I've been waiting intently for Cities Skylines, which has been hyped to be the game that SimCity 2013 should have been. Well it released today, and it looks incredible.

So launching the game on my computer for the first time only to have it not launch really, really sucks.

I really need to upgrade from this peasant-grade laptop with integrated graphics to a proper gaming rig.

I'm just so gutted right now.

Got it just a few hours ago from GMG -- game's awesome. SimCity 5. Ignore what happened in 2013.

Oh, stop making me jealous. :P

I'll have to wait until I build a gaming PC, which will probably happen in June. Then I'll be maxing that shit out at 4k.

maybe.

For now it's back to Minesweeper and Solitaire. Because it seems that's all this thing can handle.

To be fair, the requirements are very reasonable. Maybe not Minesweeper-class, but definitely a breath of fresh air in an era of PC games that require overclocked i7's to run at 30 fps, probably.

And it looks amazing. The art style is very reminscent of SimCity 2013, with the whole diorama look and just zooming in to inspect little building details and have it all running at a steady clip. It's just fantastic, really. The PC really needed a good city building simulator in my opinion and this game ticks all the right checkboxes.

The devs seem really transparent about the whole thing with their sending review copies to streamers a week ahead of time, so here's hoping they keep up the support.

Played a little Borderlands(got the GOTY editions of both the first games for under $20 total on Steam sale) and the comic-book/graphic novel art style looks really good at 1080p with PC quality textures and runs surprisingly well(everything is maxed out but the Foliage detail and AF and I'm getting 50-60FPS on 1080p)

Yeah, was running it at the default settings in 1440x900. Still got over 60FPS though.

Fair enough. I think PC gaming ruined it for me. I notice aliasing so much now x_x

Aliasing looks so terrible, I know. I can't ever understand how I played games with it now.

To be fair I'll take aliasing over bad textures any day.

I dunno, I can deal with sub par textures. The two things that annoy me are aliasing and pop in. If I see any of that it starts to annoy me xP

Recently received 240GB SSD. Now I don't have to deal with only 18MB to 2GB remaining in C: Drive and can use old 120GB SSD to, say, boot certain games faster.

Hey guys, I've figured out a way to make sure you can get a more steady framerate on a game with out even using Vsync.

Just open up task manager, find the game .EXE in the "Details" tab, right-click and set priority to "High".

Be careful with "Realtime" if you can't reach 60FPS. It bugs out the game in a weird way.

By the way, who else here plays PayDay 2?

Add me on Steam if you do.

Problem is there are just too many games that use FXAA as the only type of AA. I'd rather have it off in that case.

You guys should know the saying. FXAA or no AA.

Ubisoft is having a sale on steam until the 15th. So, if there are games that you want that Ubisoft didn't fuck up, (Watch Dogs,AC:Unity) then get 'em while you can. also, edbating whether to get Payday 2, it's only $6 right now.

I probably will.

Decided I'm gonna get a 970 after all later this year. Sure, it only has another gig and a half of full-speed GDDR5 over my 760, but even that is better than 2GB based on how things are going. It'll also open up those 144Hz AHVA panels in the future.

I managed to get Cities: Skylines to work on the school computers. I still am unable to play at home, but

Had Chrome tabs open and had COD AW running. RAM usage was at ~98%, GPU usage between 70-90%, and VRAM usage approximately 25%. Perhaps GPU upgrade is not necessary this year after all.

Is not worth buying Watch_Dogs even for half price (or I suppose 66% off from initial price)? I'm curious about the game but I am aware of initial terrible optimization (unsure of current status) and people said that story was... nothing too noteworthy. But would it be considered to at least be decent game for that price? Not in any particular hurry to play game though.

Purchased Valiant Hearts though.

No, it's not worth it, honestly. I was just saying those are games you should avoid.

Cities Skylines is out? What is this...

*checks reviews*

...and it's *good*?

Don't mind me, I' just gonna log into Steam, download the game, and disappear from the face of the Earth for the next two months.

I nabbed AC3 and ACR in the sale, everything else I didn't have yet either didn't interest me or was still to rich for my blood.

http://www.bundlestars.com/store/?utm_source=giveaways&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=giveaway+avencast Humble Bundle is having a good sale right now. Most notably giving a free game away till Monday just a heads up.

What game are they giving away? I can't seem to find it.

EDIT: Nevermind, it was at the VERY bottom of the page.
