What subcultures are as pervasive as the Brony subculture?

The Brony subculture is thought of as "very addictive/obsessive, very forceful in demanding new members".

 

When I asked a friend about other subcultures that are like this, he used "AT" (Finn and Jake) and Sherlock as examples.

 

Do you know any other subcultures that demand new members (aside from MLP:FiM), and others that can be powerfully addictive?
