I for one have no objection to anything that leaves a new scar or two, provided it doesn't put me out of commission for too long. Injury may not be fun, but pain can be pleasure. Let the idiots exit the gene pool, let the bored have a brief rush, and if you don't like it, then don't do it, as simple as that.

It's actually not that bad. The smart ones know when to stop and the not so smart ones, well, let's just say they won't exactly be in the condition to cause much more damage. Besides, lighting other people and/or their property on fire is a whole new issue.

Back in the old times? Where people were allowed to shamelessly claim the lives of others thanks to some code of chivalry; perform medieval judicial duels, Ankams, bolo fights, or holmgangs?

 

What they have in common with these dumb teenage challenges today is that the naive are pressured into doing terrible things for the amusement of others, denying to do so will result in what they see as "perpetual humiliation".
