I thought by 'fails', you mean instances where the animators did not realise that mistakes made it into the final movie.

 

There's nothing 'messed up' about Spike being a dog. You could easily say that Twilight being human is 'messed up'.

1.Skinny humanoids, wtf Sunset, suddenly magics, flashy gadgets ( example : snips snails smartphone), messed up logic and interactions

2. WTF Twilight, its as if the portal affected her logic and rationality or something ( this needs its own point)

3. That it actually spawns a sequel ( and probably its own series )

Watching EG clips makes me sad .

I expected ponies, but then there's this..

 

It is definitely not a good movie. Fun to watch, but it feels off and does not compare to its pony counterpart.

Personally I liked the movie, however the movie did have a few hiccups such as with Sunsetshimmer. 

 

What really made me like it was the music, I found the music awesome.

Well they could have made Spike into a cat if you would have liked that better 

 

I expect Rainbow Rocks to be quite better since those making the movie will have learned by their mistakes that they made during EG. Also RR will be more centered around music so YAY!

The interrogation scene between VP Luna and Twilight is one of the dumbest scenes in MLP history. Not just FIM, but ALL of MLP. There was no tension because it all ended, but even if there was, it would be VERY contrived for several reasons:

1. Snips and Snails had to be VERY lucky to have Twilight be so accurate in size in all those photos and cut it perfectly.
2. In the world of FIM, every single character has a shadow to show where they walk. Twilight doesn't have that in any of the photos.
3. VP Luna is an idiot and had to rely on Flash Sentry Walking Deus Ex Machina to deliver the evidence and acquit Twilight! To quote my EQG review:
   
   

    

   For a character who is supposed to replicate wisdom and intelligence, Vice Principal Luna shows none in her brief appearances, especially while interrogating Twilight in her office. Instead, we got someone who couldn't recognize a blatant cutout. The picture of Twilight causing the mess in the gym isn't a photoshop. It's an image with Twilight cut out and glued on the front to make it look like she caused the mess. Any vice principal with an ounce of intelligence would immediately recognize the ploy. Paper has texture, and you can feel the image being cut out immediately. The real Vice Principal Luna would notice this immediately, find Sunset Shimmer, and interrogate her rather than rely on a semi-Deus Ex Machina to get Twilight out of trouble.

This part of the movie is so cringe worthy. Cutting out pictures and gluing them onto other pictures instead of using something like photoshop ( They obviously have the technology ), let alone Luna falling for it? Give me a break.

 

That isn't to say I dislike Equestria Girls. It has its dumb parts here and there, but I thought it was overall a great movie.
