May I borrow your time deceleration device? xD

lol

Well, actually, I started around 4:40 and finished around 6:10, so a little under two hours. Most of the holdup was the USB 3.0 header, had to connect that to the bottom header instead of the top one because it wouldn't go in for some reason, but it went in just fine on the bottom header. Other than the SSD, I'm done building it.

Actually, now that I think about it, half the reason why it took me so long to build my PC was because I was taking parts out from my old computer at the same time. Except the motherboard, CPU, and ram, I was moving all the guts from my old computer into my new case. That probably doubled the time.

With my roommate's build, his heatsink took like 4 hours to mount. It required the complete removal of the mounting plate and everything. And of course, like all things, it just didn't quite fit without excessive force. Installing that was more difficult than anything else I've ever done, lol.

That little thing not fitting properly is just part of the experience.

According to everyone else in my house it took me like 20min for the first build that like 30 when I re-did everything with proper cable management.

The hardest part for seatin that God-forsaken CPU. I thought I was going to break the damn thing.

Not really much of a problem on Intel.

More up-to-date pic of my cable management:

They must move more air because of the LEDs, right?

The LED's blind the air particles and prevent them from seeing the cables, so they pass right through. All the air sees is the giant fan, so it knows what to do without getting confused.

Really, it's the same principle as the LED's on the batons that the airport people use. The LED's tell the air where to go, and that's how planes fly.

Enjoy seeing your windows OS boot up in ten seconds flat once it's installed on that SSD

About an hour. I actually don't have everything installed just yet, SSD is still out for delivery.

I think it took me longer than an hour to get my computer out of it's box and take everything out and set it up.

Maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but still.

And yes, my computer I have is prebuilt, but on the plus side, atleast it's not from walmart or something ;p. We all have to start somewhere.

The computer I had before this was just a piece of trash that I don't even want to think about, I try to pretend that computer never existed, heck the laptop I had before that was better, and it was much older.

I'll have to learn a bit more about the insides of my computer once I finally get a new GPU and PSU, because obviously i'm going to have to place that in by myself. (Which I have no idea how to do currently, but I figure there are numerous tutorials on the subject around YouTube and such.)

But enough bagging on myself for lacking computer knowledge. Congratulations dude, if you don't mind me asking, what ended up being your specs for this computer?

I'm on the fence. I'm going to be leaving gaming. After the Unity fiasco and constant failure of new released games, I am sticking with my current build(refer to my about me page) I have my eyes on a ftw 970 but the CPU needs an upgrade as well as the mobo for sli function(if the 8th gen can use SLI properly) The only thing to save is my 16GB of ram.

That sounds far more adorable than it is.

Which isn't at all.

But it's good that you still have your finger. :)

I still have a sore on my knuckle because "installing a new fan-cable while the system is on and full of spinning wheels of death isn't a bad idea, right?"

Side note, I found out the grain filter does nothing but make the game look slightly worse(and I mean slightly)

Filter off:

Turned on and cranked up to 100%

Oh, and AA is turned on(that's how useless it is, I'm almost convinced it's a dummy option)
