A role reversal of Pinkamena and Pinkie. What do you think?

In my own mind, I sometimes imagine scenarios where Pinkamena's the true self/sane one, while Pinkie's her insane alter ego (or something like a Ms. Hyde).

The only thing I know is that Pinkemania is an extremely fascinating alter ego. I sure wouldn't have a problem seeing Pinkemania again next season!

 

About what you say: I see what you mean. But if Pinkemenia really is her true personality, no one would like to help her to become her normal self again since I can imagine other ponies prefer Pinkie Pie above Pinkemania.

I think that undermines the purpose of the depressed state she finds herself in as 'Pinkamena'. They are one in the same to me, but your idea of duality is just as valid.

Meh, I don't even like Pinkamenama. I don't like the idea of Pinkie being portrayed as a killer. Also, the thought of Pinkamena being the true personality scares me. Why would that happen?

I would sometimes imagine Pinkamena as the real Pinkie, while the "Pinkie" partygoer is the near-tormenting entity she does not want to be, for her uncontrollable nature.

I think that undermines the purpose of the depressed state she finds herself in as 'Pinkamena'. They are one in the same to me, but your idea of duality is just as valid.

To me, "Pinkamena" does not have to be depressed or sad all the time. She can be calm and controllable.

Then that would make her a more complex character. The reason she's always happy is she's trying to heal her own depression by making other ponies happy.

If she never got her cutie mark, in an alternate timeline, it could be possible she always acts like pinkamena. Her whole family might have psychological issues, just like pinkamena and maud.

Pinkamena=/=Killer,please do not get this confused as ive gotten slightly irritated with people thinking that Pinkamena is some lunatic murderer -- lunatic yes,but not a murderer. Do not allow the fandoms twisted depiction of her cloud her true persona.

Let us remember Pinkamena Diana Pie before she became 'Pinkie Pie'

In short: A sad filly,perhaps seeking joy and happiness but unable to find it,how could she? She's working on a rock farm. Working on a rock farm isn't fun.  .unless you're Maud. 

 

However,after seeing the sonic rainboom she realized what she wanted. She wanted to give ppl the euphoria she felt that the sonic rainboom gave her,thus 'Pinkie Pie' is born. 

 

 

However,this does not mean Pinkamena Diana Pie no longer exist,its just she has moved mentally into "Pinkie Pie",obviously she is perfectly capable of returning to her other self and this was made obvious in Party of One and again in MMC(tho to a lesser degree). 

 

Why did she revert back to her previous mental state in Party of One? Simple; she felt she could no longer continue her life mission: Bringing her friends joy.

Figuring her friends no longer care for her and the joy she brings them,she reverts back to her old self. 

 

Pinkamena Diana Pie IS Pinkie Pie,"Pinkie Pie" is just a 'happy Pinkamena',this is why we see Pinkamena in MMC as she is no longer happy. 

 

tldr; Pinkamena = sad | Pinkie Pie = happy,they are the same person and no more "true" or "sane/insane" than the other half.

and i'm here thinking why most of you kept calling pinkie pie's alter ego as pinkamena . pinkamena diane pie is her real name , she uses the nick name pinkie pie

I prefer the version of Pinkamena that's more sad and crazy, than malicious. From what we've seen from The Cutie Mark Chronicles and Party of One, the Pinkamena side was just for when she was sad, not blood-hungry. I think most got the killer persona from either Cupcakes or the psychotic scene from Party of One. Just because Pinkie went psychotic at that point, that doesn't mean she'll want to kill her friends. I don't normally use or follow head canons, but I prefer Pinkamena to be the sad side to Pinkie, not the evil side.
