episode had a lot of creative possibilities completely wasted. I think the MLP scene is from Sisterhooves Social.

Alright, I was planning to make a long review on the movie, but what the heck, I can't say more than what has already been said, So I'll just give it an Admirable.

 

Now, we enter post-movie territory. You may be surprised at how I rated this season. This is because I treat all seasons and episodes equally, meaning that just because it’s “post-movie”, I AM NOT going to assume it’s bad unless it is actually bad. Another thing, SpongeBob didn't go downhill in Season 4. That's a far-fetched rumor that needs to die.

Good Neighbors- Bad (Ah, the episode where most people say the show went down. NOT TRUE. This doesn't even compare to a lot of the things in the future)

Dunces and Dragons- Admirable

 

Enemy In-Law- Good

 

Mermaidman and Barnacleboy VI: The Motion Picture- Admirable

The Thing- Okay (It's kinda like Jellyfishing. The two have a similar excuse to torture Squidward)

Driven to Tears- Admirable

 

Rule of Dumb- Good (Same as Wigstruck)

Best Frenemies- Admirable

 

The Pink Purloiner- Admirable

 

Squid Wood- Bad

 

Best Day Ever- Good (I know that in the "The Best Night Ever!" discussion I said why this episode sucks and that one didn't but after re-watching it the episode is just decent at most)

 

The Gift of Gum- Okay

 

Yes, I don't hate Season 4. I actually love it like the pre-movie Seasons, in fact more so than Season 1. Got a problem with that? Hope not.

Well, technically, Karate Island would be a bad episode, and barely, but most of the hate comes from "Oh this episode doesn't deserve to be #1" shit and I just defend it anyways. Bes Day Ever, I know all about it being super overhyped, and I would DEFINITELY not like it if I was watching SpongeBob before Atlantis SquarePantis's premiere. By the way, that episode SSSSUUUUUUUUUCKKKKED.

In my opinion, All That Glitters is the only episode that can really compare to the unholy terrors of SpongeBob's later run.

Season 4 of Spongebob is very hit or miss. There are some episodes that are good (Dunces and Dragons, Krusty Towers, Wishing you Well) and some that are terrible (Good Neighbors, The Thing, Squid Wood)

I think we should have a little more discussion. There's not that much we're talking about. Anyways, here's season 5. This was an interesting season. It's pretty much the transitional period, with some episodes that truly shine (Roller Cowards), to ones that stink (To Love a Patty), to uncreative shorts (Waiting), to overhyped specials (Atlantis SquarePantis), to episodes that were just plain forgettable. 
 
Also, should I limit my Admirable count more? I think I went too far with the first four seasons. Maybe even this season. 
 
Friend or Foe- Admirable (It was a real pleasure to look at the backstory of some of the cast)
 
The Original Fry Cook- Bad
Night Light- Atrocious (There's a difference between being childish and acting like a 3 year old. This is the latter)
 
Rise and Shine- Good
Waiting- Bad (Weakest plot in cartoon history)

Boat Smarts- ​Atrocious
