So I want to become a reviewer....

If you're talking video reviews, you'll need things like a camera if you're showing yourself, a capture device if you want to record footage for a game review. Notebook and pencil for a script. And you should be passionate about it. If you're going into a review without motivation, like, do you really want to do this? Because you'll more likely than not come off with a dull and boring attitude, and people won't want to watch you.

Yep, I agree with this guy says. Also, if you want people to follow you and such, take notes from other reviewers but don't copy what they say, obviously, unless you're going to reference it. Thinking up positives and negatives of whatever game you played, shows you watched, etc., is one thing. You're going to have to make your reviews interesting to read/watch as well, like cracking some jokes, making smart that will get people thinking, etc.

Here are a couple of good examples for you:

Best way to become a reviewer is to just do it. Find a medium in which to write your reviews in then just start doing it. Ask for critique if you must and just improve from there. Don't take anything people say too harshly, just use it as a learning experience.

You can't be until you do. ;)

Well it depends on what you mean by "what do I need"

In the physical sense you will need a microphone (good quality is always better) and or a camera (depending on if you are using oc poses or just a normal NC style face cam review). But if you are doing written reviews it is far easier (as you do not need to practice good vocals, and get a good speech cadence down) but if you are out looking to make your opinions known, written reviews tend to fall by the wayside compared to video ones.

As for video reviews, your voice is key. Far to often I have seen reviews start up, but then fail either because they did not have a basic script to go off, and because the cadence to their voice was extremely boring.

But most of all, make sure you are enjoying it. If you are having fun, most likely so are other people.
